Kirkham Priory | 11th Century | Walking Tour | Drone footage| 4K

Please join us on a #walkingtour of Kirkham Priory set on the banks of the River Derwent near the Yorkshire Wolds, founded by Walter Espe in the 1120's. We shall #explore the history & find out about the secret visit from SIr Winston Churchill & the testing of military equipment for the D-Day landings in 1944. The Patrons the De Roos have been buried in the grounds & have their family crest on the gatehouse.

We enjoyed the Priory tour, Amanda. Great explanation of it's history as always! Enjoyed hearing about the WW2 history and Winston Churchill's visits the most I think. It was a terrible time in our worlds history too. Both our fathers served and it wasn't long before they both safely came back and we came about! Loved the tour. Sorry for being late, but watched in full. Loved "taking to the sky with Jack!"
