@@TacticalKeyboardOperator if you reread my comment I wasn't talking about any roll cage 😂😂 I was talking about how he doesn't have a net and his arm through out the window because the wreck was so bad he passed out and went limp
Hi, no I don't race any more, not because of the crash but financial reasons. I was racing on a very tight budget and this crash wiped out my savings and a lot more, I was off work for 4 months unpaid. The crash was due to an unfortunate series of events and it's very rare for this to happen especially on the road. Hope you have fun with your roadster.
It wouldn't have done much good considering that the door catch failed. The MX5 doors are frameless too so there would be some issues installing one, unless you compromise your ability to quickly exit the car.
Nonesene! The net gets installed to the roll bar and top door bar (lower rollbar). There is no way that net is coming off. There is also a center net that goes between the roll bar/harness bar, and a spec 8 eye bolt that comes through the center of the dash. You see enough wrecks and you wont run without those
Sebmeister window nets would have done nothing.... in open wheel racing, we wear arm restraints to keep our arms from coming out of the car. those should be required in any car that has an open top or doors etc. I never drive a racecar without them and I've flipped over quite a few cars (open wheel)
@@jstewart627 No I don’t appear to have any side effects from the accident, everything repaired ok. I had dizzy spells for quite a while after, especially when I looked up, but they stopped after about 6 months.

@keborylam The Safety Devices roll cage is higher so a hardtop cannot be fitted, it gives extra clearance above the drivers head so you can use the standard seat mountings, my helmet did not make contact with the roll cage and was not damaged. Unfortunately it's not until you have or see an accident like this that you do things to make it safer, arm restraints are compulsory for next season so it should protect drivers arms in the future especially when their unconscious.
Under Ma5da racing regulations the MX5 must remain standard, there are very few mods that you can do including GAZ coil over shocks, cylinder head skim and cold air inlet pipe. If you check out the ma5da racing website you will find more info.

Didn't he learn anything from Initial D? Only the AE86 Corolla can pull off the 'gutter-rub' technique. As was proven in stage 4, Miatas tend to roll attempting such maneuvers. Case in point..
Ouch. That was a bad one, I was wishing you could pull your arm in before it went under the roll cage but I suspect you were unconscious for a good few seconds before it finally came to rest. Glad you got out without too much damage, hope you never had to go through anything like that again.
I can't thank you enough for posting this video. I may not ever be able to unsee the flopping around, but I think you probably just added a few seconds to my lap times! LOL
