- The heads are back from the machine shop and they look amazing! We got them out back on to the short block along with the new arp head studs!

Alot of people get built blocks and heads but forget an important thing and thats a good oil pick up/ pan with baffles.
I SERIOUSLY hope you're getting a new or rebuilding your turbo

Just recently put the same block in my 07 sti. I noticed you didn’t check valve lash, is this because you didn’t touch the valve train? When I had my heads off they were decked and I upgraded to gsc valves/ springs retainers. At that point valve lash wasn’t within spec so it was redone. Just wondering, keep up the sweet content.

Block by itself is 4k ..good iag stage 2 closed deck .1k to do the heads at machine shop ..arp studs 200 ..and all the gaskets kit and few other needed parts and killer b oil pick up all together like 6500 roughly id say ..thats exactly what I did on mine ..and did all work.. myself .
Once the build is fully done we will do a video on it!

How much did the heads refresh cost at the machine shop? Or does anyone know a typical price?
Oil consumption is a trait of turbocharged engines keep that in mind when you think twice about checking the dipstick!

Did you guys torque down the arp head studs to the block first then put the heads on??? From the video, you guys just put the head on the block then the studs... which is wrong
We followed ARPs directions where they say that the hex on the stud is not ment for torque just to be used to help seat the stud they don't say anything about torquing them. Can you explain what the right way to torque them is if ARP left that part out?
You should checkout out “SubaruONLY” and “Cruizinmax” videos on the ARP headstuds. Same process was used for the installation
