    I bought the exact same rack earlier this year. It was perfect for me too! Really like Middle Atlantic racks as well.

    I built my own wooden rack and this prefab one is making me considering replacing it. Super nice layout!

      I built my own and it works but a prefab one has many advantages.

    Its possible to get releasable zip ties as well. I live in a condo apartment. We have to move every couple of years when the landlord increases the rents here in Toronto by 25%. SO nothing is permanent for us. U use Velcro for most tie-downs ad releasable zip ties when neatness counts. I store them in a fishing tack box and document their locations on a wiring diagram that I make in vision. Every shelf is labelled and divided into six spaces on the left and F on the right support post and the shelf is divided into five segments. So Velcro goes into A1, or A2, or A3. The tackle box is divided the same way the first row of the top box is A1, and the second row of the top box is A2. This means I can quickly pack and unpack a system in a few minutes and then figure out where everything goes. Devices also get labels AMP001 or RCV001, BLU001, DVD001. This gets used on the shelf which gets the same device label. The rack cabinet get RCK001 (I have seven racks in the house. 3 audio and 3 home lab servers, and one telecom rack labelled TEL001). If you contact the manufacturers, they can usually provide can elements for each piece of equipment front and back. then you just drop them into you shape library and onto your diagram,. The same applies to the rack and shelves). Initial setup and diagramming takes time but it's handy when the cable guy comes over and wants to know where the demarcation is and how it connects to your home network. I also label cables the same way. One end would be rec001-01 and the other end would be AMP001-01.

    Nice I’m also running Marantz and Rotel, and a UB820. No rack yet. I like tech, so home theatre in next house will have a rack built into the back wall with a tinted window so you can just about make out the lights.

    Would it be difficult to make a video showing all of the wiring step by step? Like how you ran the speaker wires from beginning to end.. or do you already have a video showing that?

    Well done as always my guy. You will enjoy that set up for a long long long time.

    Quick question. I’m getting into av racks for the first time. For the shelves, I see you screw in the front screws to the mounting hardware, however it looks like some of the shelves are just hanging in thin air 😅? Wouldn’t that be a huge amount of torque pulling downward? Or am I missing that you attached something to support the rear of the amps as well?

    I need some assistance. I have cable box and a Roku, should both connect through the receiver first. But, when we want to just watch news or a TV show without going through all of our speakers how would we make this connection? We’d just like to use the TV’s speakers for news programs and regular TV shows. And is it possible to set up the receiver so that when we turn on the Roku box it “triggers” the receiver to come on automatically? Our receiver is a Marantz SR5010. Thx

    Hi Mark, I noticed that the MR 5100 has 4 high current outlets which you more than likely plugged the three amplifiers in, my question is if I have the M5400-PM which only has two high current outlets how would I go about connecting the same three amplifiers to the unit?

    Good day. Can u please assist me. I hooked up a line out converter to my stock radio. I have a monoblock amplifier and hooked up the wires to my stock front speaker wires. Because i have a monoblock amplifier, must i put the 2 positief wires together and the 2 negative wires together on one front speaker? Or must i use both front speakers to hook up the line out converter? I hope u understand. I have a monoblock amp with 1 set of subwoofer speaker wire

    New follower with tons of questions. 2013 Jeep Wrangler 4 door. Which size sub woofer should I be looking for. Only going with one sub. Thinking of a down firing box since I usually have no doors and no top. Thoughts? Ported or sealed? If ported should the port also be firing downwards? Also, Jeep has the two front speakers, two on the above sound bar like any other Wrangler and two speaker pods on the rear (c pillar) roll cage. All are 6.5” and thinking of making two of those into 6.5” woofers. Should I put those in the B or C pillar? B is a long bar so lots of more air and C are single pods. Which shallow 6.5 are recommended? Not looking for loud 2-Ohm. Looking for a deeper lower 4-Ohm… brings me to amps. Option 1. Two amps, one for the four coaxial, and the other for the two woofers and one sub? Option 2, one for six (four coaxial, two woofers) speakers and one 1 ch for the larger sub? Wires, which gauge for, speakers, woofers, sub, power etc is recommended? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

    Nice looking rack situation. Are the rack ears on the Rotels the only thing holding the amps in the rack? I saw the shelves being removed but did not see them holding the amps. I’m planning on getting the larger Rotel amp, but at 75 pounds it makes me wonder if the ears alone can hold it.

    • @xtophr
      @xtophr Рік тому

      I’ve rewatched the video and now realize that I somehow missed that the Rotel rack ears are long enough to support the whole depth of the amps. Looks good.

    building it on it back i think is not great idea as to many things can go wrong when you are lifting it up. also you are putting a huge amout of pressure on the two wheels. you are so much safer to mount the devices when the rack is up right starting from the bottom and working up.

    I'm not talking about this video in particular! But it amazes me how people are willing to fork out so much on components / units and then goes and fu×ks-up with some false economy cables.
