Rip to the greatest leadoff hitter of all time! I hope one day the WPIX telecasts from this series surface.
As Yankees fan, Rickey was fun to watch. Even better when played for Yankees ❤
i remember running home from school to watch these playoff games , great times 👍🏼
Yep, only to be disappointed when Yankees lost to dodgers. My Mom is Dodger's fan🤣🤣 nice to see Mom smile, but it really hurt 🤣🤣
I was at this game sat in front of the Oakland players wife’s I was also at game 1-2 -6 LA NYY W.S
Starting pitcher Rudy May and Ricky Henderson passed away within 2 months of each other in late 2024 and both of them went to high school in Oakland.
Great quality video! Thanks for the memories.
Man, what a time to be alive....thanks to you for bringing not only...the great games but great memories ty.
I appreciate that Jay that’s why we are here ⚾️😎✌️👊
Rudy May passed this year . Besides being a good lefty, he was an avid fisherman. Growing up on Long Island, I identified with that.
Love that Winfield and Reggie were in the lineup at the same time, if only for a season.
Mr May, and October.
Wow.
What a treat.
Another excellent quality game upload from the best era of ⚾ by Phenia Films MLB.
Much appreciate the hard work it must have went into cleaning the audio/video up and then uploading it here.
Keep more of such games coming.
Regards Sir.
This was the game that convinced Bob Lemon to overuse George Frazier in the WS
Billy Martin manager for Oakland …. how awesome it would have been if it was Oakland vs Montreal in the World Series … but both lost their championship series
I wish the Cy Young Award and MVP would stay focused on Starting Pitchers only. McCatty, Dennis Martinez both won 14 games and Steve's era was great.
R.I.P. Billy Martin, Rudy May
Ahhh beautiful, clean, WHITE America. I miss my home

This was the olny time the yankees made the postseason in the 1980 s
Milbourne batting second and Randolph batting last??
Milbourne was on a hot streak as Tony kubek mentioned and also a left-handed hitter
Randolph had one of his worst seasons in 1981, which I'm sure influenced in his lineup placement.
With the exception of Henderson and Armas, the A's lineup was not that impressive. The young pitching staff was outstanding, then Billy Martin blew out their arms.
Yankees had too many LH pitchers. They didn't match up well with the dodgers and their RH hitters
2:29:45 today he’s immediately ejected
