Hi, thanks for your helpful review. I can only echoe your comments. I've just installed a pair on a PLR5108 rack and they work impeccable if you dont installe the "Hold-It-Easy" device. Once installed, I cannot attach the panniers to the rack any longer, if I force them, the lock mechanism jams and I have to manually free the lock inside the pannier which is a bloody pain as the two springs and the pulley for the cable of the locking mechanism fall out and you have to painfully reassemble the locking mechanism. I contacted Givi about the problem. For the time being I use them without the tilting device. Kind regards
Hi, great video. I currently use soft panniers but was thinking of buying the Givi Alsaka for a big trip next year. Not being familiar with hard cases can you please tell if the panniers are actually 'locked' onto the frame and you require the key to release (wireleese) them? Cheers.
Case itself is awesome. The tip-out holding device is an overengineered piece of junk. Sure it works sort of depending on which rack model you have. They would have been better served with a 3 inch cable and carabiner or clip to hook to rack. That way if the box comes loose for any reason, it doesn't go bouncing down the road and can still allow the box to tip out. I have this set and I swap it out between my FZ600 and KLR650.
Ref the "Hold it easy" set up, I added a pair of 2mm thick m6 washers onto back of each of the top clips on each side. My panniers clip in with no effort whatsoever. It is VERY securely held by the clip on each side and doesn't touch the additional "Hold it easy" plastic clip.
Hi! Could you tell me more precisely how you fix the hold it easy system in a way that it works with the rack? UPDATE: if you remove te monokey clip that attaches the case tot the rack and add 2 washers as stated in the comment and put the monokey clip back the hold it easy system will work!
Lot's of plastic bits to break on these, older kappa Kventure 37 litre were more robust and had better more secure fitting system onto the monokey frames.

All agreed!
Nice review 👌 I have the older version which I love, did a similar video about fitting the racks. Not recommended on older battered adventure bikes 🤣

I’ll give it a go thanks Greg
