Great personas! I came across you guys from a Facebook post and I'm glad I have. Super content and a natural interaction with the each other. I can't wait to dive in to more of your work.
This game looks great fun. Sadly my hobby funds are tied up with Blood Red Skies, Tanks, and Star Wars Legion. Looking forward to more battle reports on the high seas :)
Game is a waste of time except for Warlord Games making money, If you like historical fiction then this is the game for you. The game evolves into a skirmish game with ship. There is so much wrong with the system I won't even take the time to comment.
I suspect it is aimed at being a fun game rather than a historical simulation. When you say 'wrong with the system' do you mean not realistic? Or do you mean the game is bad, rules make no sense etc.?
@@Subcomandante73 Not sure how people can split between a "fun" game and simulation. When you place a Brit 74 gun Frigate in 1800 there are certain factors that make that the frigate it is you can't willy nilly chose what to exclude and include. Minor things like Physics , statistics, memoirs and surviving ships cannot just be ignored for the sake of fun. So what's wrong. Ship sailing tactics wrong, Gunnery ranges, rates of fire and hit probability wrong, ammo and critical hits wrong. With these issues you are not playing an Age of Sail game. You're playing something . Really you can just sub space ships, row boats or Warhammer for that manner. Ships sailing around in a skirmish manner without commanders or orders is not an Age of Sail game . The above issues are easily addressed and not overly complicated. What would I like to see happen is all these Age of Sail players start reading history books and memoirs of the era their interested in.
@@ModellingforAdvantage Sorry to hear you dropped out of the pack of historical gamers. Has skirmish games become you new favorite? :)) You can always join the 2 hour war gaming club.
@@charlesrowan1978 ultimately it is never going to be 'right'. At a cettain point in your research into historical periods you realise the things that commanders thought made a difference on the day are not on the chart of modifiers. Histotical battles seem more about will, pressure and initiative rather than fighting and shooting. They are also always fought with much wider political considerations. In the end I am willing to make many concessions to simulation in aid of speed an simplicity. Maybe that will chnage back over time, but for now 2 hour wargames sounds pretty good to me.

Most kind of you to say so.
Thanks! We actually hate each other, but we're too professional to show it on Camera!

I got the game, really good. Hope you guys continue. Also these type of games are attracting new amateur Admirals and Generals to the guild!
Definitely doing a few more games at least.
Yay battle boaties!!!!
FYI..... I have exciting wind too.
No doubt!
The wind was very exciting!

Still early days. Decent game so far, but we will have to see as we scale up over the coming months.
Gotta love a good critical hit table!
It is a pretty big part of this game it seems.
Very tempted with this game, but must reduce the mountain first
I hear that brother.
The ships are a bit of a commitment, so definitely don't add them to the pile till you're ready
I wish they would’ve made critical cards or something rather than book look ups
Yeah, makes sense.

Each to their own. Simplicity is important to me these days with my games. I used to crave accuracy. Now I crave fun, with dice and pretty models.
