سُلطان شہابُ الدّین محمّد غوری رحمۃ ﷲ علیہ کی پیدائش ۱۱۶۰ء ۵۳۲ ہجری کو افغانستان میں حرات اور غزنا کے درمیانی علاقہ غور میں ہوئ۔
سُلطان شہابُ الدّین محمّد غوری رحمۃ ﷲ علیہ 1 لاکھ 20 ہزار فوج تیار کرکے، وہ اس فوج کو لیکر پچھلی شکست کا بدلہ لینے کے لئے دہلی 🇮🇳 کی طرف روانہ ہوئے۔ادھر سے (پرتھوی راج چوھان) بھی بھارت 🇮🇳 کے ڈھائی سو راجاوں کی مدد سے 3 لاکھ سے زیادہ فوج اور کئی ہزار جنگی ہاتھی لے کر روانہ ہوا۔ دونوں جرنیلوں کی افواج ایک بار پھر ترائن یا ترواڑی کے میدان 🇮🇳 میں آمنے سامنے ہوئیں۔ راجا پرتھوی راج چوہان نے سُلطان شہابُ الدّین محمّد غوری رحمۃ ﷲ علیہ کو خط لکھا اور نصیحت کی کہ اپنے سپاہیوں کے حال پر رحم کھاو اور انہیں لے کر غزنی واپس چلے جاو ہم تمہارا پیچھا نہیں کرینگے۔ لیکن سُلطان شہابُ الدّین محمّد غوری رحمۃ ﷲ علیہ نے نہایت متانت سے جواب دیا کہ وہ اپنے بھائی کے حکم کے مطابق عمل کرتے ہیں اس لئے بغیر جنگ کے واپسی ناممکن ہے۔ اگلے دن دونوں افواج کا سامنا ہوا جنگ سورج طلوع ہونے سے پہلے شروع ہوئی جبکہ ظہر کے وقت تک ختم ہوگئ۔ سُلطان شہابُ الدّین محمّد غوری رحمۃ ﷲ علیہ کو فتح ہوئی اور پرتھوی راج چوہان کو شکست ہوئی اس نے میدان جنگ سے بھاگ کر جان بچائی
مگر دریائے سرسوتی سے گرفتار ہوا سُلطان شہابُ الدّین محمّد غوری رحمۃ ﷲ علیہ کے حکم پر اسے قتل کر دیا گیا۔

اس جنگ کے دور رس نتائج برآمد ہوئے مسلمانوں کا قبیلہ کرنے والا کوئی نہ رہا اگرچہ قنوج اور انہلواڑہ کے راجاوں نے اطاعت سے انکار کیا مگر شکست کھاکر مسلمانوں کے سامنے جھک گئے۔ اس طرح مسلمانوں کی ایک عظیم سلطنت ہندوستان 🇮🇳 میں قائم ہوئی جو 1857ء تاک قائم رہی۔

There is no historical accuracy in muhammads ghori's accurate place of final resting place and accounts vary. Many suggest that after winning 2nd battle of tarain he dragged chauhan king with him to Afghanistan were he was shot by an arrow. There are other interpretations as well but its impossible to accurately say anything about it due to lack of evidences.
