      Sure am...this is why I wasn't too worried about the Westling trays and the ascending/descending stuff...full on custom. Plus, I got to color match everything, lol.

    Awesome video! Hey I have the Tekton rail system that looks to be made by Ernst and I also labeled every single socket ,Chrome,impact & swivel in SAE& Metric 3/8 & 1/2 which the impact & swivels are Capri and I had many stickers start to pop off. I think due to the oil from the sockets. But I hit the stickers that were popping up with my heat gun. Really quick pass over the stickers so they wouldn’t deform but that seemed to do the trick. They haven’t popped up at all and I love the way my sockets look. I should send ya a pic of how they came out. Love the orange! 👍🏼👌🏼

      Yeah, that was a slick setup...thanks for sending the pics! I hit the (2) rails with lifting stickers tonight and will see how they hold...thanks for the tip!

    Such a beautiful setup, your idea really planned on on this one! These Ernst products seem really awesome! 👍

      Thanks...I like how it turned out. As soon as the Shallow/Deep set went on sale, my plan to be super cheap and only use the Semi-Deep went out the window and this got thrown in, lol. Super glad Ernst expanded the color options. If you haven't used them, grab a rail for whatever your mobile setup would be...I think you'll be impressed!

    The orange and black look amazing together. I love the Ernst socket rails. For some reason, the last set of stickers I applied came off the side of clip (still sticking to top just fine). Perhaps the adhesive is a bit wonky. My Koken nut grip sockets seem indifferent to the calamity.

      Agreed...I love the orange and black. I've done a TON of labels at this point. I'm probably in the 60-70% range with long term adhesion. Like you mentioned, when they do lift it is almost always from the bottom. I think a lot has to do with prep, oil on the skin, weather at the time etc. A lot of people fair better with a heat gun...catch is you have to be pretty careful with a cheap heat gun...you can easily burn the labels (ask how I know, lol). I have had some luck heating up the ones that don't adhere and getting them back on...I'm still debating how to layout my Nut Grip sockets...SAE and Metric on the same rail, or putting them on 8" rails etc.

    Big fan of Ernest socket rails. My travel box has them and I have never had a issue. Mine have the little ears that you squeeze in and slide the clip off. I went to their site and they removed those wings for more rail space. It takes up about a inch of rail.
    Wipe down the clip with alcohol to remove any oil or release agent.
    Capri went cheap on their design. The taper adds a little cost but makes life a little simpler. By the time it wallered out the socket itself would need replacing from wear on the fastener end.

      Yep...that is where I really think Ernst shines is the mobility aspect. Stationary, grab and go, or full mobile...they get the job done. I have a blue rail in my work bag for motors and I've never had one come off...plus they are lightweight. As much as I like magnets, they aren't as mobile friendly. I definitely prefer the taper, but always hear people argue against it...I believe our stance is correct.

      I just watched a video where the socket had a flat bottom surface. It was beat up pretty good to the point the edges rolled up and needed filed down. If you have the taper that really does not happen, at least none that I have seen.

    Also I would add in 1/4 in all 3 depths myself. 😊

    • @lonestarmopars
      @lonestarmopars  2 роки тому

      That would be ideal...sadly Capri doesn't have a 1/4" in 3/8" Drive.

    I think I’ll cut the labels in half and only install them on the flat part. Bonus will have extra labels then

    A color suggestion for your Metric socket organizers - Black or Gray....
    (Ernst has them in Black, Tekton has them in Gray)
