What a killer tone! Loved the lick @0:49 sounds alot like Vai! Totally funky feel going on @1:30. Excellent skills!
This is a great song to solo over. I usually prefer to just phrase the vocals into this with slight variations. There's something really deep about slow melodies for this song. That's not to say yours is not good by any means. Cheers. =)
