TMJ4 presses MPS leaders after missing financial reports put state funding in jeopardy

- TMJ4’s Lighthouse team is taking questions right to the top of Milwaukee Public Schools as the district faces a major problem.
“Are you concerned?” reporter Ben Jordan asked.
“Absolutely,” replied school board president Marva Herndon. "So that's it for now."
Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction is threatening to withhold state funding from MPS for next school year for failing to provide financial reports. Some of those reports were due last September.

They should have ran this report before we had the vote to give them even more of our tax money.
The fact they only discovered this after the vote seems like a downtown con job as usual. They are all in cahoots. No shame at all. Then the mayor gets more and more annoying every time he speaks. Milwaukee citzens have been played once again while people line their pockets. They can give 2 cents about the kids.
If ya had any sense ya voted no but clearly many lack that around those parts.

MPS can mobilize for political recalls, but for accountability to tax payers……not so much.

Um, Mr. Mayor, this is a little bit more than a “snafu”. Wow…. Our city’s future depends on the education it provides. I mean, if you look at our statistics with crime and literacy (or a lack there of), it does truly make sense now. These kids can’t even read. Milwaukee parents have treated MPS like a daycare for a long time, and it shows. Milwaukee county would’ve been better off using that money to build another juvenile detention facility. Then the kids wouldn’t have anything else to do but get an education.

Stupid is as stupid does. Why tax payers are not protesting the massive amount of money to MPS in tax payer money is beyond me. Why keep voting these people in? There’s a reason I moved out of Milwaukee county…out of control!

Look at that 0.76 GPA in action!! What a sight to behold! I totally forgot that MKE superintendents were voted in to "office" and they ran on party platforms... You know, rather than in the real world where members of the district's school board hire the superintendent. This has absolutely nothing to do with democrat/republican, but because of the large number of sexual encounters with relatives you keep finding yourself in, your mind goes straight to red v blue. Also, Jill Underly's office, the WI Superintendent of Public Instruction (the one that actually gets elected lol) is nonpartisan.
Suspend all MPS operations.
