I subscribe to a few really great crocheters. Been doing it for two years. I just ran across your work for the first time tonight.I love your detail on simple differences in slip stitches verses single crochet and so many simple techniques that alter it. You are so skilled and a clear teacher. I have looked at a few of your tutorials now. I came back to this one just to check out more of b your stuff. Thank you so much for your tutorials.
I'm so glad I ran across this. Bullion block is perfect for a project I'm creating right now. I came to UA-cam to look up the bobble stitch to see if it would work better than popcorn for my project, found your video on bobble stitch, and saw this video over at the right. Serendipity!
That's good news. However, let me just caution that this is not the bullion stitch itself but what I call a bullioin block. If your pattern calls for the bullion stitch this might or might not work.
+MusicAddictGrl Hmm I have never done it. I'd give it a try on a smaller piece before trying it on a large project. I know you would have to have a base row of double crochet stitches and you would have to make sure you have the correct number of stitches for placement of your bullion block stitches since each takes two stitches. then there is the first stitch to think about and the corners. Perhaps in combination with another? Let me know if you try it.
I have actually made granny squares but each square is made up of bullion stitches - i have made 24 different squares and I thought that the bullion block stitch around the blanket as a border would be really nice. I am just worried about the corners
Hmm I'm sorry to say I don't know the answer to that. Maybe you could use one of the squares and try to bullion block around it and see how it works in the corners. You wouldn't even have to do the whole square. Just a side, corner, side. I'm curious so if you do try it, please let me know how it works out.

THANKS for posting this!!! So much easier than the "traditional" bullion stitch, and can be easily substituted for it as it doesn't change the gauge.

Have you or anyone else done a border? Would love to do it on a baby blanket I have just completed.
Are you asking if you can use this stitch as a border or do you want to make a border on a bullion block stitch afghan you've just completed?

There are several other folks with videos on the bullion. Perhaps one of them has worked it as a border. Might be worth a look.
Thanks so much. I will definitely let you know either way.
Nice but how do we make a SECOND ROW?
If you want your bullions on the same side, you would chain up, work a row of sc, then continue with the bullion for your next row.
Isaura, this is not the Bullion Stitch. It is the Bullion Block Stitch. They are different.
