Love your outdoor kitchen! Fellow nurse here, been following you from the start of your channel. You & your family are inspiring. I agree things are looking bleak 😢
For the bugs...try cinnamon and lemongrass essential oils mixed into coconut oil, let is solidify and then rub on your skin before going out. Works just as good as deet and isn't toxic., plus is smells great and softens your skin too!
Hi Allison, I'm glad you went with the advice I gave you long ago (though I don't know if you remember it specifically 😅) of using a propane tank and a gas burner on the floor to can outside! That's the way many of us here in Italy can tomatoes during summer! I'm loooking forward to some new videos, especially during my favourite season, autumn. Cheers, Davide
It’s both! The honey can be added to tea or just taken by the spoonful and the garlic can be added to recipes. I actually wrote a paper on the medical benefits of garlic though… just eating garlic is helpful against viruses.
Wow Allison, so impressed not only with the outdoor kitchen but also with all the homesteading skills you have aquired! Black raspberries are the most nutritious. The turkey tail mushrooms have "magical powers." What do you use the fermented garlic for? Your food is going to be far superior to anything you can buy and with no added modifications or poison! Your canning looks amazing. I always used to get my kids up, and we would go outside, laying on top of the picnic table to watch the Persaids. Great memories and traditions. I know it seems bleak out there, but there are some indications that a new world is nearly here. It's all just a bit covert right now. 🇺🇸🪖 Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you ❤️❤️ I’ll use the garlic for cooking and the honey for colds/allergies 😊 last year we took the kids camping for the meteors. We had the rain cover off so it was just a screen. Set an alarm for 2am and the kids just needed to open their eyes from the comfort of their sleeping bags. It was so beautiful 💗
👍
Great work and excellent idea!!
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip, sounds amazing actually!
Sounds like the one I use in my garden in Ireland, citronella, lavender and lemongrass. Works on the biting midges here in the west 👍

I do! It worked very well and was nice to just be outside and not cook ourselves out of the cabin!
Do you use the honey fermented garlic medicinally, or is it used in cooking ?
