Po Nagar towers (cham towers vietnam) belong to the culture of the ancient people of Cham Pa
They lived in the territory of modern southern and central Vietnam until the 17th century.
And in the 19th century, the Vieta finally absorbed the last territories of what was Champa. There is very little of the cultural heritage of this people left, so the last surviving buildings are treated with special trepidation.
This is a Hindu medieval temple complex dedicated to the goddess Po Nagar (thap ba ponagar nha trang). The architecture consists of three levels, going from bottom to top

This level was intended for meetings with the guests of the temple. There are towers on the top floor. Out of ten, only four towers have survived to this day. They were built at different times, so they differ in architecture and size. Each of the Po Nagar towers (thap ba ponagar) serves to worship a specific deity. Inside the towers-temples, there is a tart aroma of incense that fills the entire confined space. The main and largest tower was built in honor of the goddess Po Nagar. Its height is about 25 m. Inside there is a statue that depicts the goddess Po Nagar herself. Representatives of the Champa people can be seen on the territory of the temple. They protect the temple from destruction, preserve the culture and perform ritual dances as a prayer to the goddess Po Nagar, who brings harvest and relieves poverty.
There is also a small building-museum. There I was impressed by an old photograph. Nha Trang, which shows a view from the hill where the towers are located. You can compare with our days and see how Nha Trang is being rebuilt in recent years.
