I would add: 1) Keep your map (M) open. Resize it so it's only a small portion of your screen, center it so you can see the whole field, and check it occasionally. You'll be more aware of what's going on. 2) Stay in a loose group when possible. PvP is really bad 1v1 in that it takes longer. More chances for reinforcements to arrive. If you are outnumbered because you ran off on your own, you're much more likely to give the other team an easy kill. Most teams stay grouped up and love to catch single players for quick points. 3) Sprint has no cooldown - use it all the time. After you heal, especially. You should always have the sprint buff active.
Just started this in the last week after playing endgame for months.. I love raids and trials but I am now addicted to this chaotic madness where I don’t understand most of what is happening atm. I want to try ranked but it never pops for me within a reasonable time. I want to try diff jobs but still getting used to my main (PLD) which seems so-so for PVP thus far. ( likely because I don’t know the ins and outs of my rotation as I do with PVE). Great video - thank you.

I want to play this to get the achievment mounts but I'm quite bad at pvp so it feels like I'm gonna ruin it for every team I'm in :( I play Casual Match a lot and I'm always doing worse than everybody.
if you wanna win, learn Nin, Sam or DRG, these can easily get up into the 20kills range when you've mastered them, which can turn the tide. Another tip, kill those with a red mark, that indicates that they're good player with the strongest buff, kill them to half that bonus power. NIN and SAM LBs are just free Kills DRG LB can allow for massive multi kills if done correctly,

Play astro rack up kills while the rest of your team fails to capture objectives
