Thanks for upload this Best Version Ever👌🏾of Still in Love With You! I was searching this for many years, I bought this maxi single when I was a teenager (1984/85) loaned out, but it never returned
Thanks for your comment. I too think this is the BEST version of this song!!!! I wish more people know the value of this VERSION. I am sad that it was loaned out and never came back.I feel for you....😢
This recording holds a special place in my heart. I heard this version on a Valentine's Day edition of Tommy Vance's Friday Rock Show in 1988, and a few months later stumbled across the 12" single in a second-hand record shop. It started me on a Thin Lizzy journey that's still going on, just as undimmed, 35 years later. Though the label claims it was recorded at Hammersmith Odeon on 10th March 1983, I've got a copy of the bootleg of that night and it sounds nothing like. So I'd dearly love to know the true origins of the performance.
It's a lovely encounter!" The LIFE version of 'Still In Love With You' is good, but this recording is also excellent! I would also love to hear the Hammersmith Odeon bootleg from 10 March 1983!
@@PerrierKitahara I feel the same way. It could possibly be a rehearsal take. "Got Give It Up" from LIFE/LIVE is a rehearsal take, but it was included because of its excellent quality.
It's really an outstanding version of this song. And Scott Gorham manages to play his solo without a flaw to be overdubbed as on the Dublin recording put on Live/Life (ridiculous attempt to just repeat the foregoing section, would have been better to keep the bum notes). And John Sykes shows here that he's not only the odd diddly-twiddly guy, but has also great melodic feeling. Based on Robbo's L&D solo, he made up his own, great version.
I think it's a great version of the song too. I respect John Sykes for 40 years and I cover John Sykes' playing in my band group. TYGERS OF PAN TANG, WHITESNAKE (SLIDE IT IN, 1987) and other songs. I am also trying to start a THIN LIZZY cover band. I would like to play this version in that band. I think John Sykes' solo playing on this song is a further upgrade of John Sykes' playing of Robbo's great melody.
@@chromemirror783 Well, if we were closer together geographically, I would try to take the Scott Gorham parts in your TL cover band, honestly. But in Germany, TL cover bands are as rare as an ice cube in the hottest desert. 😆 So I'm happy with the band I play in, at least we have 3 Lizzy songs in our set.
I had this single. For me this is the definitive live version. Is this version of ‘Still In Love With You’ out on CD anywhere? Phil’s emotional vocal really cuts through. I saw the Birmingham Odeon show on the Farewell Tour. Thank you for posting.
I agree with you that this live version is the definitive version of this song! As far as I know, it has not been released on CD. So I think there are a lot of fans who don't know about it. I'm jealous you got to see the Farewell Tour! I am thinking of forming a cover band for THIN LIZZY when I was with John Sykes.

I have this 12" single. It's a treasure. Best version of "Still In Love With You" ever.
I also treasure this vinyl!
Very emotional THIN LIZZY and I love John Sykes' guitar playing.
@@chromemirror783 I wonder why this version was not included on the album LIFE/LIVE.

This is great but the Definitive version is included in the Rock Legends box set Live C.D
Both versions are excellent, but this vinyl version feels fresher. Thanks.
