Honestly, I sooo like the kiss in the young royals because it's the most realistic first kiss I've ever seen. There is no confidence that is usually shown. It''s scary, exciting and very embarrassing - as if before jumping into cold water. And in this scene the actors were able to reveal this excitement and awe almost without words. I am delighted.

The Young Royals first kiss scene is the most beautiful kissing scene in possibly all of television history. I think it shows the reality of a first kiss and doesn’t make it all sunshine and rainbows. You can truly see the nerves and excitement shining through the actors/characters eyes. Young teens everywhere can finally see a realistic romance. Young Royals showed me what it means to be committed and accepting of a partner. Young Royals gave me life. Let’s thank Omar and Edvin for an amazing kissing scene and show♥️♥️

The reason I cannot stop blabbering about Young Royals is that it perfectly blends drama with realism. It showcases the reality of the lives of teenagers, especially those who have to be under pressure, go through traumatic experiences at an early age and have extra responsibility on their shoulders. The show has normalized teenage skin issues. Every single actor has almost no makeup on; their faces are suffused with acnes, scars, whiteheads, blackheads et cetera and the directors/creators have been bold enough to decide not to conceal the blemishes. It lays bare the fact that one can be a prince or princess and still have flawed skin. It has also taught us that we are no one to pass unsolicited judgment on people based on their skin conditions and propelled us to look beyond and understand that our blemishes don't lessen our worth. The series has made teenagers like us feel at ease and secure about our imperfections as well. The prince is clumsy, panicky, skinny and has hideous pimples all over his face but these don't hinder us from seeing who he really is: a very well-behaved, generous, and sweet boy in dire need of a lot of hugs. I don't think any other Netflix shows have documented these aspects better than Young Royals.

Crush is a movie on Hulu that’s pretty cute. Also the wlw plotline in Atypical (Netflix) is sweet, even though it’s not the main focus of the show (it does get a lot of development, just a little less than the main story). But you’re right, there’s a total lack of sweet, not totally intense/dark/ultimately depressing wlw teen romance drama right now. Oh yeah I think Everything Sucks (Netflix) also has a pretty cute wlw storyline but again it’s not really the main plot.
