I think choosing an Ellie was pretty understandable, because Deviant doesn't have good liveries. Even without any livery and with proper secondary colors it still feels too plain.

It's a shame Rockstar didn't give us another version of Deviant with more customization options, off-road kit and dropkick livery. Would be so badass. I remember vanillaworks livery pack used to have one for Deviant with Dropkick theme. Sadly it doesn't work anymore, but someone else's taken control over the development so fingers crossed.
