Happy Birthday to Mama. It was a bit painful for me to watch this. Almost $1,000 for ONE meal? I understand that the son wanted to do something nice for his mother but if I were her I think I would rather eat a $20 meal and take the $900 I saved and either continue saving it or spend it elsewhere and get something that would last me a while. I know that one item that cost a LOT was the bird's nest soup. I have seen them harvesting the bird's nests and they climb way up the face of a cliff to retrieve these nests. I don't think I would care how much they cost because I do not think I would be interested in eating a bird's nest. I guess if Mama enjoyed herself she may think it was worth this price but it just makes me cringe.

Its not just like what u said, purposely doing nice for his mother. If u given one bowl of free bird nest soup, u will be super interested in it.
