KH1 Sora had access to time magic... lemme repeat that, a BOY who never held a sword before; basiclly just a normal human before shit goes down, has TIME MAGIC as well as Gravity magic. Sora in KH2 learned how to actually use a keyblade for badass combos but dropped off in the magic department, KH1 Sora was such huge magical abilities its sage like levels.
He probably had to sacrifice some of those abilities in order to be able to use MP Charge and all the other fancy shit he can do from KH2 onwards like combo finishers and modifiers. He's focusing on speed and combo ability over magical prowess because doing both at the same time would be difficult without a substantial power boost like his Drive forms. Kinda like how in MGR they explain that the reason why Raiden is the only cyborg without the ability to self repair is because he was built with speed and power in mind so the people that made his body had to remove some supportive/defensive features to make room so they could optimize in those categories. Plus, he did get more comfortable with magic since he can now seamlessly weave it into his combos. I guess Sora learned that there's other ways to utilize magic outside of the typical mage style. Riku's always been the one who's more traditionally magically gifted. Probably because of his experience with balancing his inner darkness.

@@lpfan4491 it's on the menu, u can select edit cards, change deck, name deck, shortcuts, and stuff. The controls are weird but if u are on PC you can map your keyboard easily
When I fought Marluxia, (on proud, first playthrough) I set up my deck to have two lethal frames. After he did the blow away card move, I was able to pick up 2 attack cards and a stop. So I spammed triangle and won.
He just kept on resisting it with me so I had to switch to Sonic Blade and Ars Arcanum but even with those he was still a significant difficulty spike when compared to previous boss fights.
Wait, no attack bracer? Are you telling me that the final boss has no sleight breaking 0s or anything to keep you from doing this?? Man, talk about flawed boss design
This slight freezes time and the startup is faster than the enemies recovery time, so they boss has no opportunity to move. This slight is super broken against any enemy in the game, so it's not actually an issue with the boss, but with the slight.

This was basically my strategy in boss fights in a nutshell. Spam Lethal Frame and hope the enemy doesn't break my cards. Usually with the help of Jafar Genie.
Played this game recently for the first time earlier this past week...ngl I hated the combat system so much that once i unlocked this combo i just spammed it whenever it was viable just to speed it along lol
Nah I just did the same thing without the Marluxia card, the reason he has it is because he watched 358/2 days before playing re:com in the collection. But it's 100% not necessary to spam lethal frame.
I grinded in this game so much that I was at level 99, with EVERY SINGLE CARD at premium so I could have a massive deck with nothing but 9s, while still having multiple enemy cards, my main 2 being red nocturne (because what's better than a mega flate at 999? A HARDER HITTING MEGA FLARE AT 999!) And Marluxia
To be honest, I'm against players who have found a strat that makes the final boss impossible to beat and those with almost no touch on the controller... I don't have the rigor for that!
I love imagining that to Marluxia, Sora just hit him a bunch in a matter of like, 3 seconds and he lost without any fight

...you get the marluxia enemy card after the first fight normally, before entering the door and fighting the 2nd and 3rd forms
And then no form of Marluxia ever went Final Boss level again.
