At 5’10” and 60kg I personally purchased a made to measure flow suit for time trialling. The beauty of the No Pinz m2m service is the amount of measurements required by the user to make the suit or if you’re lucky and local enough the 3D body scan service. Nothing else I own fits as well as that suit. Other manufacturers offer “made to measure” services but lack the necessary amount of detailed measurements to make a suit that fits as well as No Pinz.
I feel a bit sorry for Nopinz, the customs duties and taxes of shipping into EU are really high. I purchased the Pro-1 jersey and gilet and was really impressed. But it cost me the price of another jersey to have that clear customs which is just crazy
Didn't realize it was UK made. I would lean on that in the marketing, given that everything is made in China otherwise. I'd pay an extra few pounds to support local businesses.
I switched to NoPinz suits just for the pocket. I hated the pins through the skinsuits, plus I could never get it flat myself (solo racer). Someone asked me at a race if it was more aero, I said I don't care, I don't want to ruin my suits anymore with endless pin holes. I actually offered to add 10s to my times just to buffer if anyone thought it mattered that much. We had a laugh, but I love the idea. Other than the hot spot on your lower back you get from the plastic trapping heat in there.
NoPinz had a rather good sale going this past week. I'm now a proud owner of a Flow-suit. Here's to hoping for some personal bests in the limited world of US TT.
You guys need to uptaylor the skinsuit market. You are well aware profile drag changes with speed. Build class leading suits for the 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 kmh crowd. You'll make a killing down the road if positioned properly. Lets get in touch.
My suits have no pins pockets, which I like, but it’s a huge bummer that the UCI have banned number pockets for non-TT events both on the track and on the road. I can still use my current suits for events like the kilo, but for sprinting I’ll have to buy new ones 😢
Supposedly it’s helpful if the suit doesn’t have aero texture on the sleeves and shoulders. I imagine two aero textures together would just not be worth it, because you wouldn’t know if it is aero or not.
@@kiptaylor8740 There was a lot of discussion about it a simple search of "UCI pinless pocket" brings up tons of discussions about it. But the ban was at UCI level not USA level. But yeah sucks that you are banned from doing but I imagine at the amatuer level you can probably still get away with it if you talk with the race organizer with it beforehand. And again, pinning holes into jerseys is not an acceptable solution either I've heard that pre-made loops might be an idea they has been touted around but no major traction has come from it.
@@Xhadp agree the primary reason I like this is it does not destroy your skin suit. like you I would find it hard to belive that a USAC race would ban this and have not been able to find anything at that level.

Good friend of mine 6’7” had a similar experience. Finally has a skinsuit that actually fits.

Poor Nopinz can thank Brixit for that 🙄 also how well does the the kit wash for you??

Every success with the venture, Alex. You have so much to give with the knowledge and experience you bring to the table.

I've been using the Speedbelt for triathlons for a few years now. Such a useful bit of tech.

Great vid Alex
Love the intro
Did they also make those little magnets for road racing to hold numbers on?
Love my NoPinz!
Great video and great insight to the pro cycling.
Thanks
Excellent video
CC says at 9:30 that your "too [two] time-travelers" -- which I guess is not that bad either. Nice story anyway!
What are the fastest skin suits besides Nopinz, is it helpful to wear the Rule28 Baselayer underneath?

Great story
USA cycling just banned no pinz and pocket systems, super sucks for those of us doing TT’s and crit races :(
Link if you have it???
