Ep.2 Breathtaking Isla Isabela - the Galapagos paradise not just for children!

We are starting our travel year with our children. As long as our 4x4 motorhome is on the ship, we will fulfill our big dream! We are flying to the Galapagos Islands. As backpackers we explore the three large islands of Santa Cruz, Isabela and San Cristobal. We've wanted to experience the wildlife there for so long. And we won't be disappointed! Snorkel with turtles, see sea lions, marine iguanas and much more. We immerse ourselves in the island flair and are completely enchanted by this mixture of South American lifestyle, tourism and natural wonders. Of course, the Galapagos Islands are very expensive and we have to be very careful not to overspend our travel budget. But there are plenty of activities that can be done for free. Feel free to get a tip or two if you also have these fantastic islands on your list!
Background:
We want to travel again with our 3 children in our all-wheel drive motorhome for another year. It's going to South America. We want to drive through South America from Argentina for a year with our 4x4 camper truck. We are happy about everyone who is there.
We travel with our 3 children in a motorhome that we call Womi-Omi: a self-built all-wheel drive truck that was once a fire engine (Magirus Deutz 170D11, similar to Iveco 90-16). We spent a year traveling through Europe, to Tunisia, the Sahara and eastern Türkiye. And we have now planned another long-term trip based on our big dream.
It doesn't matter whether you call it parental leave, sabbatical, time out or parental leave trip - we take the time for our children - on the road in the camper, even for the little things in life.
Of course, we want to discover as much as possible of the countries we travel to and drive on slopes with our off-road motorhome and enjoy nature at very remote parking spaces. Whether we should be called long-term travelers or overlanders? We don't know that either! In any case, we are a family that takes time for smaller and larger detours in life!
Several films were made about this trip, all of which you can watch on UA-cam. And there is even a movie about our year of traveling with children.
And even though our last trip was only 2 years ago, we are setting off again to many great destinations in our four-wheel drive truck.
