Fantastic images!! It's good to see that some buildings are still standing and haven't been redeveloped! The Church Inn was pulled down a few weeks ago for - you guessed, More flats! Travesty!!
Photo of Plymouth Grove Hotel ( Corner of Shakespeare Street and Plymouth Grove ) I once or twice visited Schools Clinic, which was in Shakespeare Street, early 1950s. I read somewhere Plymouth Grove Hotel, is now a protected building ( just saying ) Anyway, Peace to all !!
Can you please do a video on South Manchester (Rusholme, Fallowfield, Chorlton, Longsite) in the 70s. I grew up amongst a huge catholic Irish community in Rusholme during the 70s and would love to see similar images.
Log end "manchester dartboard". Had to be soaked in water to stop cracks. No trebles. Thought of my father as soon as i saw that..... great memories of darts in the garden :)
Bring me back memories! I was live in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy from 1960s to 1995, passed Hulmes slums many times by buses numbers 86 & 84. Happy days!

Alvin Stardust on the side of a building, haha...how funny is that. Good job it weren't you know who... (take ya pick!)
Reassuring to see that things aren't so bad today - those images really paint a picture of despair and destitution
You can still see the despair and destitution, only now it's the people not the buildings.

Britney spears feat Justin Bieber
@1:55 Now a bar called CRAZY PEDROS !
More of a pizza place
Nice....still living in Hulme, not a single pub left... like the music, what is it?
What difference Manchester is today. Huge improvement with all the investment.
Do you think Piccadilly Gardens is an improvement?
Good video, hideous music.
Atlesst label the pics with names
I love this!! Could you possibly do one of Birmingham in the 70's or 80's? Thanks so much. X
HAVE A WEE LOOK HERE ua-cam.com/video/8O_IeWsRB1U/v-deo.html
Absolutely not. I preferred the well manicured Gardens and benches where people used to chat in the 60s and 70s.
Never seen a dartboard like that. Did coal miners use that pub? The numbers are in different places.

It's a Manchester log end board.
Had to switch off. Overwhelming music. It dominated the video. Even at low level.
