- god i love her, she's so pretty...
On a more serious note, this game really impressed me with it's story, specifically dealing with Ceroba.
I never would have guessed how important, and integral she would be to the overall story... I was genuinely shocked when I realized on my first playthrough that she was betraying me. I think I'll always hold that moment of shock and awe so high in my memory of this game.
Art is by me!
Please do not use my music without permission!
Thanks for watching :)
I loved the part where she said that Clover reminded her of her daughter. I’ve always thought that she wouldn’t have let Clover sacrifice their soul, because it would have reminded her of her daughter’s willingness to risk her life by taking the syrum.
Although, the reason she did it was probably because she believed in even children having a choice, that’s also probably why she let Kanako take the syrum.
True
they both still idiot, chujin litetally said not to try the serum on their daughter, and then they do the exact opposite
@@johay899 honestly i thought the part after that was referring to chujin("the resolve you have" part)
The flow of the song is amazing
Lyrics for convenience:
The moment has come
I'll do what must be done
Forgive me, or not
I do this
Without a second thought
I know it is wrong
But judgement comes for us all
Forgive me, my love
I'll do what must be done
The light of the moon
The shining sun
I know they will see it
When I have won
My sins won't fade
When you are gone
An eye for an eye
Now we're both blind
I long for the past
But the present reeled its head
This is my choice
This is your fate
And I wish it were
Me, instead
I'm drowning in sorrow
Many nights I've spent
Weeping, over what
I have done to my daughter
So, let it be known
I will not hold back
You remind me of her
The resolve you have
Mirrors the one I lost
But I've made up my mind
A human, so pure
Is worth all the pain I've caused
The light of the moon
The shining sun
I know they will see it
When I have won
My sins won't fade
When you are gone
An eye for an eye
Now we're both blind
I long for the past
But the present reeled its head
This is my choice
This is your fate
And I wish it were
Me, instead
The cries in the night
The act I played
It all will be worth
The lives I save
I know this isn't
What they want
But they are both gone
And I live on
I long for the past
But the future
Depends on death
This is my choice
This is your fate
And I wish it were
Me, instead
Lmk if any errors and I'll correct,
An original Ceroba song though, listening to this after the pacifist ending reminds me of how I felt during it. Really lovely song to listen to.
Ceroba is such a sad character. Most villains (not saying Ceroba is one) believe what they're doing is right, or wrong but will lead to the best option. Ceroba, as this song says, KNOWS what she is doing is wrong, but it's literally the ONLY thing she can do. As "A Mother's Love with lyrics by Nonagos" says, she can't go back, she can't press on. She can't travel back in time, and living without her family and with the guilt of her sins is borderline impossible, so the only thing she can do is either die or bring her dead daughter back and in essence keep her dead husband alive through his work. If she took her own life, her friends would be devastated, and she couldn't bring herself to add another sin to her load, so she gets you to do it. You'd be serving deserved judgement if you killed her, and if she beats you, she can pay for her crimes by freeing monsterkind, and reviving who she killed. Fighting you is the only option forward. She's at Some Point of No Return.
very well said!
ok but why inject your own daughter with mystery serum after you already lost your husband
@@RocketShipSquid Well it's not mystery serum, she researched it, knew what was in it, and according to her knowledge it should've worked. Additionally, the reason why is because she'd lost her husband. Kanako had almost been killed in the Snowdin Attack, probably would've been if it weren't for Axis. This serum making Kanako stronger (at least, that's what it was supposed to do) would've prevented her from being vulnerable to any future attacks by humans, therefore stopping Ceroba from losing any more loved ones. Nonetheless, going directly against her husband's wishes to not use the serum on Kanako I do agree was pretty stupid.
Just like undertale_yellow_ost_number119 said, eh?
"god i love her, she's so pretty..."
Same, evidentlyfresh, same.
I still come back to this song
God, it's just heartbreaking 😭
this is personally one of my favourite artworks that you've done, I love their haunting presence despite the fact they look haunted themself and also it looks pretty.
You perfectly encapsulated the character with this song! It's low-toned, it's tragic but calm at the same time, just like Ceroba and her story, for which I will also always hold much respect and consideration. I'll be honest, some days ago I listened to the other original song you made for UTY, "Justice in Your Soul", and I felt it was a good enough track. Nothing special, not something I would particularly listen on my own time, but THIS?! YOU BET I'LL BE LISTENING TO IT MANY MANY TIMES, TO MY PLAYLIST THIS GOES!
Overall, amazing job on this one :)
I loved it when evidentlyfresh said "it's Me-Insteadin time" and Me-Insteaded all over Ceroba
this made me laugh way too hard lol
they also me-insteaded all over me

RISE UP CEROBA LOVERS 🦊
This is great!! The ending especially made me emotional
I gotta say, the chilling grief that hangs on every word shakes me to my damn bones. Insanely well done dude, incredibly so. I mean it when I say I think your vocals put the theme of grief from the game into motion in ways words fail to do so. NOW PUT IT ON SPOTIFY ‼️🗣️🗣️
TOOK THE WORDS OUT OF MY MOUTH!
I absolutely love this, especially the part that first shows up around here 1:06 - 1:32
Between this and The Justice In Your Soul, you've absolutely killed it with the UTY originals so far
I have to agree. That part is by far the best part of the song. Just the tone along with the background music and lyrics makes it perfect. You can hear extra grief in the lyrics "I long for the past, but the present reeled it's head." and that just fits so well with her. Personally, The Justice In Your Soul is good, just not something to add to my Playlist, but this is just pure beauty. It fits Ceroba so well. (Also the fact that the lyric "I know my sins won't fade when you're gone" shows that she knows that this won't fix everything, but she's doing it anyway)
Ive always loved Cerobas character and I think you handled her character really well for this song!
This might be my favorite song of yours so far! It’s so grim and tragic and climactic all at once. The chorus has an amazing melody that is lovely to listen to. “I long for the past, but the present reared its head. This is my choice. This is your fate. And I wish it were me, instead.” These are genius lyrics and you should be proud.
“I know this isn’t what they want, but they are both gone and I live on.”
This. This is Ceroba. The pain and the grief and the loneliness and the selflessness and the selfishness and the desperate desire to make the deaths of her loved ones, as well as her own sins, MEAN something.
This song swept me off my feet and sucker punched me in the face (in a good way). Thank you for making it!
Found this absolute jewel and I don’t usually comment but oh. My. God.
This song is absolutely PHENOMENAL at depicting Ceroba’s character and her motivations throughout undertale yellow. It shows that she KNOWS what she is doing is wrong but is doing it anyway for her own sake. This song gave me so many chills when I first heard it, this is absolutely amazing. Going to put this on loop. WE’RE MAKING IT OUT OF THE UNDERGROUND WITH THIS ONE‼️‼️‼️‼️
Absorbing this into my mental state, great song!!
I’m glad Undertale Yellow has been getting a lot of praise, haven’t played it myself yet but I’ve binge watched gameplay of the true pacifist route and it still hit the feels the original Undertale gave off.
I like the characters a lot but Ceroba is definitely the most impactful to me so far, this song was very well written. Keep up the good work!
why would you watch all the gameplay before playing on a free game
@@KwikBRI don't own a computer to play it on, so I watched a playthrough and can confirm it still makes you cry
(one of the four things that made me cry online tbh. [Other 3 were Undertale {song} on piano, Undertale itself at the end of TP, and an Undertake story on Wattpad...and that one made me cry like 20 times)
@@KwikBRat the time I didn’t have enough time in my life to play the game so I watched the playthrough, although I have since played Undertale Yellow and beaten the True Pacifist route.
I always love the bittersweet melancholic feelings of your songs so so much. You might not have the most high-tech equipment but you sure make up for it with your lyrics and general atmosphere. Kinda reminds me of why indie and old games are so good - those devs always tried and still try to do their best with what they have, working around problems, and actually constructing a very well-put-together product.
Please, don't stop making such goods songs like this one !
(I swear to god, I want to cry of happiness when I listen to this one !)
If this could be sung in Karaoke, I would 100% approve !
When I listen to this I wanna cry of sadness ceroba is such a sad character and this song is a perfect example of that
Your UTY remixes and songs are SO good! It’s clear a lot of passion went into them and this one is no exception; the art, the music, the lyrics, the flow, it’s all so amazing!!!!
You have a good read on her character.
"I know this isn't what they want, but they are both gone and I live on" WOAHH?? WHAT WOAH HEY THAT IS SO GOOD . AIAUHGGGHHGHH COLLAPSES ON THE GROUND CRYING /POS
I absolutely fell in love with this fan song the moment i felt the density of the lyrics, this is def the best lyrical of ceroba's story
This goes into Ceroba and her lore so perfectly. I love this beyond expression. Youve drawn the picture of her Crippling guilt for Letting chujin work himself to death, Killing her daughter, going against Chunins wishes and trying to use Kanako for the experiment. This is perfect and i dont know how to explain it. Ceroba Is such a perfect character and This fabsong captures everything about he in such a gorgeous and artistic way. Im also going to analyse some parts of the song because im bored.
The title, “me instead” May go into her guilt once again, What if it had been her she used the experiment on instead of Kanako?
The line; “Forgive me my love (0:55) Specifically hit hard and may have multiple different meanings. She may be asking for forgiveness from chujin for wanting to use kanako to continue chujins experiment with clovers soul even if he specifically mentioned not to, For ‘putting her little girl through hell’ (a direct quote from Ceroba in the game) or even calling clover her love because theres a chance she could have Gotten attached to clover and may have became even more reluctant to kill them during their Trip through steamworks.
“An eye for an eye, now we’re both blind” (its in the chorus, but one timestamp is 2:40) the phrase an eye for an eye means ‘The principle of justice that requires punishment equal in kind to the offence’ (from google because im stupid) Ceroba has done multiple Things That relate to this. Shes attacking clover, shes hurt kanako, she hurt Marlet and star befoe fighting clover, and thinks she deserves to have all the pain she’s inflicted on others, Placed back onto her, as if it will cure her guilt forever.
Im going to stop analysing this now im about to cry, So im just going to listen to it on loop until i can recite it perfectly. Brilliant work yet again, this is amazing, a true piece of art and i love it so much.
Yes. With Undertale yellow's new popularity your channel won't be underrated anymore
Absolutely brilliant! You've earned yourself a subscriber. Keep up the incredible work!
such great work. i love your songs😄
bad mother decides to take out her anger on an unaffiliated child: the song
Ceroba wasn’t a bad mother
@@mLj0011 I was thinking the same thing, actually. I mean, she didn't *actually* think that letting her daughter take the serum was a risk, so she thought she was letting her daughter help fulfill her now dead father's dream. That doesn't seem like a bad mother to me.
Just that, she was wrong, and it was a mistake, so... I guess there is that.
@@sgoldendragon3603tbh Ceroba actually put her child in danger affected by emotions. She was told exactly to keep Kanako out of this.
However, she might've not been aware of where the serum has come from and that the soul wasn't pure. Chujin should've kept Ceroba update on his project and not spill everything right before he died
@@mLj0011”hey mom I want the very dangerous serum that might not work and dad directly told you to not test me on”

The song is great and the lyrics are pure poetry. Now this is art!
I love this song it’s tune and tone is amazing

Yet another incredible piece! I really love your style of singing!
Evidentlyfresh giving out hearts: DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, -MOM- DAMMIT
haha don't call me out!! 👀
This is beautiful
This song is the embodiment of what Ceroba is about.
One day, I want to make a video about how much this song works for Ceroba, but it feels just perfectly in line with what she's gone through.
It isn't demonizing what was a forced choice, but shows how she knows it was wrong.
If she had the choice, it would be
Me, Instead.
I LOVE!!!!YOUR MUSIC AHDJAKSJDJKS
I have no words all I can say is this is beautiful but that isn’t enough to describe how good this is
This sounds really beautiful, I do not think their is another way to describe it : )

The music reminds me of Oneshot quite a bit.

Hello! Can this be found on apple music?
it might be another week or so before it's released on other sites and apps! Spotify is just extremely fast at uploading
Can someone give me the plot of this AU? Please?
It's not an AU. It's a prequel. You play as the Yellow Soul human.
It's a fanmade prequel where you play as Clover, who is based on the yellow soul seen in Undertale who is looking for the previous humans, this character in the song is Ceroba a character who appears in the middle half of the game she lost her husband due to his self experimentation and her daughter was put into a comatose state due a flawed serum which would help monsters become boss monsters. She needs Clover's soul in the pacifist route as a pure human soul is supposed to be part of a perfected serum that will save her daughter but she is regretful about it though as she and Clover sorta bond with one another during the second half of the game in the pacifist route.
I’m Ceroba’s adopted child
Cannon voice.
Why do you sound exactly just like NightCove _theFox?, its so weird😭
👍
Spanish please........ Love song❤❤❤❤
Do an Hollow Knight one
hi ebin
this song is about rain world artificer
This song is amazing.
Now can i say i don't feel sympathy for Ceroba, at all? It's her own fault kanako fell down, sure kanako asked her to use the syrum on her, but ceroba is the parent here. Ceroba very much could have, and *_should_* have just said no to kanako, instead she causes kanako to fall down, despite Chujin's ONE request, and then how does she fix this mistake? By attempting to kill a child. Also she hurt martlet. I almost killed her at the end of pacifist, in fact, i did, but reloaded to spare her.
Again, wonderful song.
You forgot that Ceroba let the same mistake that ruined her life happen right in front of her eyes, by letting Clover sacrifice their soul just like how she allowed Kanako to take the Serum
@invasor-x true, but i still don't think I'll ever feel sympathy for her, as what she did was extremely avoidable, if she just listened to Chujin, kanako would still be fine. Imo, i think ceroba is a greatly written character, and i don't hate her by any means, i just wont ever feel sympathy for her.
Oh and she hurt martlet so.
@@Pug3058 I was agreeing with you tho
I was just saying that Ceroba is even dumber once you realize that she let the thing that ruined her life happen twice, the paralels between Kanako's and Clover's actions are too obvious
@@invasor-x yea
My reaction to her is love/hate. Talking to her in the Steamworks makes it clear that she has a genuine personality at heart - she is perceptive of both herself and others, understands morality, doesn't lie (she prefers to mislead by telling you only *part* of the truth), and is a very loyal person.
The problem with her is how she allows her obsessions to cloud her judgement. Her loyalty to Chujin simply goes too far, causes her to abandon morality in favor of her loyalty to him, literally to the point of blind faith. It's that blind faith that killed Kanako.
Make no mistake: her actions are absolutely despicable, and I'm not one to overlook the attempted murder of an innocent. I understand her motivation, but I equally have no inclination to simply forgive and forget what she's done.
WE'RE GETTING OUT OF THE WILD EAST WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥
