    First 30 seconds was a fusion game changer for me. Subbed purely for that!

    First time trying this, but after watching this I knew there had to be a better way. So generate the gear, then highlight and delete it. It will leave the teeth behind. Attach one of those teeth to the end of a rectangle, without joining it. Use Pattern along a path with the desired number of teeth and spacing. Quick, simple, easy.

    This is not very precise

    Very frustrated going through this video. 0 explanation of steps required me to go through the video multiple times, rewinding 4 seconds at a time. The fillet doesn't work when making the rack tooth while following these "steps" as best as possible

      Use "As built joint" option and set the pivot point at centre

    Manque de contact entre la crémaillère et le pignon peut mieux faire

    How can you make the rack move further with a small amount of movement?

      Large gear driving a small gear

    Unfortunately, this is not a proper rack tooth.

    dude if you actually spoke clearly and made this easy to follow this would be great. instead you just played that music and stayed silent the whole time. This helpful, but didn't need to be as annoying to follow as it was.

    This is useless. You completely ignore math and paint a negative tooth that is a little bit smaller and don't even care about the teeth spacing.

    This is wrong. Racks have straight teeth, not involute curves offset from the gear teeth

    • @ironsienna
      @ironsienna 6 місяців тому

      involute curves offer advantages such as smoother meshing, reduced noise, and improved efficiency compared to systems with straight-toothed racks. The only limitation of using involute curves in a rack and pinion system could be more complex to manufacture and may require more precision in design and production. Straight-toothed racks are often simpler to produce and are suitable for many applications.

      @@ironsienna A rack that meshes with an involute gear has straight teeth. Like I said, you are wrong.

      @@phil2082 As you just repeated your previous statement, like an axiom, without justifying the reason, I have now been convinced that your opinion is objective.

      Funny. You are arguing about gears and racks and the next moment it is about bread and nutrition.

      By the way, this gear and rack in the video is clearly wrong. The gear teeth should be rolling on the rack teeth and not sliding and a moment long they will be lying completely flat on each other. There will be a lot of wear if you make one like this.
