I'd always considered DSC1 to be a bit of a racket. Until I actually sat it! I needed it as a condition of my syndicate membership, and it really opened my eyes as to the gaps in my knowledge.
I believe the shooting requirements have changed slightly since this vieo was made. Also the Large Game certificate part of the DSC1/DMQ1 has changed. This is now done as part of the level 2 assessment.
Great vid. just found it redirected from boar skinning vid. I am going to my HCAP exam early March. Pretty much the same format minus the two day course. Good luck to me! :)
Moorvale55 Nothing to do with what Brian is doing, but SNH and Scottish gov are pushing for DSC1 to be minimum requirement at least in Scotland. I like the way it is - a voluntary qualification, but I think it is going to change soon... Happy New Year! Thanks for watching.
Choppington Otter would be a pain in the arse for taking folks out stalking if you legally had to pass dsc before you could shoot a deer. It would make it very difficult for clients and would probably destroy a lot of the tourism stalking generates up here in Scotland, if there was additional hurdles

It is not necessary, it is not a legal requirement.......keep doing it and it will be !!

... and why would we be scared of higher standards Moorvale? It's not hard to pass and for humane reasons alone the shooting test is a good idea.

Fuck that shit I'm glad I've got me own land
This is the same as DSC1 yes?
Yes, Deer Management Qualification or as some refer to as DSC as you are getting Deer Stalking Certificate
You learn by going out stalking with a skilled stalker .This is bullshit
another way of milking hunters of their money simple as that,
