Just about to get mine now . But first I wanted to thank you Tony .
Thanks hope you enjoy using it
AMAZING thank you this will help me a lot for next season. I had 8 containers of main-crop potatoes (I followed your guide) unfortunately 4 of them got blight so I had to remove them.
Oh sorry about the blight its been so wet this year
We are so impressed with your dedication to this project and especially that you are making your data base free for us. Bless your heart! Bless your life! Bless your gardens.
Love your videos and your generous sharing of your experience and knowledge. Thank you so much.
Wow, thank you!
Your database is massive, which is amazing but also a bit overwhelming. Perhaps a filter/sort feature for search results would help. I can see you put a ton of work into this. I will be sharing. Thank you! 😊
Thanks as I stated in the video this tool will continue to evolve as I get more time to invest into it, eventually it will have more information and pictures as well as more search feautures but i wanted to get a tool out thats works for now
I'm sorry mate, it's probably just me but I can't get this to work.@@simplifygardening
Hi Tony. I've had a go at growing potatoes in containers like your video! And I think I've put a wee bit too much liquid seaweed on them when I watered them last week! A few leaves have got a few brown tips or edges and some others have small brown spots! I've flushed them quite a few times with plenty of water! Can you recommend anything else I can do! Your advice would be much appreciated! Cheers Joe
you may have over fertilized always better to under fertilise than over
Thanks Tony but not getting anything back from the varieties I'm growing. Baltic Rose, Natascha, Purple Viking, Katahdin, and Canela Russet.
Leave them with me I will get them added
I want that shirt ! 😊
Ha ha
Where did you get that shirt? I need one!
Hello Tom looking for your advice, my rhubarb stems are covered with a very clears rubbery substance just looks like very clears sticky plastic can you tell me what this is.Thank You Great Vidios
Thank you Tony. I searched & searched but couldn't find Tesco's Value brand selling for 15p for 2kg at Xmas.
Lmao I will have to get that added for you
Hi Tony. Thanx for your great work in putting this together!
I've entered the password, but cannot get any further, I just get back to the sign in again.
By the way my favorite home guard first earliest have been rubbish this year. I've left a couple of tubs unharvested to see if the will sprout again and maybe give something for Christmas!
When you get your code below it as i said in the video is the link to the tool
Hi Tony
I'm receiving the newsletter but not received the password..checked spam filters all ok...what have i done wrong😊
The Password should have come in the confirmation screen. sign to it again and as soon as you click send you will get a popup screen, this will have your password and the link to get to the tool. you wont be added twice to everything it will just send you your details
You have my favourite Dutch Cream I couldn’t believe it. Tony my advice had been to charge to use. So thank you for your generosity.
One question is it an app. I got to enter the password and put my search but then it’s gone. Do I just keep using the same password or is there something I’m supposed to have downloaded. Thanks from an oldie down under
Yes Avril just keep using the link and password you have. but it should just open up once you have done it. Maybe it will become a full app later who knows. Oh your the community spotlight in the newsletter Monday too
Hi Tony
I have accessed the tool but there is no App to download.
The top picture shows an App.
Is there supposed to be an or just a tool for searching potatoe variety and info.
Thanks
On the screen with your passcode there is a link below it
I NEED that shirt!!!
👍😂👍
Ha ha thanks
Thanks for the awesome tool. However, I tried to search for Big Rossa (a.k.a. BigRossa), a tasty red-skinned potato I got from a local farmer, and I couldn't find it in the database. Any chance you could add info on this one?
Thats now in the database for you,. enjoy
Is the tool good for Australia?.
It is and if u dont find what your looking for let me know
I put potato skins which some has eyes on them in a compost pot and they are growing plenty of plants. I wonder if it will make potato's but if it grown one dos not need to waste a entire potato. Maybe you should try that out?
Ive already done this and grew 71lbs of potatoes. check it out ua-cam.com/video/Zs1lKDvyBDY/v-deo.html
Can you plant potatoes year round in sacks ?
depends where you live. but if you have frosts they would need to be grown inside with artificial lighting and im not sure that would be worth the cost
Any way to get these containers in the US?
Im seeing if I can drop ship them through amazon but there are a few barriers in my way atm. im trying though
Hi everybody
Hey
i wonder if it could help to have light coloured pots when you have a dry hot year like last year.black pots heat up in the sun
They do heat up thats the beauty they warm up early when there is no foliage that gets them going, byt the time the heat is around the foliage is shading the pots
It wasn't dry and hot in the UK last year. You need sun to warm buckets and we've had none this year. Whatever you have you can put something in front of them to shade them if needed.
Never a truer word spoken - on your tshirt lol
like apatchie
buy earlier your losing out to thise who purchased already
Do you buy seed potatoes or do you store your potatoes to seed?
I mostly keep my own
I've got the password, now how do I get to the database?
Reg I did expplain int he video when you get the password underneath that is the link to the tool. If you cant find it put your email in again you will get the same password but it will contain the link
We know why it keeps raining in July, don’t we!
Yup
will not help getting potato in spring which is main problem i have
No it wont but buy them in Jan not spring
Does the password come via email?
@@catpurple7 it’s provided along with a link to the app in the response to you putting your email in right away there should be no need to log into your email
@@simplifygardening I'm not getting a link, just goes back to where I have to put my name and email in 🤔
I don't mean to be a jack-ass here but why wont the password feature work without ticking the newsletter... that's a bit of a corporate a-hole move.
Because my software doesnt allow it. However, You will be able to unsub the newsletter in the very first copy you get
@@simplifygardening It's free and still they moan......
@@lksf9820 Sorry for the delay, no its not a moan.. its's just an minor irritation due to the endless data gathering big corps do.. Tony will probably recognise my user name i comment often and love what he does and enjoy buying some of his books. It's purely me being ever more cautious of giving up data lol im sure you can understand that.
my potatoes where awful this year, all in pots like yours, absolute disaster.
It might be this weather. Im not holding much hope, But im hearing similar stories from the ground grown too. Its been so cold and poor light levels
In what respect? Four 1st early seed potatoes in a 30L bucket yielded 800g for me which was pathetic, 2nd earlies were about 1 - 1.3 kg which is ok, but a bit crap. Quality was good though. Cold weather I think and will be leaving some in the PT next year if it's like this again to have a comparison.
I had 16k from 5 30 ltr buckets of Swift first earlies . My first time growing so no idea whether good or bad🤔
well done on the 450 pounds thumbs up that is a fabulous effort!🫡
Thanks
