Thanks for the kind words all of you! I enjoyed doing a video with my bro. Don't tell him this but I have picked up a lot of good info from both of his channels. I have also learned what NOT to do from him when we were kids! LOL! Long Live the Republic and God Bless America! Thanks for watching!

As a cardiac RN I recommend 3 chewable baby aspirin. So many men go out for a wilderness experience and find the climb, exertion, and load to carry an impetus of chest pain. Many will not confess it because they do not want to ruin the trip. Immediantly give the 3 chewables and call 911. If I only had a dime for every situation when sedendary people tried to go into the mountains and it taxed their heart beyond capacity. They will be in denial. You have to trust your assessment and your gut. "He doesn't look right!" You can save a life with early recognition of a heart attack, calling 911 and giving 3 chewable baby aspirin. Medic helicopters can reach even remote places. Carry baby aspirin in your pack.

I earned my nickname of Gadget Girl when I got sent to Oklahoma (from Colorado) to launch a new site for work. Any time someone needed advil, a bandaid, scissors, you name it, it was in my backpack. My coworkers turned it into a game to see if anyone could ask for something I DIDN'T have! (& that wasn't counting what was in my checked suitcase! That had all the stuff I might need if the SHTF whole I was out there & I had to get home!)

What a fun video!! This video reminded me of years ago when I was in the Navy and I needed a jump start for my car. I remember that everyone who passed me by kept saying they would of helped me out but they didn't have jumper cables. Eventually someone helped me out and I went straight to the store and got a new battery and jumper cables, and to this day all my vehicles always have jumper cables.

    • @Alexis_9339
      @Alexis_9339 3 роки тому

My husband always has them, and I do now too. So many times we’ve been at church or random places where someone needed a jump, and no one else has cables.

    WARNING ALERT ⚠
If power goes out all you need is a 2000 watt car inverter. Make sure to buy a sine-wave type inverter. Attach a 00 AWG gauge copper cable to your car's battery for installation of your inverter if no cord is provided with the inverter.
Plug in a long heavy gauge extension cord into the inverter and attach the other end of the extension cord to an electric space heater inside your house. Make sure to keep your car motor on parked outside and NOT in house garage. Lock the car doors and have a spare car key.
Make sure to have many gas cans filled. Use the high quality air-tight military 'jerry' type metal gas cans for storing gas. Non-ethanol gas is the best for long term storage.

some people may not know this - but tagamet and pepcid are antihistamines as well, as someone with a lot of allergies - some severe, I keep both on me, especially after a dr told me to take it along with benadryl for a spider bite that resulted in insane hives - had to take prednisone in a pretty high dose for it and get some shots. so benadryl is an H1 block and tagamet/pepcid are H2 blocks

I was a Boy Scout as a youth and an Adult Leader during and beyond my Sons 12 year Scouting career. The majority of the outdoor prep and the necessary survival skills you cover is taught in the Scouting program. Be Prepared is their motto. Sadly only 2-3% who start the Scouting program reach the rank of Eagle Scout. Your channels (and others) do a great job of teaching those who were not given, or didn’t take full advantage of, the Scouting program as a youth.
Being prepared also means making sure those going with you are fully prepared as well. You should always do a gear shake down in the driveway or parking lot before you depart on your adventure. If they lack the skills or knowledge, show them where you keep your survival cards or book in your gear so they can save your life.
That power boater who assisted you was checking your preparedness when he asked you if you had a rope.

Guys I live in Florida, and have tramped the swamps and back water all my life. The snakes, gators, and mosquitoes are a bitch. I always carry my backpack with my oh sh&t gear and pistol with my fishing gear . I have always loved it and still do it at 65 years young

Some great ideas that are seldom ever mentioned on survival videos is the benadryl the air horn and the red ribbon. I'll be adding those items to my packs. Some sutures or strong duct tape is essential as well to close lacerated wounds. Have Derek on again sometime.

During chemo, with frequent dehydration from vomiting and diarrhea, I learned that sips of water are better absorbed than guzzeling water. Stay hydrated.

Guys these things do happen including the Hornets nest-- BELIEVE IT!! And Carry 2 paddles always!! Pay attention. And take a tarp for cover. Rain pops up quick! Bug Spray. Bright flashlight!! It is black dark on water or in woods. It has to throw a bright long light to shine the banks or tree tops. For fog!! Don't count on that little pocket flashlight. Pay attention!! Rope..yes!!! Believe it!! We stay at the river a lot. We have a houseboat. And have experienced all these things.

Y’all keep up the good work. It’s a good thing to be called a Boy Scout. Be prepared. One of the toughest hike fishing trips I’ve been on was in long creek I think it was the cougar river.

Loved your informal format with your brother; the wooded background and clips. I appreciated the presentation of important information shared in a "non- threatening" and casual manner. Retention was easier. Thank you!
P.S. I bet your family gatherings are a hoot!.

As good of an idea as the trail marker ribbon is, if you’re going to put it out you need to pick it up on the way out. Otherwise you’re just the same as the scum bag tossing their soda bottles and McDonald’s trash out the window.
