Excellent guide. Did mine this evening. The passenger side doesn’t need the first connector unclipped as it’s even more inaccessible, I just removed the ballast cover with its power cable still attached. Took less than 10 mins passenger side.
Thank you so much! I was looking for tutorials but most people do 2nd gen IS, not 3rd gen. I did mine today and now all good, thanks once again God bless man!
That's a really helpful video! I would like to know which bulb brand/model did you bought? I want to buy a bulb with the same colour temperature as the Lexus original one. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for your great video, it saved me a trip to local garage and £40 in costs. The first time i needed to change my bulb i did not know which bulb to get so i called my mechanic he told me it will cost £65 including fitting. I said ok. Next time i knew which bulb to get so i ordered two pack unbranded bulbs for 19.90 since Branded Osram was £40 for one and changed it myself. It was extremely hard to open the first plug but in the end i managed to do it.
Hi Max Iks no I didn’t dis connect the battery because if your lights are switched off there should be no current flowing into the light but you should do your own checks before proceeding
Excuse me but, How you can know if the problem from the ballast or no ? (I already change the bulb but nothing change) Cause Lexus sell one ballast for 400$ so 800$ for 2, It's extremly expansive Actually my left and right light don't work And before the right side twinkle
Hi I would’ve said try the bulb on the opposite side but if both of your lights are not working and you’ve change the bulb I will suggest taking into into a workshop and getting mechanic to check to see if there is a fault with the igniters ( Ballast units) Something more further along maybe try looking at the fuses yourself sorry I couldn’t be much more help
Mate well done I was going to do a video but you beat me to it. Excellent thanks for that also my lexus is coming up with message cooling battery is low someone said there is filter in rear needs to be cleaned i found the pics if you done a video be great Again thanks.
Hi mate I haven’t done a video on it but it is very easy you have to remove the driver-side rear seat bolster and it is actually just behind it you don’t have to take everything apart like some of the video show you you can just get a hoover and suck out the dust from the filter which is like a fish net I am going to do a video on it I just have not got round to it I actually cleaned my filter two weeks ago when I was wiring up a subwoofer in my car
@@mo-786 thank you for that really appreciate the information saved me probably 300 plus to get it fixed by lexus. Will start on it soon.and keep my eyes open for any other videos you do.
On my lexus is300h 2013 model the driver side beam is permanently on. Do you think changing the bulb will fix this? I recall lexus saying i need a new headlamp which £500 alone!
Changing the bulb will not sort this problem The high beam and dipped beam is done by the same bulb The problem I have seen with these headlights is sometimes when the lens adjusts to do the high beam it doesn’t come back down what I would suggest as I did it to my car park it up against a surface where you can see your light tap the headlight that is given out the high beam bit hard like you know when a real bulb goes out sometimes if you smack it it comes back on you may see the high beam drop to the dip beam or use your hi beam switch inside the car and pull it backward and forward a few times basically flash your lights hopefully this helps let me know
@@yask8230 got this same issue with the full beam not dipping on the driver's side due to a problem with the headlight shutter. Did you have any luck with a fix?
Great stuff. Others recommend removing the air box but I like your approach. Thanks for the tutorial.

Hello Mo, great informative video this helped me alot!
Did you disconnected the battery before? I'm asking because there is a warning about 3000Volts and possibility of death caused by high voltage...

Is it necessary to disconnect the battery ?
I didn’t disconnect it on mine one but I would advise you to take all safety precautions Disconnecting the battery is not a bad option to take
