I would’ve been so sad if you did not share his reaction!! 😂 soooo cute. And the cars are perfect! Thanks for sharing because I’ve been searching how to make a simple wooden axle like this. Thanks!
Thanks ☺️ if you want to see an update, i actually remade this video and added some footage of my son playing with the toys now that he had grown up a bit ☺️ua-cam.com/video/nlpn540NOPw/v-deo.html
Thanks! He still loves these cars over 1 year later, so that is a testament to the simple toys are the best toys mentality. I might have to make him some more as I really want to re-shoot this video as my style has changed so much in a year!
@@TheGrantAlexander It very normal to have the channel improve/change etc. over time. I still frustrated with mine...bad lighting, then good lighting but it looks like a spotlight etc etc. lol
Right to the mouth, glad you used the natural bees wood cream, good call! Awesome build for your little man, you’ll have to make him a DIY tic tac toe board soon. 👍🏼
Absolutely awesome! Brings back memories of the types of toys we had when I was young. Great way to teach children they dont have to have the newest electronic toys. You adorable son is lucky to have a father like you! Keep up the great work.
Thanks Huw! I appreciate you watching both of the videos. I actually find it hard to watch this one these days because my taste has changed that much. I am hoping that my son will ask to watch the new version from now on so I don't have to watch this one anymore, lol!
Love this! They are so cute! Suggestion: When you speed up your work, you could maybe add some faint background music... Just a suggestion! Your videos are great either way!😊
Thanks! I actually remade this video because I have changed my editing so much since this was released. You can see the new version here ua-cam.com/video/nlpn540NOPw/v-deo.html
He does! I actually am in the process of redoing the video as I really enjoy this project but I have "improved" in my video making. In the new video in hoping to catch him playing with them candidly 😁
Thanks for watching and commenting, happy to answer your question! The wood was bought rough from a lumber yard at 4/4 (i.e. one inch) and I took as little as possible off. It ended up being around 7/8" for the ash and closer to 1" for the cherry. Thanks again for watching 👍🍻
Awesome man! Loving your stuff! Only constructive crit I would throw out is during your fast forward sections. Cut the video audio out then maybe dub over those time periods if you feel you have educational and/or entertaining things to say? Just a thought but love it all either way.
For those just interested in seeing my son's reaction, feel free to skip to 7:59. Enjoy!

Yay! Into the projects... and at least 3 different beers. Excellent. That reaction from the little fella was priceless!
Thanks, He still loves the little truck over a year later (the car on the other hand doesn't get as much love)

The reaction is 100 percent why I do this. I love to see the smiles ♥️♥️
Good job dad!

I forgot all my comments after see you son get the cars. That was a great ending!

The Grant Alexander 👍
I wish you had tracing patterns for the truck bodies.🎉

Thanks! He still plays with these simple cars to this day ☺️ good idea on the tic tac toe game

Thanks, I appreciate the kind comments. I hope he learns that lesson, it is one of the goals of making him toys :)
@@TheGrantAlexander Looking forward to watching your other videos as well

@@TheGrantAlexander Hi Grant, I recently watched my first video again and wondered how it has had that many views. LOL. Take care Grant. Cheers, Huw

i have to make a version of these for my boy. love it
Thanks! It's been a month or so and my son still plays with them so I think it was time well spent. I am sure your son will love them too!
Those were awesome, does he still play with them? I have a granson do anytime and I’m looking forward to making him some. Thank you for the vid.

Great video thank you for sharing. I do have one question what was the thickness of the wood that you used. Many thanks. Paul.

I was thinking about your comment and if your question is about how thick the frame would sit off the wall, then the answer to that is 1.5"

Sometimes I like the sounds of fast tools! Next time I will try to add something educational :)
