    I owned one just like this one. I paid $3,000 cash for it brand new in 1971. ❤

    My sister had one in the 80s. It spent more time broken down than driving - but when it drove, it was so much fun.

    what a beautiful little sports car, Pity I'm living a long way from you otherwise I'd be spending way too money - I'd have that Fiat in a heartbeat

    Wow! I can’t believe how well preserved it is! I had two 73’s and I loved them. I’m sure this baby went fast, it’s a shame I didn’t see it!

    I had a '78 Spider. Great car, despite its reputation. Actually very reliable and fun as hell. If not for multiple accidents (none were my fault) it might still be around. The rust monster killed it.

    I remember seeing a 76 in a mall. As I recall it had two hood bumps. Always liked these. Long gone where I am due to road salt

      I think the hood bumps came when they raised the displacement to 1800cc. I had a '78 with them.

    Hi Bob, that is one nice little car. Is that your garage you are filming in? Hope you are safe and well Bob. Kindest regards, John 🇬🇧🇺🇲🇬🇧🇺🇲🙂👍

      I wish it was my garage! It’s a cool place called SHIFT Auto Society. It’s a car storage facility slash car club. I rent a couple spots for my special cars and utilize the facility for videos and such.

    Great looking car. What kind of mpg does this car get?

    • @euroasianbob9268
      @euroasianbob9268  2 роки тому +1

      Don’t think they did mpg ratings back then. I would guess 20-25mpg.

      A girlfriend had a '69 124 Spyder with a '74 engine, 1800 IIRC. All these engines took *premium* gas, preferably 95 octane. She refused to put anything other than the cheapest low octane in it so it ran like shite and burned oil.
      If you're concern is fuel economy these are not the cars for you.

      My 1970 with a 1600 gets between 26-30mpg in normal, mixed driving. (Streets & highway)

    Why not shoot it with a fresh coat of paint? Alignment or best to check ball joints/ tie rod ends first? Nice car!

      those were actually slower and underpowered, made for the US market when emmisisons really kicked in, like they have a book with a guide on them, as this ones missing a carb and a hood to go with it.
