 FAQ
Why did they not use the gas to fill up?
- They are burning the evidence, which is their go to method. That's why they also purchased a new canister with the other car.
How did you do the throwing objects?
- Like most of the time, I have a tutorial for that, because I don't want to gatekeep my knowledge: • GTA V: 500+ Secret Spe...
How long did it take you to make this?
- Writing the script took a couple of days spread over a few weeks. Recording started mid October, so overall I would say probably 2 and a half to three months total, in net work hours probably between 80 and 100.

Wow man the animation on the dude getting out of the trunk was amazing. The suspense built perfectly.
Credit for that goes to my man Voyevoda for finding the animation!
@@whanowa Was the animation imported into GTA 5 or did you have to do apply it externally using something like blender/maya/cinema4d?
Man... within the first 2 minutes i thought this is amazing. mind blowing. Movie theater material.
Thanks Carlos
Man everything about that was phenomenal. Beautiful camera angles, perfect animations and acting. Loved this one
Thank you very much!
Amazing!!! I need a part 2 really enjoyed it❤
I feel like this story is concluded, at least for now. Maybe I will feel differently in the future.
babe wake up whanowa uploaded
haha
Woke up now🫡
You're one of my inspirations for making machinimas, and I've recently gotten back into making them again. Great storytelling.
Good luck with your projects!
What a phenomenal short movie! Great job!
thanks mate
I want to THANK YOU A LOT Whanowa! You really are a master... You are incredible making these machinimas... I have been practicing for many hours to get to that level, but it is hard. You are too good, of course, you have years of experience... Thank you for your tutorials. I hope you keep them on youtube because I have been learning from them and keep watching them as many times as I can. It is hard here in my Country ( Costa Rica, Central America.) Sometimes I don't have time, and my equipment is not the best. I am trying to improve that too. I have not created any machinima yet since I want to practice the most I can first, then I hope you can give me your advice one day. Honestly, I thought I could never watch another great machinima of you. I am so happy you are still making them. I hope you can continue doing that since I keep learning from them.
I humbly was able to support you on Patreon now... and I hope and can keep doing it because you deserve it! I can't be the highest Patreon for you as I wished, but hopefully, in the future, I will support you in the best way. You are great! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR DOING THIS.
PD: I am sorry for my English.
Thank you for your comment, your english is completely fine. I saw you joined the patreon so I think you can join the discord server and join the gang! We're a good bunch and very helpful!
@@whanowa Thanks I will definitely join it!
That was brilliant buddy, another fantastic production and nice to see a move towards a serious/dark machinima. Only goes to show you have talent in multiple genres! Keep it up.
Thank you! I'm definitely going to explore that area more :)
dope stuff as usual man, amazing job
also thank you so much for your tutorials
without you, GTA machinimas wouldn't be the same
aww thank you my man
You have very good visual storytelling skills sir!! Brilliant work as usual whanowa
thanks mate
This was f&cking insane, the best video game movie made by a fan I’ve ever seen keep it up you’ve got yourself a subscriber
Thanks man. Check out "Red Roses" and "Lucid Encounter" too if you like.
HOLY SHIT! I just can't get over how PERFECT this is. The atmosphere, the lighting, the story, the voice acting, the animations chosen... the quality is so good it's overwhelming. Plus, I love dark night American countryside criminal suspense settings, so you got a bonus there, lol. Truly, a work of art and I can't express enough how much I love this! Easily the best video game film I've ever seen. You've got yourself a new subscriber.
Thanks mate, very cool to see a new face with a comment like this! I will definitely explore some more crime films / thrillers next year, but also some weird comedy stuff again.
Wow what a beautifully made film. Very well shot and I had a blast watching this! Wow!!!!
glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
That was bloody brilliant, the Cinematography was stunning! Well done!
thanks madam
hey man i love your work its truly amazing seeing what you can do. You have a really good eye for film, and it shows. this felt like a real show or movie.
Nice movie! Well filmed, and liked the custom car engine sounds as well.
The engine sounds were the biggest pain to find and combine honestly. There are barely any free engine packs that sound consistent, and mostly you get sportscar sounds and no "normal" cars.
That was genuinely AMAZING!
I’ve seen a lot of great Machinima, but this one may have taken the 🎂!
GREAT JOB! Waiting for “Tail Light 2”!
_GRANDPA'S RAMPAGE_
amazing voice acting and animations. the things whanowa can do with his puppets are just amazing👀👑
For it is I, lord of the virtual puppetes, giveth life to the digital flesh.
I really really loved this. I don't know what it is but your gta movies have a very distinct thing about them that separates them from the rest and I think a big part of that goes to the quality. Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you for the nice comment. I am never sure if I actually have my own style or now.
Great short film! Gta's animations can be a bit clunky for cinematics but you did well considering the limitations. Am gonna be nit picky though, there were a couple shots that some what spoilt the cinematic feel, the shot at 5:06 ish where the police car slides around, the camera move felt unrealistic as it went from like a follow shot as if there was a camera in a car in front for it to then move to the side whilst going back with the car. Then there's the shot at 5:30 where the camera goes through the windshield. It is technically possible in real life if you had a car with no windows then replaced them with CG in post but don't think the shot itself works cinematically.
But just nit picking and overall one of the best gta short films I've seen.
Prediction: Next there will be a Prequel followed by the Conclusion 🤩
The public has spoken, Vox Populi Vox Deus 🥳
Just GORGEOUS! The lighting was DOPE AS SHIT pardon my French, but damn I was all about the shadows.
Good stuff all around 👍🏼👍🏼
I really paid extra attention to lighting this time around and I'm glad I did.
Whoa! This one is much more somber than Red Roses, but it's brilliantly executed! I'd love to find out how you did some of the things you did in even more detail that your videos because it's all done just so smoothly!
(did you change the game file texture of that envelope to get the numbers on it, or do you do that post production?)
The envelope's texture was edited for this one. Thanks!
BEST TO EVER DO IT! HANDS DOWN. GREAT WORK WHANOWA
Thanks mate
The music oh my god, everything was perfect !
I am nervous! Who are they? Why there was number 9 on the envelope? What was the purpose of their crimes!?
Brilliant atmosphere and sound design. From no on I will call you Whanowa Fincher!
hehehe or third Coen whanowa
This Has Some DC Sniper Inspiration Behind It. Great Film!
Actually I don't know the reference! I was inspired more by "Fargo" and "No Country for Old Men" with this particular piece.
Nice work 👌🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
Enjoyed watching this, was a real thrill. Loved the camera angles and the animations you used.
this deserved more views then it got!!
acting was pretty damn good in this ngl
I was the worst of the bunch, the voice actors I found for this were just top notch - and I paid for them! Expect to hear them again in my next movies!
@@whanowa production value shows, I noticed the different voices 👍🏼
Fantastic as always
We need a whole movie based on this story line I love it appreciate y'all whoever worked on it and made it happen y'all deserve an Oscar fr gaming Oscar awards wya doe that needs to be a thing tbh
You deserve much more attention........hope to see you grow faster.......god bless❤
The channel grows slower than ever because of the few uploads. UA-cam prefers frequent uploads so there's that
what a cinematic shorts bro i loved it
Well done to everyone involved. I especially like the camera placement/angle. You got an eye. This one had tension. Very cinematic. I usually see GTA shorts copy other styles, but this looks and feels original.
Thank you very much. I appreciate you taking the time for this short review.
I've been binge watching all of your gta machinimas, and each time I'm more impressed than the last.
If it's alright with you, I'd love to react to some of your content on my machinima watch live stream next week! What you're doing is amazing, keep it up! 💜
Thank you for asking and feel free to to the reacts (even though generally I am not a big fan of this type of format).
Love you brother.......love your work.......much love❤❤
thanks!!
Deserves more exposure, keep doing your thing it’s slow process but you will get the recognition you deserve
it's been 11 and a half years, I wonder if it can actually be any slower
Cant wait learned so much from you 💝
Love to see your still making videos, this short film is awesome, you can tell that a lot of work has been put into this, love it. Looking forward to joining the patreon soon again, recently redownloaded all my mods for gta now im playing around with rockstar editor. This short film is really inspiring.
Thanks mate and good luck for your projects!
There is really something special with your movies. I have watched lots of GTA 5 movies but none are as good as yours. This movie gave me the same feeling that I get from watching a real movie and the sound and music were also just perfect. Keep up the great work!
Thank you mate. If I may, I can recommend the channel of Aries Pictures: ua-cam.com/video/rtVwHW6fAFE/v-deo.html
finally got around to watching it and i actually loved it. the camera work and the mood were just awesome and some of the animations were superb.
i almost started fan-boying when i saw myself in the credits tho 😅
Haha nice thanks for you warm words :)
Nice work man! Awesome camerawork and use of animations.! It's been forever for me since I watched a machinima and I'm glad I watched this one! Brought back so many memories from my machinima days, especially the music at 3:15 which is the same one i used in my last ever machinima.
Hey mate I didn't know you left the business :)
Thanks for your comment!
wow great twist at the end. looked like he was innocent and the cops shot his son
Great job!
This is awesome man, I got a question tho, how are you throwing props such as the bat and the envelopes and the bag etc, is that done outside of GTA or is there a way to do that?
ua-cam.com/video/uCnFRH7cNC8/v-deo.html
That was amazing man. You captured very nice pictures there. Very fluid camera movement as well. I also liked the details in the sound design. Like the Cop talking outside the car from the inner perspective. The extra sound bits for footsteps and all. Really well done!
thank you very much
Tbh u deserve more support for such fine work really amazing
Ive watched this video alot and its inspired me to make my own machinima i did on my console but i got a PC and am gonna start when im in the mood and have money for editing software
Masterpiece.
Nice bro I liked I was like whats gonna happen next
Glad you enjoyed
This video is amazing, you are the machinima 🐐
baaah
Just one thing bro. Do you have a team or do you make these all by yourself. LEGENDARY.
I only had one person help me fine tune the script and one guy to find some tricky animations for me, plus the voice actors (see credits). The rest is completely done by me.
Man, cool one, i like it, great work!
This was so good. Really liked the voice acting. Are these people you work with personally or did you go through a gig site?
The newscaster was also the same person who helped me improve the script. The other voice actors were found through Casting Call Club. The father was voiced by a guy I knew from earlier projects, but also through CCC. I did the roles with less text myself, but the difference to the pros really shows.
@@whanowa That's dope man. I love everything about your process. Big respect for you man!
This is your best work yet, especially the beginning and mid but the ending seemed abit rushed
Oh thanks for the feedback - why do you feel the ending was rushed? I am genuinely curious!
@@whanowa the part where he gets shot by the cops, I feel the chase should of lasted longer. there isn’t any back story on the old man at the end
Thanks!
The backstory of the old man is mostly told through the visual cues. He is literally the grandfather of the young man and he lost his daughter to a corrupted cop. So it was his plan all along to go on that killing spree and in the end he continues it - even though it already cost him the rest of his remaining family.
About the car chase: I kinda agree with you that the chase could have been longer, but I purposely decided against it because there was a complete imbalance between the power of these cars. They had an old rusty sedan that just can't compete against modern police vehicles, so the father knew that they were doomed either way.
Having done an extensive car chase in "Red Roses", this time I decided against it for this movie to put the focus on the thriller aspects and the suspenseful moments instead of the action.
I dnt know why this type of masterpiece is getting very less views??
The magic word is "algorithm".
Definitely has 1980 horror/suspense vibes. Very well done.
Yes kinda what I was going for, and also Coen Brothers style was a big inspiration.
Thank you for your hard work!
Ohh wao what a film
Love you man
I can see your hard work
❤️❤️❤️
Yes it took about three months to make.
Hello! First off, love the machinima. Probably one of the best ones you've made. Anyways, I'm really worried about Duggy. Being that you're one of the only professional machinimakers of GTA V, I think you know how he's doing. I remember you two being pretty close together in the past so please let me know if he's at least alive and breathing. Thanks.
Hey mate, thanks for your kind words. Duggy is well from what I know of. He started a job at Rockstar North doing pretty much what he did on his channel. Doing that job didn't leave him with enough time for his channel, though, because he has to travel a lot to Northern Ireland all the time. His wife however is very active on Twitter: twitter.com/SoniaDmusic
@@whanowa Thanks for responding! Glad he’s okay and super happy he’s working for Rockstar! Best of luck to you!
The car ran out of gas but they had a spare gas can. _🤔_ Two thumbs up, film of the year.
That was the whole point, they burned the evidence. This is their method and they bought a new gas can with the second car to do it just like that again.
Really awesome. Not an easy engine to do this in.
Nice short movie!
This is VERY well done
love it
you inspired me to make these on my pc and i've just uploaded mine yesterday. It's not as good as yours but it's decent
thanks!
Great work whanowa 😲
Thanks for the comment!
Nice work man
Yea I normally don't watch random random machinimas but right after it started I realized how well it was made, and I watched the 15 mins like it were 5
Thank you mate, glad you enjoyed it. You might also enjoy "Red Roses" from my channel.
This is Incredible! Great job with everything!
Thank you for everything
I'm trying to do something like this. But wow amazing work. Still learning how to do this
It has been a long journey for me as well...so don't give up!
this was so good !
A work of art... your channel actually inspired me to start making gta v machinema but I’m having trouble finding voice actors and was wondering if you or anybody in this comment section would be interested? Also if you ever need an Italian mobster character, I’m always available.
You can go to Casting Call Club and find free talents there easily. I hired my VAs there, but I paid to get higher quality.
@@whanowa ok. thanks for letting me know. I’ve been having trouble finding voice actors lately.
Really beautiful work ! Just a small personal remark, I find your camera movements a little too "stiff" it should be made more "flexible" to be able to really reproduce those of the cinema and thus us spectators, make us enter the story a little more.
Thanks! I guess it is a matter of taste and depends on the movie. Since this is more of a slow type of film I chose the camera movements not to be too fast and erratic, or shaky.
very cool. im only unfortunate to do it on ps4 so its impossible to get any good narrative. This is really well made and i didnt go on my phone once.
I wanna see more of this good stuff
There will be more like this.
Underrated channel
I upload too infrequently.
Very nice!
very nice
I love how they had gas but decided to use it to burn the car instead of fuel the tank 😂
It was specifically the plan to hide their tracks.
@@whanowa oh yea it was a great film 10/10 , that was before I realized they change cars before every hit 😂
the animations are very interactive and real. How do you get this quality? Search tirelessly until you find something similar in the list of 100 thousand animations natively available in gta? or do you create with blender? How did you get that package coming into the picture?
Sorry to ask you these questions, but as soon as I get a financial return from my videos, I'll send you a significant donation, even though I live in Brazil and my local currency isn't worth much..lol
Hey don't worry about the money.
It is a mixture of the following things:
- many years of practice
- tedious searches for animations by keywords
- I have a friend helping me find some of the animations
- I do not use blender
- the package is done with a task sequence "achieve velocity", watch this:
ua-cam.com/video/uCnFRH7cNC8/v-deo.html
If you want you can later join my Patreon at any time though, I have detailed behind the scenes videos for every machinima.
that was perfect💥
Holy shit this was good. Sheeesh😮💨
This was fucking amazing!
GREAT JOB
Good job!
Amazing dude ! How did you do all the animations?
It's a bit too lengthy to explain. If you are into making machinima, I have a wide variety of tutorials that show the craft in detail.
ComeBack
This is a work of art!! The movie is too spectacular and I really like your content and I want to ask for help :( I also want to make GTA V machinima and I want to install the Scene director mod but I can't and I've already watched many tutorials, including yours, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong or I don't know if my open lV is configured And I would like you to help me install it, I would greatly appreciate it :D
Amazing !!
wow, im speechless, amazing machinima man 👏.
glad you enjoyed it
Insane!
Great job
What a nice movie ❤.. After a long time you are back
Yeah, real life is busy and it is hard to find the time and energy to work on these big projects.
Great work
Do you still use menyoo to make gta v movies ? or is there a newer way to do task sequences with a mod thats less buggy?
Nice 👍🏻
nice
I'm studying English now, but my knowledge is not enough to write to you in it. Поэтому свой свой восторг написал на своём родном языке. I wish you success in everything, not only in creativity!!! You're very good man!
Yoooo let's gooooo!
