36:18 I didn't know that in the age of pirates South America was called Africa!! Learn something new every day! This really seems like a neat game. Good combination of interesting cardplay and exploration. Lots of crossover with Mage Knight in a good way.
Your game explanations are clear, concise and make me want to buy most games. I need to stop watching, but I can’t!!! Thanks as always. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for doing the cooperative game, Collin. I watched Markus' play through, but wanted to see how the co-op version plays, so I really appreciate you doing this!
Maracaibo is in South America, not Africa. Was one of my favorite targets in the old Sid Meier pirate game. Like the art work on the cards and the map. Another nice play thru.
This looks like so much fun! I never would have given this game a second look, thanks for spreading the word about it. Definitely deserves some attention!
Always room for a good pirate game! As for next play-through, I thought I remembered you doing a play of Dawn of the Zeds. I can't find it though. Victory Point Games are going to have a KS campaign for it in July, so a play-through would be timely.
I love pirate games and besides Rum and Bones and Merchants and Marauders (and a few others), it's not a very overused theme. The game does remind me of Mage Knight and that can only be a positive thing. I LOVE that 12 sided dice. It's boss. I like what you've shown so far.
Love pirate themes. I'd be really interested in how this measures up with Merchants and Marauders (my favorite pirate themed game). At first glance it seems way more focused on combat (but that doesn't bother me). Also, Sid Mier's Pirates! one of of the very first game I played way back in the day. I contribute that game to my love of piratey things.
Oh cool, Sid Mier's and merchants and marauders! I haven't played either so you are going to have to let me know how this compares. Thanks for watching!
Those are part of the map, and I will say the video makes it pronounced, trying to change that for the next one but I have limited lighting since I am not recording in my normal space! Sorry about that. Thanks for watching Paul!!
@@OneStopCoopShop Nice Swag! The only thing I don't care for is the token art is cartoony. But if the game is good I could get used to it. It gets good reviews. Thanks for showing it.
Always a fan of pirate combat games. Is the map hard to read? Maybe just on video but it looks a bit busy, with all of the art on it. Thanks for another great vid and look forward to the rest of this play through.
The map is not too hard once you get used to it. The hardest part is trying to figure all the different land spaces within a water space. Still it is not too hard overall. Thanks so much for watching!
Colin, if I watch any more of your videos, my wife is going to cut up my Credit Card. TY for continuing this series on the Pirate Republic. Can I suggest a monthly update focused on your current favorite KickStarters? I know others do it, but instead of a general overview, a more personalized solo overview? You have a way of finding hidden gems and navigating the hype is tiresome. Anyways, Keep it Up! Edit: that board is huge and those dice....clunk, love it!
Jack, thank you for the note, and I sometimes have the same problem with my credit card hahahaha! Steve and I do a section in our podcasts to talk about upcoming Kickstarters that are specifically for solo or co-op. Are you looking for something more than that? My problem is I don't have enough time in the day to do all of this while having a full time job :( Otherwise I would totally do a vid every couple of weeks. Regardless I LOVE the dice as well, nice and chunky!
I do like the One Stop Co-op Shop podcast. Will you talk about the upcoming Thunderstone Quest which will add solo and co-op and Dawn of the Zeds reprints on Kickstarter?
Colin, thanks for all the playthroughs! during the dual ship token combat should you not have defended instead of rolling the initiative die for the second ship?
You got it! I have a Klingon Subtitle mentioning this. I will also mention in the next video once I get my voice back haha! blasted colds you get from your kids! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for watching Thomas! Yeah I agree on the deterministic feel of the game. The initiative die can be brutal too. I get you on the price tag, but there is a lot of game there, and tons of components.
Looks great! I like the lore on the chaos cards. This game totally needs a "Sea monsters" expansion... if you land on the Kraken you loose swagger and crew but get some rare artifacts... Men... mi brain is not set for non sci-fi/fantasy games...
I'm on the fence for this one, your so lucky with the dice that the luck factor dont seem to be a problem with this game. But i can imagine if you always lose the initiative... Somehow, this game remind me of Xia with a pirate theme, dont know why. As always, great playthrough.
Hey man long time no talk!! So it hasn't happened yet but if you don't have initiative you can run away. This helps if you don't want to waste your time with a defense. But I agree the initiative die I am not a huge fan of... thanks for watching!
One Stop Co-op Shop haha. Glad i could brighten up the monotony that is work. I've just finished, sun is out, for a change in Scotland, alcohol getting cracked open in a mo! Yalday! You Americans don't know how lucky you are with all that sun. Its an event when we get it and we've had it for a week straight now. That NEVER happens. Haha
Mark! I am jealous sounds awesome!! Granted, we are camping as a family this weekend so we will get plenty of sun. I live up north in Minnesota, so during the summer, the sun is out from about 5am until 10pm at night. It is wonderful. But the winter we have only about 6 hours of daylight so there is a trade-off. And the BAD thing about the sun being up so late is that the kiddos don't want to go to bed! "Daddy the sun isn't sleeping so neither should I!" Hahahaha that is the 4 yr old!
One Stop Co-op Shop hahahaha. Same with my youngest. He think's it's still day time during the summer when it's late. Hope you have a grwat camoing trio, sounds magic. Edinburgh for me tomorrow to see Wicked and visit the Dungeons! Kid free! YAAAS!
To be pendentic, Colin is talking about the 2nd *version* of the rulebook, not the 2nd edition. A 2nd edition would be something new. The 2nd version is the same thing except with corrections and tweaks. And BTW, the 2nd version (draft) is on the streets now. Can find it via the forums on BGG.
I have been watching this game for a while. Enjoying the play through. Would love to win a copy of this one and it would be so cool to win it from you. Thanks for the giveaway.
I haven't seen your channel before, and even though the Danish flag was missed by you, I forgive you :) This looks very interesting, and I' wish I had backed it, also are the "coins" something that came with the game or are they part of the Kickstarter? it does feel like there is a bit over exposure of the color on the video, as your hands look really red on my screen - could just be my screen :D
Thank you for the forgiveness and for watching the channel! Problem with the lighting is on my end, the board is big and I use floor lamps that probably provide a red tinge. Regardless it is a fun game so thanks so much for watching!! Coins are kickstarter exclusive.
It does have a true solo mode, but it is a beat your own score then. The cooperative provides goals, which I think you could try and use for solo only, it just might be harder!
I played Francis Drake 4 player - excellent game. Interesting game play of pushing ahead to obtain quality rewards vs going slow and accumulating more rewards. Production quality was beautiful. Realize competitive games are not your jam.
I really like this one it absolutely have a mage knight vibe as u said on the set up video, my only down side to this great game its the art, the cards look generic to contribute to immersion I wanna see what happens next😆

This really seems like a neat game. Good combination of interesting cardplay and exploration. Lots of crossover with Mage Knight in a good way.
Hahaha I know I know that was bad... if you are looking for a lighter mage knight this works well!!
Your game explanations are clear, concise and make me want to buy most games. I need to stop watching, but I can’t!!! Thanks as always. Keep up the great work.
Hahaha!! Thanks man!!
This game has got me intrigued. It has a somewhat similar feel as Mage Knight, I game I adore.
For sure, totally agree Greg! Thanks for watching!
Thanks! This looks great, a MK feel with pirate theme can't go wrong.
Appreciate you watching!
Thanks for doing the cooperative game, Collin. I watched Markus' play through, but wanted to see how the co-op version plays, so I really appreciate you doing this!
MY pleasure Stasia, thank YOU for watching and commenting as always!!
Maracaibo is in South America, not Africa. Was one of my favorite targets in the old Sid Meier pirate game. Like the art work on the cards and the map. Another nice play thru.
Well that is embarrassing, thanks for that! Thank you very much for watching Don!
Keep up the good work on these videos. We all appreciate the work you put into them.
You know I love it!
This looks like so much fun! I never would have given this game a second look, thanks for spreading the word about it. Definitely deserves some attention!
My pleasure!
You have me curious... Why do you say that you never would have given the game a second look? Is it the theme? Box art? Word of mouth?
bgm 1961 Don’t read too much into my comment, it’s just that I’m more of a dungeon crawl and lcg guy. Maybe it’s time I expanded my horizons. :-)
Lovely looking game, thanks for the playthrough Colin!
My pleasure!
Excellent video buddy! Keeps up the great work!!
Great video, looking forward to more of this :)
Great game, great play through. Thanks for all you do for the hobby

I don't have a play through of that one but good idea!! Jplay has one if you are interested! Thanks for the idea!
Really interesting game! Can't wait for the rest of the playthrough ! Thanks!
I am certainly enjoying it! hope we have a successful round 2! :) Thanks for watching!
You've got me hooked again. As a mage knight fan and also liking this theme I will probably nerd to and this to nu shelf.
glad you are enjoying it!!
Really liking the play-through. This game looks amazing!
thanks for watching!!
Great Video Colin! Pirate theme isn't something that I usually look at, but this one looks interesting.
Thank you for watching Dennis! Actually amazed that these theme is not normally what you go for since our tastes seem to align a lot!
Thanks for all the great videos and thank you for being so generous with a giveaway!
Thank you for watching and my pleasure!

Totally get the Mage Knight feel. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy the 10 sided die, I said 12. . it is only 10 HA!! But it is BOSS! :)
Great Video, looking forward to the next one
Thanks!
Looks like an interesting game, with nicely made components. I'm not normally into naval games but this theme is definitely attractive.
yeah the theme is spot on here. Thanks for watching!
Love pirate themes. I'd be really interested in how this measures up with Merchants and Marauders (my favorite pirate themed game). Get the expansion, Seas of Glory while you're at it
Such a great job explaining this! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Jeff!
Looks like a fun game. Great video as always
Thank you for watching Mike!!
great play through!
Looks great. Are the rust colored blotches in the eastern part of the map something that looks darker on video than in person ?
Those are part of the map, and I will say the video makes it pronounced, trying to change that for the next one but I have limited lighting since I am not recording in my normal space! Sorry about that. Thanks for watching Paul!!
Almost got this game. I love a good pirate theme!
I agree, I love being a pirate in a game!
Have you played Merchants & Marauders? If so, wondering which you'd prefer and why?
Kevin!! Haven't played that one yet. Do you think it is good? Should I look it up?
Very cool! Such a big feel game on a smaller scale
Agreed!
Gotta love those fist size dice :).
totally!
Great video! It answered a lot of my questions.
Awesome thanks! I did a couple things wrong which I will fix in the next video, but regardless thanks for watching!!
Get well soon and get these pirate videos finished! Really interested in this game.
Will do Trey thanks!
Thanks for the cool content! I love the pirate theme!
No problem! Love that theme
Me too!!
Good job. Seems like a game right in my wheel house.
Thank you for watching Eric!

Yes!! I have thunderstone quest and dawn of the zeds so we will mention them for sure!!
Looks awesome. Great video.
Thank you, Michael!
looks like the game play and actions aren't overly complicated
For sure the actions are simple, it is just knowing what to do an interpreting it all that sometimes can get confusing. Thanks for watching!

Hi, like the playthrough until now. Do you know how long the late pledge option is open?
Thank you Frank! Until the end of June is the goal!
