While Giannis wanted a championship contender team surrounding him , you are incorrect about how it went down. Giannis and Jrue were extremely close. They stayed at each other's houses and their children played together like 1st cousins. The fact is, Jon Horst admitted that they had to do this trade without Giannis knowing because he would've never gone for the idea of trading Jrue. The front office thought the trade was necessary because Jrue told them and the media a year prior that he plan to retire at the end of his contract and had no intentions on resigning so that he could spend more time with his wife Laren and their children. He was very adamant about his decision.
When Giannis started saying that he wanted to know if they (the front office) was on the same page as him to keep the Bucks a contender team and refused to signed if they wasn't committed to doing so.
At this point,the front office knew that Jrue was soon to retire and they thought it beneficial to not let him just walk without getting something for him. That's when they went over Giannis head to shoot for Dame, because they knew Giannis would've interfered and would have issues with that.
Giannis said he was shocked to find out that Jrue had been traded for Dame. He mentioned in the media during his reaction that this whole trade move was a bitter sweet trade for him. He Spoke well about Jrue even saying that he will always be his bonus brother, while at the same time using wisdom he spoked about Dames arrival because he didn't want Dame to feel like he didn't want him there or was totally busted over the trade.
I realized that people are gonna make up things in exaggeration of their speculation about what really happened. Do what you do though because that's your job,but at least tell the truth instead of making up what sounds good or entertaining to you at the stake of the feelings of those involved. We all was hurt when Jrue was traded INCLUDING Giannis but he understands that it was a business decission. You can believe that or keep spewing misinformation to further your own public agenda. The Bucks fans know the truth.
