First of all, nice video's about the Sena 30K. I have a question about bluetooth connections and other Mesh users. When I(with bluetooth) join a group with all mesh users, I first have to connect with one of the Mesh user, correct? When I loose contact with that user, will it automaticly reconnect when I'm in line of sight? Is it possible to connect to more than one Mesh user by bluetooth. I thinking about buing the Sena SRL 2 for my Shoei helmet.
You do not "Join" a group, You connect to ONE MESH user and that bridges you into the MESH with all MESH users. SOOOO "YES", "YES" Last question, see first answer. Just got back into riding after about 4 yrs of no bike. I used to use the smh10 and 10s before. Bought 2x 30K and yesterday went for my first ride with a friend that has a 30K. We spent 30-45mins in my garage attempting to get the public or private mesh to work and..... nothing. We had the user guide and they would not connect. Ended up giving up and doing the standard Bluetooth pairing. Altered our ride plan and really hurt my opinion of Sena. I will look more into competitors products on my next purchase. Both 30K were on the latest firmware. Feel like junk products.
Sounds like you purchased a couple of units that have been laying around for some time and they have MESH 1.0 There is no longer public and private modes .... Open MESH and GROUP MESH is the new mesh. You need to update firmware to MESH 2.0. Once done, turn on the units and then press the MESH button under the antenna and you are connected. A reputable dealer would know this and have updated the units for you.
Hi Paul we are not GoldWing or Harley riders so it is hard for me to get a FREEWIRE bike in the loop to do a video. BUT I can tell you NOTHING will happen other than communications!!!! It will flow right into the system with the FREEWIRE!! I have multipule devices hooked up to my RT with a SR10 (A second pairing profile system like the FREEWIRE) and the radar alerts come in and my FRS or CB friends come in when I push the PTT and leave when I let it go etc.
@@Richardrka1 I recently purchased a 30K. I upgraded from a 20S EVO. I have a 2017 Goldwing and have a FreeWire connected. My 30K is connected to my FreeWire as a "Phone pairing, or 1st phone." I then paired my 30K to my IPhone 7 as a second phone and everything works. Here is my problem and perhaps you can answer it. When I have the Mesh on, I lose turn-by-turn via the FreeWire out to the 30K. Also, while in mesh mode, I can't make or receive a phone call. SENA help desk says you have to leave the Mesh to make a call but I don't think that is correct as I was able to make a call while I had the mesh turned on. At the time I was not in a mesh conversation, I just had the mesh in the on mode. I will try it out next week to see if that is the case. Next question: How do I connect to a 20S or 20S EVO while in the mesh if i have to have BT turned off? We have members in our club that have 20s, 10s headsets
@@exmary2 I cannot duplicate your issue as I do not have a GW or Firewire to test with. BUT … You should not lose your audio when in 30K MESH MODE I am setting at my desk and received and made phone calls with the 30K in MESH and in Bluetooth mode. I am going to forward your message to SENA and see why the support person said what they said. Your last question is what the video is about!
You can connect up to THREE other 10S,10C, 20, Momentum headsets to each 30K in Bluetooth mode, when you go into MESH they will bridge into the whole group. Even when in MESH mode.
Richard can I be connected to a 30k, SC1 (Schuberth), and a packtalk by Bluetooth and group intercom all? Or maybe you can direct me to another video. Thank you!
YES ... BUT .. Most all manufacturers have "Universal intercom" sounds nice. It's not. You CAN connect the SC1 to the Packtalk using "Universal Intercom" the packtalk will be connected using PHONE PROFILE and that headset will lose everything except intercom. Then connect the SC1 to the 30K. This is not a real good scenario in my book and is very limited. Best for everyone to have the SAME manufacturer ;-)
I forgot to say that I will have the 30k and that the SC1 is made by Sena. So the Packtalk will be the only non-Sena but just wanted to make sure we can all talk to each other (which we will but with limitation). Thank you for everything!

Download the device manager and the App? I downloaded the Sena 30k Utility. What am I missing. Just bought the 30k dual with a friend and want to get up to speed. Your videos are very helpful. I too am a Vlogger and with under 1k so will give you a bump and would appreciate one back. All the best and thanks for your videos.
Why can't my 30k open my settings menu on my iPhone I see the 30k in bluetooth and when I turn on my unit it says phone connected all I get is a screen that telling to turn on like its not paired
@@Richardrka1 makes perfect sense to me 2yrs later. 😃The phone shows a connection with the device under Bluetooth connected devices. The Sena software however does not detect it as being connected. Same thing my friend experienced on his yesterday with the major time waste we had on our maiden ride for the season after four years.
