You should be hired by a toy company to design. You are just so skilled and I think your talent comes from your passion. Really enjoy watching your video.
Man, there is some next level Photoshop magic going on here. I'm going to have to watch that part back in slow-mo to figure out how you're doing some stuff in just a few simple steps that I would be spending ages doing.
Hmm... The two tabs in the back, so close to the wall, makes you wonder if the plan originally was to have some sort of cardboard backdrop there. I guess we will never know. But I really love your upgrade on this! Absolutely brilliant!
That rear panel is superb. You do great work! By the way, I found out about this channel through 'Baremetal HW', who recommended you on his last video. He said this was a great channel to binge watch. He's not wrong! Nice one!
Nice touch. I still have my original star wars collection. An AT AT -, millennium falcon, Hoth Ice station, x wing, and many others. they all need a clean and a tidy up. This would be a good addition. Good ideas and an interesting post.
The small addition of a card backdrop on the interior really added so much life to the inside of the walker! The background looks great too, I enjoyed seeing the speed paint of how it was made.
Lolol you’ve made it look like it should of done from day one mate,I found loads in my loft (my old stuff) boxed but your video’s are a real inspiration to want more.Keep um coming!!
I have a vintage toy store near me that has at least 6 AT-ATs each for around $150 including a box in very good condition, a millennium falcon thats missing a good amount of parts for $10, a slave one missing many parts for $10, a death star box, a couple x wings, a snowspeeder for $60, etc. It's crazy, I'm definitely going to pick up the millennium falcon in the coming weeks.
Things like this are why I'm a fan. Keep 'em coming! I had an idea of some sort of thing like this for the vintage castle grayskull, just not sure how to go about it. Would love to see your take on that.
This is simply great and, like yourself, I always wondered why Kenner/Palitoy never bothered with a few extra stickers but, like you said, it probably came down to cost. Great stuff 👍🏻
i usually do not like music interludes whilst the mods are being done..but this was very enjoyable..and..am astounded at your imagination...you surely deserve so many more subs!
Thanks. I wanted to show the process that goes into making something like this, and without the music it would be a very long silent video. The whole drawing process takes a couple of hours and I have been asked to show that un-edited. So I may do a special video in future of real time photoshop work for the hardcore people who like that sort of thing.
Fair play, that looks quality! Without doubt, you've got some skills with the photoshop. I'm guessing you must be a graphic designer in your day job! I never had an AT-AT as a kid either, but this almost makes me want to get one just so I can print off that awesome backdrop!
@@toypolloi Can't say I'm surprised! Your custom stickers and inserts are a particular highlight of these videos for me. The bottom layer and the extra panels you created for the Death Star playset was another outstanding piece of work too. Good stuff!
djmips -- I guess all of the effort is just part of the hobby. If you find it enjoyable, it's pretty much the same as putting effort into your carpentry or leather working in those pastimes.
Other tip,,at Christmastime you can find in shops cheap Christmas table lights on battery. Not only those candles you mentioned before,i mean those miniature led lights on wire with a battery compartment. I see that you also like to play with computers. Which programme is this?
very nice, looks great!! ive seen you customise a couple of your toys now, so heres a question for you! vintage toys Kenner & Hasbro either or, would you customise them buy painting?? like weathering & such, maybe different colors if you have several, like blue or green squadron ect.???
+GALAXIE 67 I prefer to do my customs with stickers and decals, or inserts like this one. It keeps it much more in keeping with what they would have done at the time. Kenner didn't add much, if any paint to the vehicles.
Ever do this for the Sandcrawler? I have the modern one and am gifting it to my son to play with (yes, I know how much it's worth!) And boy is the interior dull. I'm imagining the cargo hold from the movie on the main interior wall and a row of lava falls on the vehicle's rear interior wall for smelting.
you're a pretty good combination: the topic itself is relaxing, and I found a video ASMR of a guy just washing star wars figures with "hot, soapy water"; your attitude and voice are both calm and relaxing too. Also, there's something else, it's not ASMR, but it's known to be addicting especially to men: fixing, repairing and restoring. Just make a tv show about people de-rusting iron using vinegar, recycle plastic to get plastic dust, melt computer parts to get gold, clean old coins, restoring old objects, buying/selling old stuff to make a profit, and you'll have millions of males mesmerized in front of the screen, just like girls in front of a shoe shop. I suspect that dirty, ugly, yellow, ruined star wars toys could end up selling at the same price as the ones in good conditions, because people see your videos and they want to try themselves with the restoration, and they are so addicted to the idea, that ironically they would pay any price to restore rubbish items :D
This is amazing. really wish I could use photoshop, just can't get the hang of it. The oil and dirt effects I really liked, wasn't sure what you where doing to start with.
+MrLethal1986 Thanks. I've been using it for a long time so know a few tricks and methods to make stuff look good. The oil/dirt effect is something I came up with years back for some game art. I still use it today.
A tip for the future. When you film pressing down the glued paper with a piece of paper towel mute the sound. My god it was like nails on chalkboard for me. 👌😎
question: As a Mego action figures fan, I was wondering....would you ever consider making some display backgrounds for them? I see here you are very talented with the graphics side of it, so I was wondering about doing some of the older playset art (Hall of Justice, Batcave, Planet of the Apes,. etc.).... thanks.
+Riggor Mortiss I plan to do some mego figure restoring soon. I don't think I have ever seen any of the play sets here in the uk. So will have to do some research.
When I was a kid, I always thought that wall looked like Kenner had originally designed the wall to have something like this. I just figured that they had abandoned it as a cost-saving measure.
This is super cool! Did you ever replace any of the outside decals/stickers on the AT-AT? Do you suppose you could do something similar to the Droid Factory or Jabba's Dungeon Playset? Those always looked kinda plain to me.
+Guernicaman I've not done the outside on the At-At yet. I don't own either of those playsets. So will need to find one before I can work out what can be done. Cheers
+ShiningShiningcharizard 1 Very kind. Drop me a message and we can sort something out. Via Facebook, twitter, Instagram, or email on my website. Cheers
i always thought those little tabs at the back were for holding something like this in but they decided not to bother. Because why else are they there?
I ought a U-Command WALL-E Of of ebay a year or 2 back, and it was broken right off the bat. It was not in a package, and the treads were broken. The way it is supposed to move was the 2 treads would roll forward to drive forward, and to turn, one would move forward, one would move back. Instead, Only the tread that moved forward would move whatsoever. So no matter how you move him, he would always spin in a circle. Figured it's a slipping gear or something that isn't catching right? Any Ideas? Thanks, and Great video as usual :D
Toy Polloi You wouldn't happen to have some external stickers for the AT AT? the ones on mine have faded and peeled off, I'm looking to restore to it's original glory :)
You should be hired by a toy company to design. You are just so skilled and I think your talent comes from your passion. Really enjoy watching your video.
I wish!
The amount of detail in your stickers alone would make for fascinating videos themselves. Brilliant.
Man, there is some next level Photoshop magic going on here. I'm going to have to watch that part back in slow-mo to figure out how you're doing some stuff in just a few simple steps that I would be spending ages doing.
The blue scanner detail was amazing!
It was really relaxing to watch! Please do more!
+Anthony Karklus Thanks. I'm thinking up some ideas at the moment.
Hmm... The two tabs in the back, so close to the wall, makes you wonder if the plan originally was to have some sort of cardboard backdrop there. I guess we will never know. But I really love your upgrade on this! Absolutely brilliant!
The end product has convinced me to do this to mine. Looks awesome.
+Rick Woodridge Send me some photos when you are done. Love to see other customs. Cheers
You continue to be a master and you add great value to the all mighty AT-AT walker! Thank you for everything!
My pleasure!
amazing that something as simple as a custom card back and some penlights can make a toy look totally different
Thanks. Yeah, sometimes a simple addition like this really takes a toy to the next level.
Very nicely done, makes a HUGE improvement over the sad gray nothingness that was there before!
Oh yeah, my AT-AT's getting one of these! Fantastic.
I can't get tired of watching your work, your a genius 👍🏼
+Green Lantern HG Thanks. Very kind.
Excellent job. It seems to give The AT-AT some depth.
That rear panel is superb. You do great work! By the way, I found out about this channel through 'Baremetal HW', who recommended you on his last video. He said this was a great channel to binge watch. He's not wrong! Nice one!
What a huge difference. Bravo! Kenner should hire you.
Some toy company should hire me, that's for sure!! :D
Totally brilliant post, many thanks for sharing Toy Polloi!
Thanks
I cannot express how much your videos have helped me... Thank you
You are so welcome!
Not only is this a brilliant project, it’s mesmerising and … I get the sense that I know what all those items and panels do!
Wonderful bit of customizing. Looks very nice! Thank you for sharing.
Love these videos
I remember doing this sort of stuff to my toys back in the day to give them more details.
Wow....That simple addition really makes the interior of the AT-AT pop. Very cool looking. Thanks for sharing.
Really love your work. Came from Baremetal HW. Checking your video’s already is a daily routine.
+rii ve Thanks. Glad you are enjoying them!

Very nice.
That add-on looks amazing!
Thanks.
I really like the back panels you make! Great Job!
I have no idea how I missed this video, however happy to have it in my recommendations.
Brings a whole new level to the toy.🙂
As always, your photoshop skills amaze me.
Great improvement, your artwork is time period accurate.
Another success.
I always think of Imperial interiors with those white rectangle with round end patterns.
Looks incredible for how much it really improves the original while retaining the same aesthetic. Amazing job as usual and very tasteful!
You are brilliant, sir!
Love it! Very creative!
Stunning! Great job.
Great job and imagination! It really looks like it belongs there.
Thanks!
I just restored my vintage ATAT, send you an e-mail with a vid and some pictures!! Thanks for this video, it inspired me!!

Fantastic job! Very impressed.
brilliant toy polloi great deco.for the at at.
Simply beautiful!
Fantastic work Dave.
Really impressive. I learned a ton in this short video. Thank you!
The new hasbro AT-AT's fixes all the detail and interior features to make it diorama worthy.
You are a really talented man. :) very impressed by your work.

Just did something like with my vintage imperial shuttle. Redid the cockpit. Doing the hold next
Bro Sick!!! Great to see the whole process!!!!
That looks fantastic!
+Timothy Ward Thanks.
Amazing video!
I could watch you make stickers in Photoshop all day. Awesome job on this AT-AT!
+Duncan F. Ha Ha. In real time it is a bit boring. But sped up its great!
Nice work!
used similar torch light for my homemade star destroyer to light up Darth Vader's chamber.
abs fantastic vid Dave. been waiting for this for a long time.
its looks so good.
i will donate when im back into work.
Like your hard work! Looks great!
WOW!!! Great job!!!
Yeah this is a good one. Perfect wow
Brilliant tutorial - I wish you had given a tutorial on your Photoshop skills!! Wow!!
I am getting asked about that a lot. So I will have a think. But it's more than just how to use the package. I have been an artist for over 25 years.
Keep up the good work. Superb
