I’ve been in and around the world of the American theater organ since the mid-1970s. and it is absolutely fantastic to see John Mann, in 2023, just playing away like crazy.!

Great to hear John still tickling the ivories. Used to hear him on the organ circuit in the midlands with Eminent in 1980s and also on the Turners wurlitzer . Happy days!

Just to be a bit pedantic, an electronic organ usually uses plastics, not ivories. No bets on the Wurlitzer, though.

As a teenager I had such a monster (yes, an Eminent 2000 Grand Theatre with full pedal!), although I prefer my Hammond A-100 for the drawbar sound, this thing has a beautiful string section, a world-famous piece of Dutch engineering 😀

      Hello Stacy,
Thank you for your interest, That Organ is older than Me (Hien), it was made in the 70th by the Eminent Organ Company in Holland, John used to demonstrate the Organ for them, John has that Organ at home here for a long time, He used to have 1 like that which is in France now and 2 white one which He used to tow around the Country to perform later He got one living in Pavilion Worthing and one in Winter Garden Eastbound which He has achieved about 35 years summer season in both places, He got a glass window donated by His JMAS members which put in Worthing Pier, John play very well on the Eminent so people named Him His Eminent John Mann.

He was an international entertainer organist and pianist professionally of course, unfortunately we have closed his website when he tired on his 80th but there may be information in the organ world, look John up by putting John Mann Organist on Google, then you will see John information on some organ websites.

I'm playing exactly the same model "2000 Grand Theatre" which I obtained in 1978. Except: the pedalboard of my organ has only 13 pedals - yours has 25!
I just love the way of your registration - the voices are sounding very nice to me!
Guess I learned to change my mind by using any other voices. And there are a lot of them on this mighty instrument!
And YES: the switches have become very sticky on my organ, too.
YES again: the rhythm section has suffered through the years as well...
    Great, great video of yours!
    One question:
There was a BBC Radio Manchester show with Nigel Ogden (at least in the 1980's) named "The Organist Entertains".
Have you ever been presented in one of Nigel's weekly shows?
Please, drop me a line... Thank you in advance!
Cheers and all my very best wishes.

Hello Jens. Thank you for your comments and interest in the Eminent 2000 GT. as you rightly say this instrument has a wealth of sounds I don’t know if you are aware that I was chief demonstrator in the Uk. For a number of years I also toured the USA. It was very sad when the company was devolved. But as I had invested in purchasing while working for Eminent two organs one I kept at home and the other I toured the country doing my one man show. Then as I needed more venues where I could leave instruments at Theatres I had two White and Gold organs which looked great on stage. At first they were on loan to me and eventually they were mine. And are still in working order one in the Paul Kirner’s music palace in Porth Wales. The other is in a private residence. Still in perfect working order I have recorded LP’s and some 22 CD’s plus Video and dvd’s. I was broadcasting in 1968 and was in the 2nd program of the Organist entertains when Robin Richmond was the presenter. I was interviewed by Robin and many other radio presenters all my broadcast’s were on theatre Pipe organs. Then I was featured with the Eminent organ. When Nigel Ogden took over after a few years and I was slowly edged out and I learned from Nigel that he didn’t like the Eminent sound. He only liked the Hammond organ. Sadly the discrimination of Nigel’s presentation s was the demise of the programme. I have survived some 70 years and still giving the occasional appearance only on pipe organs as I sold my trailer to avoid being tempted to giving shows. The pandemic helped me cope with retirement but now I am enjoying playing again for pleasure without pressure. My partner Hien has been catching me rehearsing which have been successful so I’m just about to hopefully get a little more playing for Christmas on UA-cam. Do keep in touch I have spares for the organ so I hopefully can keep the instrument going. All the best John.
