I had an absolute blast following this campaign. I loved it and it certainly helped me understand the mechanics behind Pathfinder 2 gameplay. You know you're a good GM when you spin a scene so intense your players drop their accents.
Following this campaign has been excruciatingly wonderful. Like a roller-coaster of word play, actions and feelings. Omelette is a tough egg, for sure! And loved the reveal of Ikyulys' back story as well as Linneus is a joy to behold. Tariel has come into her own as an accomplished battle healer Bard, and Lys shows more promise that her character's growth has only just begun. Second season cannot come soon enough!
This has been the BEST gameplay series I've ever seen. Great story and even greater roleplaying! Thank you all! Please do a sequel, so we can see more of the Knights of Everflame!!
@@bharl7226 I agree partially but IRL if I was essentially an adventurer with no guaranteed source of steady income or aid in a magical world, I'd be looting every body I came across. aside perhaps from goblins or other gross things.
Jade Bailey and that’s totally fair. There is definitely a certain practicality to looting enemies that I can wholeheartedly understand and agree with. My point shouldn’t have been that there shouldn’t be any of that because it’s too video-gamey, more that it depends on the person/character whether or not they’re the type to do such things. I guess I didn’t think it all the way through, because you’re right. Realistically money and gear do matter, so there should be some focus on it in roleplay.
@@bharl7226 I agree with you that perhaps certain members of any adventuring party will be the ones to loot. But looting is important, not in the video game style, but can be a vital way to get information from the deceased like notes as well as potential magic items the party could desperately use. Or perhaps seeing they had a particular tattoo that links them to something unexpected. I liken the looting to a form of information gathering. Taking resources away from the bad guys is not a bad thing. Looting should be done in character, and not just everyone waiting to write down a list of goodies. Just like one can roleplay combat with how you describe what your character does and how they do it. You can tell a lot about a character by how they approach combat, or looting, or any other facet.
I just want to thank everyone that took part in this. It's been a fun watch for someone just getting into the game and was even entertaining enough that my wife even began watching with me. Fun times.
At 2:39:10 Omelette was still at least 15 feet away from Andla... so she would have had to move past Ickulus (sorry about spellings) to get to her! The story telling is amazing and generally I like story of the mind, but for showing off a system that seems to have a lot of mechanics that depend on distance and positioning you might want to consider a battle mat of some sort for season two, and I can't wait!
Actually Omelette was right on top of her. Earlier in the battle she activated a bracelet which doubled her movement speed, so the move action Omelette took at the end of her last turn put her right next to the boss.
GREAT WORK EVERYONE! Finally got around to finishing up the last couple episodes of the season due to school and work being really busy, this was such an enjoyable campaign to watch and the best part is now I can dive right in to season 2. Jason and the players were all fantastic and I’m throughly hooked on the wonderfully fun system that is PF2, coming from d&d.
These 8 episodes were the perfect length for me - just enough for several adventures and a beautiful arc of roleplay. If it was any longer, I'm not sure I would dare to watch - it's hard for me to find time for another show next to Critical Role.
I cannot wait til Season 2! I cannot wait to experience more of the amazing chemistry and excitement of the players. It's such a joy to see how invested and joyous everyone is. Season 2!!!

Almost been a year since this story as been told to me. I had a blast riding the roller coaster of emotion. It has kept me entertained thru these troubled times and kept me sane. Thank you. I do have the Pathfinder: Kingmaker video game. Which is how I found this series. Much of the universe that this comes from goes into the games story. That helps me enjoy it. I just wish half the emotion I felt here could be reflected on it.
Omelet is just Ms. Quisenart and a blur as she whirling dervishes through the entire horde of undead. The guards on the wall just eat popcorn and watch...
Inspirational game on the part of all participants! Thank you all! (I bet they keep playing after this! I wouldn't be able to leave that story line like that! LOL)
It looks like Jason lowered DC for every encounter after the spiders even lower for the group. Still, a nice move to feel the party powerful at the very end of campaing

Well, at least the Bard spent all her time healing, while the Cleric with auto hitting area heal friend + damage undead spells kept wasting time attempting to hurt a single enemy with attacks requiring to hit rolls...
To be fair, the cleric does have more attack spell options than the standard bard. Plus, the ending just needed Lin to be super focused on the end boss. Also, I'm not sure which undead types have positive energy vulnerability. But we're both doing the armchair quarterbacking here. 🤓
@Johm Miles: I am not a fan of hers however, I thought her reasoning was solid. I think she will have this issue from this point forward, but only time will tell. TBH, I am not sure how I would have played, I think I would have done the positive surges just to keep as many people as I could up.... But who knows how Jason would have responded in how he played the Vampire
I still don't understand why the Bard, Tariel, didn't use her TK projectile cantrip to attack. Her Sling does 1d6 damage. She never was reminded/remembered that cantrips scale and after the 1st 2 sessions seemed to stop using the cantrip despite it being much better.
Neither am I. And military training would not really synergize very much with RPG rules. It is merely a mindset: If I do X, what possibilities does that create or destroy for my enemies and allies?

*shrugs* Well besides there not really being rule that every weapon relic of a deity needs to be their favored weapon, I don't really know. Maybe just because longsword has higher damage dice than scimitar? Maybe GM thought longsword would have fitted Kassen better?
@@ShadowoftheMask I know it's not ruled that it has to be, I just fond it weird from a flavor perspective when it seems to be a heavy incorporation of the second edition feel. It was always weird to me seeing deities without a relic that actually represented their favored weapon if it was offensive in nature. But that seems good enough an explanation as any. I hope this didnt come off as a complaint as it was more a curiosity. Ya know?
Perhaps when they were forging it they tried to make a scimitar but the smith had a hearing problem and thought they wanted him to make a short sword, but once he realized the mistake he just tried to fix it by simply making it longer and adding a torch-like feature to make it light themed and gave it a rad name like the "Everflame" in the hopes no one would question it.
Probably because it was Kassen's sword and Kassen, canonically, used a longsword. That or all of the iconography and what he was buried with in the Crypt of the Everflame 1st Edition adventure was wrong.
SPOILER COMMENT: I do not understand the end. They defeated the lieutenant but they never found out what caused the undead to rise in the first place? Whats stopping more undead from coming? The undead had risen before the Andler became undead herself. What caused them?
I agree the magic fucking sword should go to the warrior in the group, but c'mon, playing less than optimally doesn't mean useless! Clearly this group isn't about tactical play, and I'm baffled that you made it through 8 episodes and that's what you choose to complain about.
