The problem with Bricio is when she says "education before volleyball" it CAN interfere with her being able to be a better player. Athletes NEED to play whatever sport they play in school, specially in college, as if they were all, all players, trying to be in the Olympics. But many times, unfortunately, they don't, no matter how good they may appear for us. There is a lot of overly pride, an arrogance, more so in many Latinos than any other race/ethnicity/etc., where saying "education" is a way for them saying "can we be your friends" to other colleagues, students, etc. It just is. Samantha could have been Greatness, an Olympian, but she and her parents chose not to. She did Good for what it's worth.

There are more sayings, sayings with hardly any science or truth behind them. One can get a general education from a library and online and be smarter than many grads so the sense of education from that statement means a DEGREE, not an education, means more. More so, we hardly EVER hear Olympic athletes saying that, or pros, because being great at their sport was actually more important. What I said before is actual not a "saying."
Markus E you’re seriously overthinking the situation. Obviously they’re going to put their sport first but what if they get injured or a bad scenario happens. They have to go back to education. If that wasn’t their primary choice, then they’re gonna have a hard time.
