Evolutions wouldn't be terrible without changing their stats if way more cards had them to choose from, and unlocking them wasn't as p2w. Ofc they would still completely change the game, but the playing field would be more even and varied. And with more evolutions you should also be able to get the specific shards easier too (other than wild shards, or change the system entirely to wild shards)
i think it should be like everyone should get them free like when the first evolutions were released in some sort of a challenge. f2p player here at 5500 and some evolutions could certainly help me, and the ability to have them and try them out, except for the evo skeletons, i didn't play any of them
i'd keep the buffed stats and maybe very strong abilities but make them +1 elixir or more. it is apparent that cycles just slow down the amount of evos you can get, they're not a price to pay since you would already cycle. 3 elixir firecracker survives arrows? no thanks. 4 elixir firecracker survives arrows? understandable.

Concept 2: Holds its breath and breaths a fire laser (not like inferno laser) that is like 5 magic archer arrows. It holds its breath for 3 seconds and does 500 crown tower dmg and 1500 dmg to troops. Does piercing dmg Concept 3: Instead of acting normally it does 3 normal small fireballs fast but after doing so it cycles between its 3 attacks which are: Scratch, Breath fire, and Tail whip. Breath fire is 3 fast low dmg mini-fireballs it will do this 12 times before cycling. Scratch is fast constant low dmg melee attacks, the baby dragon will scratch 12 times before cycling. Tail whip is slow area dmg with high dmg, it will do this for 6 times before cycling to fire breath again and it repeats the cycle.
That elixir spirit is the perfect card cuz there is no pro that would give 1 elixir to the enemy so using it would be risky, only good to cycle at the beggining to force some card and definetly the type of card to keep level 1
