Really enjoyed this whole series! The content and all aspects of the presentation are really superb. Entertaining and informative. Keep up the great work and thank you! Looking forward to the bourbon advent calendar series!
Chad's results almost goes in order of what is easiest to get, which is good for him! The website looks great you two! I need to get some stuff off there.
You inspire me, thanks for the video. Just had my own barrel strenght flight fight. Contenders: Bookers 2018-01 127.4, Stagg jr. 129.7, Elijah Craig BP 124.2 and WT Rare Breed 116.8. I tested blind by pouring and tagging, mixing up (really) and then tagging A-D. After half an hour of going back an forth, shockingly (overall) the Award winning Elijah finished last, ehm sry, fourth ;) Booker's third, WT second and my beloved Stagg got it. I even struggled between the WT and Stagg. The good news, Stagg cost me ~100, WT under 30 Euro, have six bottles of the latter ;) cheers all
If you want Circus Peanuts and lots of it, try Brenne Single Malt. It's a French single malt. I had a bottle and its a nice (but VERY different) whisky that has Circus Peanut taste in spades. Or, if you have been in Scotland it congers up Irn Bru soda. Brenne is a nice dessert whisky.
"It's frickin' AMAZING!!" says it all. Great flight fights and enjoyable video! Since I can't find / afford the George T., looks like Bookers will be the next buy. CHEERS!
Best 22 minutes of my day. Nice job guys. Don’t know if you tried it, and I know there is pride at play, but give the Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof a try. It’s fantastic, especially if you like Bookers.
It’s funny I watched this video and went on a bookers search, found a 30 year and bought it, but couldn’t find the “sip awhile” I was a bit let down that I would never get to try it, but to my surprise last night at the doubletree bar in Phoenix it was there!!! So good, I agree 100% it’s one of the best bookers ever in my opinion.
I’ve been watching you for well over a year, and I’ve watched your earlier videos. First I have to say that I think that your palates are evolving. That is to say that I bet that if you repeated previous videos, your opinions/results/recommendations have changed. You also tempt me to move to Kentucky. I live in Pennsylvania. I’ve heard that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the largest purchaser of alcoholic beverages in the world. In other words we have to buy what we can get through the state...except when I travel a...I’m not saying here how many miles...to Maryland. So you make my mouth water at times. At other times I can sip the same thing that you are. Either way, I hope to meet you someday. Keep up your UA-cam channel. You are a motivation to “drink more bourbon!
Just found your YT page and catching up on all of the Barrel Proof blind tastings, love it. I just got into Bourbon/Whiskey this year and enjoy learning, so far I think Barrel Proofs are my favorite. Sad to see the Rare Breed didn't make it, so good; I can't believe it's so cheap too. Heading out to the store today to try and find that 1792 Full Proof, sounds amazing.
Went to the store and they had the Knob Creek 25th but it's more than I care to spend. Got the 1792 Full Proof and it is good. Tasted some neat and some with a small splash of water, neat is still better just hot. Dare I say I still prefer the Elijah Craig BP and Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Russel's Reserve Kentucky Straight Single Barrel is also incredible good, though not a BP.
Guys, please try and get your hands on Blaum Brothers 12 Year Old Oldfangled Knotter Bourbon. I want to see what you think I believe it is a contender for the $100 plus market.
Maybe going forward for each flight you should score each dram....then instead of just putting the 4 winners into the finals you put the top 4 scorers in the finals. This way if a particular flight has 2 or 3 REALLY good bourbons they can make it through to the finals when only 1 can make it this current way....example being George T Stagg for Chad not making it but may have finished top 3 overall for him if it would have made it through.
wow, I like, nay, love four roses too....but that's a lot of excuses! was it 2 minutes worth? and between bottles, I had the Jim boys in top 2 as well. lol. love the knob 25. have you had little book no. 2?
There's no point in mixing up your drams and drinking different bourbons simultaneously, if you're just going to try to convince yourselves that you're drinking the same thing together.
Guys, do you have any video about "how to to drink" bourbon? I know it may be a silly point, but for beginners like me, having 60%+ ABV whiskies may not be so easy, hehe. I mean... I know it's a matter of time and habit to be fully able to enjoy and get all the nuances (it's the same with beer, that I'm much more experienced), but any tips would be appreciated - as if it's a good thing to add a litlle bit of water, temperature, etc. Thanks.
I know this is an old comment, but I’ll answer based on what worked for me. Start with ice, then a few drops of water, then neat. Enjoy the hunt and the journey.
The more I watch you guys the more I am convinced that Sara has a more sensitive palate for bourbon, my wife is a lot better at describing what she can smell in a glass of bourbon than I am. I know she has a more sensitive palate, but sadly she doesn't like bourbon that has too much alcohol burn. I would love to do blind flights with her but I doubt she'll ever be able to get past the aversion to the burn. Chad I hope you know how lucky you are. Also want to say thanks to Sara for the Larceny suggestion that is a bourbon that I can convince my wife to drink without making the pain face.
I've added a little water and let theml sit a few minutes to proof down a bit some whiskey's, mellows them out a lot too when you don't want aggressive. I think I've enjoyed larceny at times doing that too. Could also let them breath a bit if you don't mind waiting a while before drinking, evaporate some of that alcohol. No wrong way to drink whiskey. I'd have her try old Forester 100 signature. Some good scotch out there too for reasonable prices if you want to Branch out.
The world is not right. I can’t believe Chad picked a Beam product. The end is near. Armageddon is upon us!!! ..........Oh wait it is the norm. Sorry guys. Better go ask my boss if I can have my job back.
These are not bourbons that I see locally here in NY and if I do (like Bookers) it's a bit pricey. I have had a Stagg Jr @ 134 proof and it was too hot for me. I wouldn't buy another. 100/107 proof is more in my wheelhouse.
I loved the close up shots of the bottles. I just like the design that goes into some of these.
I understand you guys have been doing this for a while, but its so crazy how good you guys are at guessing. Great video guys.
I appreciate the complexity of your judging process
These blind flight fights are fantastic! Cheers!

Excellent final showdown y’all!

Circus peanuts! Sara’s the best! Chad isn’t bad either. Keep up the great work! I suggest to have a contest to be guest drinker.

I like that idea, Deven!
time for a Barrel Proof Bourbons Blind Flight Finals 2019 follow up!
"It's frickin' AMAZING!!" says it all. Great flight fights and enjoyable video! Since I can't find / afford the George T., looks like Bookers will be the next buy. CHEERS!
Great video guys!
Great episode great selections I was lucky enough to get both the Knob Creek 25 as well as the George T Stag can't wait to try them both
I'm so excited I had to comment before even watching the video!! Cheers!
Best 22 minutes of my day. Nice job guys. Don’t know if you tried it, and I know there is pride at play, but give the Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof a try. It’s fantastic, especially if you like Bookers.
Nicholas Villaggio Thanks, that’s awesome! We haven’t tried it but I think it’s coming up in our Advent calendar that starts tomorrow.
Can always count on you guys to make me want to grab a drink.
Best flight fight yet!
I was so impatient...the anticipation was building up but i endured and watched the entire thing.
It’s funny I watched this video and went on a bookers search, found a 30 year and bought it, but couldn’t find the “sip awhile” I was a bit let down that I would never get to try it, but to my surprise last night at the doubletree bar in Phoenix it was there!!! I can only imagine the bourbon selection at their wedding.... it’s gonna be open bar right? And we are all invited!!!!right?
cooper57m yeah somebody bid like 75k for a date with her at their last live stream
@@texasowl5356 Did that price include a bottle of Pappy?
@@cooper57m We should all chip in and buy these two cray-cray kids a bottle of Pappy. Or something they REALLY want.
Invited or not, I'm still pulling up.

George Steckert Thanks, George!
Great video review!

I got my T-shirt yesterday, very nice quality!
Awesome!
Damn that's a nice collection.
Bookers 2018 - 04 out now!
We have still yet to find it around our parts!
Guys, please try and get your hands on Blaum Brothers 12 Year Old Oldfangled Knotter Bourbon. I want to see what you think I believe it is a contender for the $100 plus market.
We'll keep an eye out for it!
Solid finale! Any regrets on your finale list for each of you? Your face after having the Stagg was looked a little like regret ;P. Thanks you too!
Send some of that Knob Creek my way! Im a self proclaimed knob creek fanatic, and barrel proof junkie(just ask Eric)
This chick really Nose her bourbon! Great job !
I just got a bottle of Stagg Jr 127.9 - it's the most flavorful bourbon I've had. The veil has been lifted. I'm a barrel proof person.
Agreed
Also agree. I kind of jumped in to the deep end when I got started. I went from OGD 114 to Stagg.... Sooooo good. I appreciate bourbon so much now.
Ha!! I guessed Knob Creek just from Chad's description of it!
Can someone make a Chad "it's a little nutty" t shirt 😂
Love it

PreppinShootinLivin That’s a great idea.
I have five GTS, sooooo goooooood.
Thanks for the great showdown! Where are those fantastic tulip glasses from?
We get ours right here: www.amazon.com/dp/B00RII1Y0W/?ref=exp_itsbourbonnight_lv_dp_vv_d

We have a bottle but haven't had time to crack it on camera yet.
This might be a dumb question, but while you're giving yourselves a break between the nosings and tastings, what do you use to cover the glasses?
Is the Stagg Jr. comparable to George T. Stagg? I've seen Stagg Jr. at my local store but I have never seen George T. Stagg no matter where I look!
There's no point in mixing up your drams and drinking different bourbons simultaneously, if you're just going to try to convince yourselves that you're drinking the same thing together.
What do you think of a tan Tee with a darker brown bourbon stained coaster shirt? ;))
#NuttySquad checking in! 🥜

I don't leave comments, but the impression was good
Hi you Two! Exactly what George T Stagg was it that you tried??
Chad's face after Sara said, "Oboe..."
Is Sara in a snuggie?
After the "A is stupid good" comment, I had to break out my bottle of GTS and play along! Yes, it is stupid good...
And now what could possibly follow GTS...? Oh yeah, I can finally open that bottle of Knob Creek 25th! Perfect! 😁

I got to be the “ Wild Turkey 101” “like” button pusher,, thingadoodle.
Plus,,,, there were no outtakes for this episode. (Sad emoji face)
I know, we're getting too good. hahahahahaha
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man I can't believe Jack Daniels barrel proof isnt in anyone's top 5!
The Four Rose's, is it worth $35 a pour out in the wild?
JHelvey1975 The simple answer.... No
That's a little steep for what it is.
The world is not right. I can’t believe Chad picked a Beam product. The end is near. Armageddon is upon us!!!

GTS > WLW, and I'll die on that hill.
11:26 - How could Sara possibly be improved in ANY way? -Just sayin' !!
She needs to lose a few lbs! Feel that after the wedding she will let herself go and just blow up! Needs some daily exercise!
M Ladd this is correct.
Thirstiest
Nutty Mouthfeels?
