- This December I represented Team Canada at the World Floorball Championships in Riga, Latvia. It was a hell of an experience, and made me even more obsessed with the sport than I already am!

What concerns me, is that you were losing 14-3 to Estonia
The European teas are far better than North American teams because they have established leagues there. The first 10 teams are far better than 11th and 12th (Canada and US) but I hope that changes as the popularity of floorball rises in Canada. I know I'll be training and ready for the next one.

Oil Canada isn't that good at floorball like Northen Europe countries, but I think that Canada is improving very fast in floorball and soon enough they are going to be at the same level like Estonia and maybe even better

One thing u do when u play floorball is u play it like it was hockey. Its not bad but floorball is a diffrent sport and dont get used to all the hockey plays if u play floorball! I hope u understands my bad english=)

Don't know about 30s. Belgium kept Sweden to 22-0 in the qualifiers for this. And Canada are significantly better than Belgium

here's a question for you pavel, if the NHL decides to keep thier word on not allowing NHL players to compete, do you try out??

There are far better players than I am out there. I appreciate the thought and your kindness, but I am not near that level. Haven't played serious competitive hockey in 6 years haha. I think these comments mostly come from young people, but I hope you understand that there are a lot of hard working young men out there who are way more deserving of this than I am. I am just an instructor. It's what I've always wanted to be, and it's what I love to do and I'm good at that. My role is to make those players better. It's a lot of fun!

i fell like canada plays a lot faster game than others, they run from end to end really quickly and from what i saw from these clips they got really fast players with the ball. they will get far with that i think
Yeah - we lack the structure and ball movement badly though. We're all trying to figure it out. A lot of guys hadn't played together or played that high a level before.
alex jokunen the thing is u can create a scoring chance whit that but if u get every body in position and pass it around u have a much better chance too find a hole in the defense

Pavel Barber yeah and i also wanted to ask what stick are you using and your toughts about it like should i get one? i have got a problem that i got many sticks but i really dont like any of them :D id much rather spend my money on a new stick than a new pc monitor for example

I'm from Sweden and i play floorball daily in my club. I think it's really fun and great to see other countries join the sport and making it bigger. In 10-20 years when the other countries also has established leagues and clubs, maybe. Just maybe can floorball actually be a sport which that you can live on (money).

I have respect for someone who dares to play floorhockey in a country where ice-hockey is the leading sport, got respect for you! Here in Holland field hockey is really roaming but I somehow found myself playing rink bandy (there’s no real ice-hockey club near me :/)

The world football championships are the premier athletic event of the year. Still pretty cool tho
I'm guessing that good ball control while running (with its up and down motion) really helps on-ice stick-handling while keeping the legs moving, yes? So many ice hockey players either stop moving their legs when stick handling, or slow down, or lose the puck when doing so.
(By the way, I think I saw you on Rink 6 at 8-rinks today. My daughter was on Rink 5 for spring 4-on-4 and my son grabbed me to say, "I think Pavel Barber is next door shooting on goalies ...")
Yeah I think overall it helps. The aspect you're talking about can be trained on ice. Just needs to be reinforced and demanded from the coach/instructor to attempt the moves without stopping their feet. But of course in Floorball you can't glide so it forces you to be able to do both.

Depends on where you live. If you don`t have teams or leagues available, order a stick and a few balls an start shooting, stickhandling, passing etc. This sport is growing fast everywhere and there will be more and more teams.
