People who get so pressed over the joke “not straight kids” are homophobic. You’re extremely homophobic if the possibility of an idol being queer makes your blood boil. And don’t pull the “but it makes them uncomfortable” shit, no, it makes YOU uncomfortable.
I agree with this for stray kids. Stray kids definitely comfortable with shipping and those kind of jokes. But some other groups made it clear that they don’t like shipping. For example:
1)Enhypen’s Jungwon and Jay-> in a livestream jungwon said he and jay are wearing the same item (i forgot what it was but maybe phone case) so the comments were like ‘jaywon jaywon couple item’ and then jungwon said no not couple just the same item. And he added “please don’t say it’s couple item” so they are not comfortable. BUT we don’t know about other members except Sunoo. All fandoms think Sunoo is bi or gay so idk about that
2)Treasure Haruto said ‘man and man is weird’ there was a whole controversy around it and then a translator came up and said he just meant he does not like it but he is not homophobic he just meant with him shipping is weird. So he does not want to be shipped with members but isn’t homophobic. Idk about other members.
Day6 is a band they don’t dance they play instruments. Dowoon is the drummer so he does not sing most of the time
i'm always in such awe with Leeknow vocals and range he improved sooo much he covered this song which is sung by 4 people with all different tones and vocal ranges FLAWLESSLY
You said you like Wonpil's voice. Interesting fact, he is Seungmin's bias. Seungmin loves that guy and is a total fanboy of him (and Day6) 😂
and they also have so many similarities it's kinda crazy. Seungmin is often called myday (day6 fandom) president because of how much he loves Day6 that he even knows their inside jokes lol

Day6 is my favorite band in kpop. They are known for not having a bad discography (you should listen to it yourself) and Lee Know does it very well 💚

Omg, I agree so much - people talking about “don’t assume people’s sexuality” are the only ones EVER truly assuming people’s sexualities. Like people reacting to these type of videos ALWAYS make clarifications like “oh it SEEMS fruity of them😏”, “that looks gay.. I’m not saying they ARE gay, but that’s gay🤷♀️” and so on - they always give everyone “the benefit of the doubt”, implying idols can be either way and it’s okay either way. But people screaming “don’t assume their sexualities” are the only ones who actually say “okay, chill, they’re straight and can’t be any other way”. Like who’s assuming what now?
this is so correct, but the problem is that those people often assume that being straight is not one of many sexualities but instead the "normal", while everything else is being "wrong". Which is ofc bullshit and homophobia, but yeah, i wish people would finally realize that heterosexuality is just one of multiple sexualities and not the untouchable default

Loved the intro rant, good on you! That person is obviously not a true STAY or they would know SKZ are the most inclusive group out there, they even joined in a pride parade that they happened to come across when they were in the US. And they keep their lyrics pretty much gender neutral for a reason right? I think they only have two or three songs that include the word 'girl' and one of those was written for the young Japanese STAY that passed away from cancer.
Lee Know killed that song, I'm so in love with his vocal tone, my absolute favourite, he could easily be the main vocalist of any group. JYPE need to highlight him more, not just his singing but his dancing as well. A true hidden gem.💎💜
I found the whole "Kpop-sounding vocal" interesting because it never occurred to me that Sungjin sounded very Kpop for a vocal. My impression of his voice has always been on the gritty end and allegedly Day6 was formed because of his amazing vocals but hopelessness as a dancer. Btw, Lee Know sounded most similar to Sungjin in his cover, so you definitely have a point. This also reminds me of Jooyeon and Jungsu in Xdinary Heroes: Jooyeon has a very rock sound to him and Jungsu is very K-pop...but they mesh super well and it works for them to appeal to both rock-enthusiasts and Kpop fans who are open to explore. Also, the difference between Seungmin singing SKZ songs vs. that cover of Laundry he did for Masked Singer...the latter literally just gave me "dude who just likes to sing" and if I hadn't known it was him, I wouldn't think it was an idol at all.
Good job on spotting the little details on the OG Day6 song btw. Lee Know and rock is something that I have been hoping to see for sometime now and he certainly did not disappoint. And yup, this is Lee Know's first solo cover and SKZ player as the dude can get really shy it seems. 😅
Sungjin definitely does not sound kpop. He suits rock songs best because of the rasp and grittiness to his voice but it probably did not translate well in this recording??? Idk

I'm so happy we got to hear Lee Know's vocals more recently. First, in Want So Bad his voice shined so much, his falsetto and head voice in general were so clean and well-controlled. And now in Day6 cover, he's even more diverse.
Ah yes, another example of casual homophobia among k-pop fans - any association with lgbtq+ is somehow making idols look "wrong" in their eyes and attacking people for even joking about it when they confidently assume they can only be straight 🙄The hypocrisy of it all. And doing it under SKZ video too - the guys who are fruity 24/7 and are obviously comfortable with people joking about it, supportive of their lgbtq+ fans, inclusive with their lyrics, etc.

I GET IT Lee Know went straight to my playlist (had to download the cover 😂) and has been on repeat since yesterday. This song suits him so much it's SO GOOD. I'm loving seeing more content from him because his voice is so good and doesn't get to shine as much in OT8 songs (like all of them, what with them having to distribute parts and all - which is why I loooove their unit or solo stuff).

Actually he has been everywhere in Korea these days lmao.They are the first band under jyp and is the first band in Korea who had all members as main vocals and still play instruments (minus the drummer, but he does sing occasionally). They are well known for the mantra "trust and listen to day6" because of how good their songs are that when they make a comeback, fans and casual listeners would automatically think that it's gonna be a good song. They're known for not having bad songs at all in their entire discography (yes, approved by the kpop community). They also write and compose their songs since their debut. Their song You were beautiful is WIDELY known in Korea that even non-kpop fans knows it because of how popular it is. It recently went back to the melon chart top 100 despite it being released 7 years ago. And that's a big deal because it's not easy even for current active groups to chart in the top 100, what more for a 7 year old song. Not to mention that melon hates jyp groups so much because jyp called out melon before for chart manipulation, ever since then, jyp groups had a harder time to chart on melon and if they do, their ranks could've been much higher if melon wasn't being petty. But day6 is currently on top 30 and is still rising, everyone in Korea knows the song so it'll be harder for melon to manipulate their ranking. Btw they have 2 songs under the top 100 with Time of our life being not so behind You were beautiful. That song was released 5 years ago! It's insane to think about how a group can have 2 old songs in the top 100, top 50 even. Love me or leave (who was in top 10 on melon during it's released, released 4 years ago) also re-entered the charts a few weeks ago. It landed on #954 and it continued rising because a day after they came back to the charts, day6 released their official love me or leave live performance from their recent concert. It continued to rise over a hundred rank after Minho released this cover. I think this is the perfect timing to check out day6 because they will be coming back in March after 4 years of hiatus! everyone's literally anticipating it. I can't wait😭
also interesting how you said that Sungjin had the most kpop voice cuz he definitely does not lol. He has this emotional, powerful and raspy voice. Maybe it's just through this song that he sounded like that, but definitely not for most of their songs.

I squealed so much when I saw this cover drop, solo Lee Know is like a dream come true. I love his voice, it’s so clean and soft with the slightest hint of vibrato. He can’t showcase it easily outside of ballads, so I love that he chose this to cover. His tone is actually quite well suited for Day6 songs, I think.
I encourage you to listen to more Day6! Not only are they wonderful with not a single bad song in their discography, but Seungmin is such a huge Day6 fan, and if a vocalist like Seungmin is a fan, you have to believe their vocals (and their music!) are top tier!

DAY6!!!! They`re amazing! They have a lot of different styles of music (some of the songs have anime vibe, some of them emotional, some have a retro style...) They have 4 lead vocalists!! Their vocal range is awesome! I`d advise you to check: "Shoot Me", "How Can I Say", "If". Honestly, it so hard to choose TOP 3 of their MV`s cos ALL THEIR SONGS ARE TOP OF THE TOP.

I've been thinking about how MUCH we need more Lee Know solos for days and then he dropped this !!! I was so excited! Sometimes I just want to hear more of his vocals cuz his voice is so beautiful, this was such a blessing. It's hard to believe he only had one solo before this. I hope he will sing more in the future!

Young K is also a solo artist and one of the most talented people in the whole entertainment industry I guess. Almost all DAY6 songs were written by him. You should see his "Young One" playlist (it`s covers, mostly in English) to hear his voice colors and the vocal range. He`s definitely a great professional! A lot of popular K-pop Idols/artists are Young K fans! And YES, he was one of producers of "King of karaoke: VS".

Jae has a voice that is very soothing and is very lightweight if you know what i mean. He usually has the least lines on their songs, I believe. He is my bias.
Sungjin is the leader. He has a voice that is like that of a rockstar, very raspy. He is usually the parts when the group wants more punch on that part.
Young K, I think you're familiar with him because he is on one radio show thingy. He hosts that show. He has that normal voice at first when you listen to them but actually, he has the most range out of all of them. He can go very low to very high real quick effortlessly. I grew to love him more the more I listen to day6.
Wonpil, I think you got what's special with him. He also has that nasally beautiful voice that gives contrast to their music. He is loved by many.
Dowoon, is the drummer. He rarely sings, but if he does, he has the voice of what you expected with wonpil. Very low baritone.

It's pretty funny cuz Felix personally joked about not straight kids, and when stay asked him about his ideal persona, he said that if it was a man, that it was Changbin, and if it was a girl, then it's stay. They made a video themselves where they kind of go on dates with each other, and in Chan's last clip there is an LGBTQ+ flag at the very beginning. I'm just saying that regardless of their orientation, they obviously don't mind so much if someone thinks they're not straight.
