If I ordered something and I got a text telling me I missed the delivery, I always delete that text and shoot on over to the website, login, and then check the status of the delivery. This is a unmistakeably way to make certain of your delivery and to avoid those scams altogether. Well informed, Britec. Right you are about educating people about these scams--especially the more vulnerable ones. Good advice for we who know how to spot these types of dangerous messages.
Great video! Everyone needs to understand just how these scammers work and how not to respond to suspicious texts or emails. I have something like this showing up on my phone on a regular basis and I just delete. Stay safe everyone.
USE COMMON SENSE!!! Anything/Anyone you DON’T know or recognize, just delete right off. If it claims to be your Bank, call your bank’s client call center. Recently in my area ( Montreal Canada) we are getting texts that simply say “Hi”, and some women’s name as source. Delete immediately.
We've had lots of phishing texts recently and now we contact the real people or bank to find out if it came from them, I'll share this video with everyone I know, thanks Brian. 😎 👍
Spooky. Whilst watching this, my phone get a text informing me my Apple wallet had been suspended. Thanks Brian. Wouldn’t have responded anyway as don’t have an Apple wallet.
Yesterday alone I got 18 phone calls and 3 text messages. I put my phone on *Do Not Disturb* with exceptions for *Contacts Only* !!! No more Fake Rings !!!
Outstanding video Brian many thanks. I myself am usually very cautious but even though I am cautious it is good to have a constant reminder and with solutions to check.
Yes Brian I often get the free coupons for seniors in my emails and a host of other dodgy-looking stuff so but my Eset Smart Security is very good at picking these out if I accidentally hit on one of these scumbags sites. Just as an add on a video on debloating the Edge browser would be good.
Google Message Spam Protection works pretty well and I don't have to worry about it. The Google Phone and Samsung Phone app both work great for me to identify and block spam calls.
Thank You Sir There also alot more Scammer on utube now i see in Comments Downloading channels Profile pic and saying you won a prize One think i feel google as to remove i In the setting there option where u can have a nickname That where i think alot of the scammer are using the channel name I not sure, Just think that how there doing it Thank u Again for your video,s Sir Take Care
There are some simple steps you can take. Use only a desktop to deal with finances... Use only a specific desktop and a specific browser and ONLY use that specific browser for business... make an e-mail that is ONLY for finance
Thanks.. I'm with Vodafone & always get messages about upgrading or offers & some telling me they are going to call me.. I'm unsure about those now . 🤔
Every day on UA-cam there are scams to get you into cryptocurrency. I report them regularly and have written to YT explaining how they work, but to no avail. They never cease.
Brian HELP ALERT Request. My right-click menu on Win 11 Pro has become a mess (possibly corrupted) and also made worse by redundant links. Can you recommend a safe RCM editor/utility that will delete selection(s) and allow to be re-sorted. I'm nervous of approaching the Chrome Web Store as I prefer to keep extensions to a minimum for security reasons. Reg Edit is also a big no-no. Be happy even just to restore the default layout. Ta mate.
I installed 4Gb x 2 ram sticks in my laptop with DDR3 1066MHZ BUT it running so slow. I tried to use one the speed want back to normal. I wish to use 8GB but it is clear my PC was too slow to work with and moreover the CPU usage was 100 % all the time. I tried to slow it from The bois but there no way for that. I'm using an old LG laptop from 2011 with an intel i3 390m 2.66Mhz I thought of buying an i7 640m but I'm afraid of not working on my laptop What should I do?
A bank called me the other day about an account going dormant and left a message, not a text. I called the bank and talked to the person who called me. She sent me a new debit card and kept the account from going dormant, all without asking for ANY personal information. This is how it's supposed to happen. Never use unsolicited links and never give out personal info to anyone who YOU didn't call.
Also do not answer any 'yes' or 'no' questions. It's their way of knowing if the phone line is still active for others to call or text. Search 'Scambaiters' on UA-cam to see how some of these scammers operate.
Evri formerly known as Hermes. Incidentally I've had a few of these texts lately I just deleted them immediately I can see how some could fall for them especially if they are expecting a parcel delivery .
Brian, I have a app called Scam shield on my cell phone... I got this app throughT- Mobile ( my cell phone service) But,I also delete the text message as soon as I receive it
They are targeting certain UA-cam channels now....so I follow quite a few tech reviews and this one person replied to me telling me I'd won a giveaway and to text him on telegram. To be clear it appears to be the same guy who runs the channel.....anyway i go to Telegram and start a conversation with someone I am assuming is this UA-camr....he starts by asking how long I've been following him etc...then he said I'd won an iPhone Pro Max and a Macbook Pro (red flag) .Anyway I said I'd get back to him and checked with the real guy on Twitter and I found out that many of his followers had sent money for postage BUT there was no giveaway.... this was not the first time....another guy impersonated another UA-camr offering giveaways and they use always use telegram

I run windows sandbox and visit the websites, I have a bit of fun with them.

Glad you enjoyed
I got a call that I knew was a scam because it was from my phone number. I answered it out of shock and heard a recording in Chinese 😜
For some unknown reason, all my spam calls & text messages have stopped. In Australia.
Maybe they are not targeting that area as much

The number will be displayed up to left, but no one contacts you in this way.

I never talk to the bank on the phone, I make an appointment. never know 100% who your talking to and giving them information before they talk to you.
