Nymph? story: When I was little I always played by this thick pine tree in the middle of our 1930's-farmhouse's yard. I felt a large connection to that tree. My mother woke up one morning and saw an apparation of a woman in a long dress standing at the tree through the window. The woman was looking toward another building on our property. That day, a small tornado tore the large doors off that building, and took the top of that pine tree off. Perhaps that nymph loved me for playing at her tree every day, and wanted to warn my mother of the upcoming destruction. We thought she was a ghost, but now I think she's a nymph in a long grey/white dress. Amazing. Even though the tree's top was ripped off, it is still alive and grows new pinecones and branches.
Funny enough, when I saw your video, I searched for attested Nymph worship in my area and there is a Roman fountain that was found in a city 15 minutes away from my city dedicated to Nymphs! I shall visit the museum there!
Same here. My experience with Nymphs around 5 months ago are basically the main reason why I stopped being an atheist after 10 years and now I have been practicing Hellenic Polytheism 🏛 Your content is awesome btw, blessings ✌️

Greetings Fel the Blithe, I just came across your videos and UA-cam channel the other day. So far I have loved your presentations and your meekness. I do have one question though, You mentioned honoring the nymphs aka spirits of the land where one lives. I think this is a great idea. But wouldn't honoring the spirits of the land according to Hellenic ways, offend them, let's say if they were Native American lands? Would like to hear your opinion on that matter. Thanks.
This is an excellent question and one of much, much discourse. It's complicated because you want to honor the land and those to whom it originally belonged to and you also want to avoid cultural appropriation of indigenous cultures. I see something like nature spirits as not culturally specific as there were nymphs of foreign places (like Wales and Egypt) and nature spirits seen in every culture, that seem to transcend place. I, too, think people "bring" their nature spirits with them. I think the best thing is to not speak over your local tribe and even speak with them if you can, learn about your land-its stories, learn about your plants-what's native, what's invasive. I have a very fluid view of nature spirits and that they show up how they/we need. As always, acknowledge the land you're on, give back, and listen. I know that's not a clear cut answer, but it's not a clear cut thing. I hope this helps!
So sweet and innocent! I love your passion. I would suggest for you to read the Hymns of Orpheus. Try the Thomas Taylor delivery of them in English. Blessed be thy.
I agree with your assessment viz a viz indigenous peoples and wonder if that applies to people like myself who are indigenous to European countries? I wonder if you would apply that "it will never be the land of incoming people and will always be the land of indigenous inhabitants who should be respected and treasured?
I think perhaps the primary difference is in power dynamics-peoples (for the most part, there are exceptions, like the Sami people) who are indigenous to their homelands in Western Europe are the ones who are in power and are not not oppressed with violence, and, in many cases, _do_ the oppressing. The history of humanity is a global one, people travel, refugees refuge, cultures are in exchanged and develop. In America, Europeans came in droves and tried to erase hundreds of thousands of years of history and entire civilizations. That is the difference. Of course, many Indigenous activists have spoken about this difference at length and encourage you to look at their scholarship on the matter.
It's,you, just like nymph for me sometime your apparition appears to me. Not be annoyed, it's real but not prejudiced or due to bad intention. I at that time am ever honest with you.
Matthew 23:15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are."
I was wondering if you could do a video on Medusa. I’ve been drawn to Medusa my whole life and I know there is a lot of confusion about her origins as most people today think of her backstory as the one depicted in the poem by Ovid. We also have the theory of Medusa as the triple goddess from Libya. I’m curious what your thoughts on her are. I love her dearly. 🖤
I'll add Medusa to my list! Her history is pretty complex, although her role in classical Greece was pretty straightforward, mostly just her head was used as a symbol of protection and warding. From what I understand, her as the triple goddess from Libya has some real sketchy scholarship behind it (Medusa was also a victim of the Victorians and their nonsense). I know plenty of modern hellenic polytheists who venerate her. It would certainly be an interesting examination of historical versus modern praxis
I wondered if Medusa was some sort of Sun Goddess. Her images with the snake hair always remind me of the sun. In Baltic mythology grass snakes were said to be sacred to the Sun Goddess Saule. And in Nordic mythology dwarves were turned in to stone by the sun (and the sun in Skandinavia was a goddess Sól). Medusa is linked to Athena and the Hettites or Hurrites knew a Sun Goddess named "Istanu" , and a Moon God named Arma >> Hermes >> Perseus? Maybe the Perseus Myth descended from old tales about a Sun eclipse (moon covers sun) or how the moon got its light (by stealing it from the sun, maybe by cutting some of the sun rays = hair = whole head later in the myth of Perseus and Medusa).

Very cool story!
It's quite possible that was one of the Oreades (Nymphs of the mountains though They are also identified as Nymphs of pine and / or fir trees)
