The Lithium exploited in Nigeria should be transformed in all its forms in Nigeria to create jobs for Nigerian youth.
Are all states going to share the profits from the lithium production like we share oil?
Yes of course but the state has it own percentage
I think the state stands to make a lot more money because they are investors in the project (just like Shell is an investor in the oil & gas sector in the south). Nassarawa govt will probably only pay exploration fees & other taxes into FGN's pot, which the whole country can benefit from. If the southern states want to make more money directly from oil they have an opportunity to bid for oil well now and get into exploration and maybe into building their own refinery, just like Nassarawa state has just done for Lithium processing.
I have searched for made in Nigeria battery but can't find anything. So what's the use of the plant? There is crude oil but no made in Nigeria petrol as at 2024.. It is Same thing.
