Obi-Wan beat the most dangerous opponents: Darth Maul, General Grievous, and Anakin. He even took on Maul AND his brother Savaje at the SAME TIME. Yet people still question his power? You gotta be blind. Kenobi was a Jedi Master...Anakin wasn't. Sit down boy.
Okay but you have to understand that Anakin in revenge of the sith was not only stupidly more powerful than Obi Wan but he was also way more skilled. He literally only lost because he was too arrogant and Obi Wan played him like a fiddle. He only lost to Obi Wan the 2nd time because he hadn't perfected himself in the dark side yet. If Empire Strikes Back Vader fought any version of Kenobi at all. He would win. No questions asked. Canonically he is just that strong and skilled by the time of Empire Strikes back and this version of Vader in Kenobi is canonically weaker.
@MeVsFanboysWorshippers everyone knows he's the chosen one & all but these guys(especially Jerry) downplay Obi Wan too much. Kenobi has the greatest resume in saber duels, was a master tactician & a Jedi master.

You notice everytime Vader wants something, Sidious steps in to prevent it. He gets humiliated by Obiwan on Mustafar, so Sidious gives Vader the planet as his homebase. Vader wants revenge on Obiwan, so Sidious tells him to back off. Sidious will do whatever he can to keep Vader pissed off
Point is whatever Vader wants, Sidious will deny him purposely to piss him off. He knows getting Vader to back off tracking down Obiwan is just gonna “twist the knife in the wound”. He knows Vader won’t let it go. He’s already pissed, just gonna make him more pissed that he can’t go after him. Annakin was always impulsive and emotional, Sidious pushes his buttons to keep his hate boiling
I was honestly surprised that Palpatine didn’t choke Vader through the hologram for losing to Kenobi again…I really thought he was gunna be like *”You let him defeat you…again”* and just grab Vader with the force like he constantly does in the comics whenever Vader fails or steps out of line.
Y'all are seriously downplaying Obi-Wan and Vader. Obi-Wan had the upper hand in this battle but he's not man handling inquisitors and pulling down space ships. He's not ripping apart bases and throwing the pieces at people. Vader is one of the strongest force users while Obi-Wan is one of the strongest Jedis.
Yea. Obi-Wan was actually relatively weak in the force naturally, he came a long way to get to this point. He isn’t as powerful in the force as Vader, just more in touch or attuned with it at this moment. Anakin lost his limbs and just got put into a torture chamber of a suit, so he’s at a natural disadvantage rn and he’s still learning. Glad you recognize!
I think they captured everything about Vader perfectly in this finale. He was always more powerful but he always got bested by his emotions for wanting more and if anyone knew how to take advantage of that it would literally be his best friend, his old master Obi Wan. Even after he buried Obi Wan he calls him “Master” cuz he can never let go of his past until Obi Wan finally let’s go in ANH. My only thing I wished they would’ve done differently between this “rematch of the century” was show Vaders fighting style with the force. In all honesty I’m thinking multiple times Vader could’ve shown intimidation by using his force and swinging his lightsaber down with one hand at the same time. A master of all 7 forms but I think he definitely favors form 6 Niman more in his Vader years. Still happy with the fight it was full of awesome shots🔴🔵. Also shoutout Liam Fucking Taken Neeson for coming back as Qui-Gon Jinn, I love that.

Why does everyone in this channel forget how good a duellist obi wan is? Vader has more raw power but obi wan is one of the most skilled Jedi’s there’s been. Vader loosing to him doesn’t take anything away from how powerful he is, he *is* one of the strongest sith there has been - it just reiterates how strong obi wan is.
the thing it's obvious Darth Vader made emotional mistakes in this fight like he did in Mustafar, in theory when Vader says "anakin" was weak, he was specifically referring to his emotions, he always lost duels when he got emotional, so what is Vader now? Cold and Calculating, which is why he always beat everybody later on. But when it comes to Obi Wan he can't help but be emotional. Just look at how Vader fights in this duel the first seconds, he's using one hand, he's confident, but then as he starts noticing Obi gets serious he's like, "oh shit" and you can see Vader grabbing his saber with two hands, which is VERY rare for him to do. He always one grips it. It shows he's starting to get emotional, and that's precisely what made him lose fights, and precisely why he lost yet again to Obi Wan. All he needed was remain calm and he'd have destroyed Obi very easily, but nope, he lost his shit again like on Mustafar, and that hadn't happened to him in years.
Obi wan is strong in the force but not that strong, nor is he physically strong. His power is how technically sound he is at defending himself while also taking advantage of his opponents weaknesses

They thought Obi-Wan was a lot older than he actually was in OT and tried using his age as the reason why he lost to Anakin, completely forgetting how old Dooku and Palpatine are 😭age is inconsequential for Force-users. Dooku was in his 80s doing flips and running like he a man in his prime.
This episode was so emotional and amazing. Sad that it’s the last episode but this duel is easily one of the best Star War duels of all time. The switch up of Darth Vader and Anakin’s voice.
Obi wan was the first Jedi to defeat a Sith Lord in 1,000 years, killed grievous and beat “the chosen one” twice. He’s always been stronger than anakin/vader
What makes Obi Wan dope is he's like the wise dude that loses everything but still does his duty and doesn't let it turn him too much from his good nature, he's like the Kakashi of Star Wars, not the most powerful but the tools he has he's gonna use against you better than anyone else.
Based on actual Star Wars lore, at this point in time, this Obi-Wan vs Vader fight is the most accurate. There's a long period of time directly after Order 66 where Obi-Wan is the most powerful person in the galaxy. That's why it was hard to fathom a lot of the struggles he went through in this show, but they eventually got it to make sense. He was mentally struggling with regret which hindered his balance with the force.
idk about that, maybe in weird legends lore (which isn't canon), but to me; anakin is made of pure force, has mastered both sides, and is the best swordsman in the galaxy.. isn't the whole concept of Darth Vader that he's virtually infinitely powerful??

Nah Obi Wan is Gangsta AF. He flew toe to toe with some of the greatest that ever lived, Maul, savage, Vader, grevious, Ventress, visla and the third sister. Has to be one of the wisest and most powerful Jesus there is, one of the best. He is to starwars what the cowboys is to the NFL.. Don’t @ me. 😈
A lot of the comments are saying that Obi-Wan is being underrated and overlooked, which is true. They make note that he's a great fighter and force user and a master, as well as having the experience against some of the best fighters. You also have to note that he isn't just a great duelist, Obi-wan is arguably one of, if not the, best duelists in Star Wars. Others names are Mace, Anakin, and Sidious of course. He became a master through the Clone Wars, and essentially mastered the ultimate lightsaber form of defense (Soresu), making him virtually unkillable. He's a duel tactician, and knows how to get the W without chasing it (a very Shikamaru-like fighter). He was out-of-training and past his prime in this scene, and was still able to control the flow of the fight once he gained his composure. Vader is by no means weak, it's just Obiwan is 'that' good. Would have loved to see him and Mace go at it.
Mace easily destroys, and obi wan won due to plot consistency. He only beat anakin because he jumped. If the fight continued George Lucas said it HIMSELF anakin would’ve been victorious. And tell me how an obi wan who lost earlier in the show and barely held a lightsaber in ten years, beats a Vader who’s more powerful in the force, stronger with mechanical arms, experienced, mastered all lightsaber forms, and has been ACTUALLY fighting during those ten years, beats him?
Why do people still doubt obi wan...? Darth maul. Done. Grievous. Done. Anakin. Done. Vadar. Done. Sat on the Jedi high council. Was a GENERAL in the clone wars. Was trained by Qui Gon and Yoda. Check all boxes on the job application.
Obi wan let him kill him in there final battle, he did it when Luke was watching and even his line before he says when u kill me I'll become more powerful then you could ever imagine
My favorite part about Kenobis badassery is that within lore, his mastery was of defense not offense. At his peak no body was landing a hit on him ever. Rope-a-doped people for days.
@RT TV, 18:35 Anakin is plagued by his past. He was a born into servitude and only had a moment of freedom, but he spent his entire life proving his worth to himself and others. In episode 1: - his friends told him his pod racer was trash and that he'd crash and burn. Anakin, of course, won the race, proving them wrong. -the Jedi Council told him that he was too old to begin his training and that he would not become a Jedi--the look on Anakin's face when they told him that is priceless. He of course did become a Jedi and one of their greatest in centuries. In episode 2: -Anakin spends a good portion of the story trying to prove himself to his master while overstepping and screwing up and this all leads to him getting embarrassed in front of Padme's colleagues over security matters. And that's not the worst of it! When he arrives on Tatooine he learns that his mother has been kidnapped by the Tuskens, and when he finds her she's dying. He started doubting himself more since he wasn't the person Qui-Gon said he'd be. Though it was wrong Anakin likely wiped out the Tuskens for two reasons: revenge and to make sure that he indeed learned what the Jedi had taught him. Anakin would go on to make more mistakes, one of which costs him his arm. In episode 3: -Anakin is more confident and is finally listening to Obi-Wan, doing all the right things. Even so, the Jedi Council don't show him the respect he feels he's earned. He was pleased to hear that Palpatine had issued a mandate to the Jedi Council to put him on the council, which of course pissed the Jedi off, as that isn't something the senate had ever done before, but also because Palpatine was ruining years of tradition. They of course complied with the mandate but declined to give Anakin the rank of Jedi Master--his career as a Jedi ended with him only achieving the rank of Jedi Knight. As he told us in the movie, their actions were insulting, and it quite clearly bruised his ego. In Anakin's head he had done all the right things. He had improved the areas he was lacking on in episode two and he was excelling in other areas. He wanted others to notice how far he had come and the only person taking notice was his friend Palpatine. All the council did was give him the cold shoulder. He single handedly saved the Chancellor and Obi-Wan! How much more would he have to give before the Jedi finally gave him his due? Anakin gave, gave and gave some more, but it never seemed to be enough. Anakin's life in servitude defined him. He always had to prove himself to his masters, and those around them. Anakin hungered for praise. This is the one thing the Jedi could get him to change about himself. He's need for praise is part of his attachment, something Jedi are supposed to be without--remember Yoda speaking to Luke about this while training him? The emperor knew Anakin's story, and he knew his past is what brought him down. Anakin needed to die so that Darth Vader could truly ascend. Anakin's baggage is what always held him back, and when you watch RotJ, you can see how it played a part in Darth Vader's defeat. Had Anakin known that his children had survived, Obi-Wan and the others might have been able to pull him back towards the light side of the Force, but that was a gamble no one could make. But the last conversation between old friends, I think we saw Anakin free Obi-Wan from 10 years of guild that had wrecked Obi-Wan. Anakin speaks with the blue hue of Obi-Wan's lightsaber lighting his face, but when he shifts tone, so does the hue on his face, changing from blue to red. Anakin forgave Obi-Wan for what happen or rather took ownership for what he had become, giving Obi-Wan peace of mind, a parting farewell. Palpatine had his doubts that Anakin had truly washed his hands of his past, which is why he brought it up. The fear in Vader was palpable, look at that pause and posture change before responding. That moment was the true birth of Darth Vader, which is likely why we didn't hear the Imperial March all season, as they were saving it for the actual birth of Darth Vader, the one we see in the OT.

You guys nailed it right on the head. There was always a little bit of Anakin somewhere in there. His close friends and family were always weakness that prevented him from turning completely to the dark side.
Reeva only knows that obi wan was protecting luke that’s why she’s going after him. She also feels like obi wan used her to get away from Vader while she was left for dead.
Reeva was easily the stupidest character they've introduced since the sequel trilogy. Her actress didn't fit the role either she just looked confused in each scene outside of a few.

Then again this show still wasted Hayden for 5 episodes and just had him walking around in a suit. I knew this show wasn't for me when the Leia mission lasted past episode 2 it has it moments but the changes to the time line are stupid and just makes unnecessary connections.
Of course Vader was going to take an L...he was emotional when fighting Obi Wan this time. At this point he was never fully Darth Vader. That was Anakin's rage and need for revenge that made him fight Obi with emotion! At this point he was still lead by Anakin's pain and need for revenge. Darth Vader is emotionless when he beats all his other foes and that's why he is so powerful. Anytime he fights someone that may pull on emotions from his past (like Luke and Obi Wan) he is weakened. At this point...just like Obi Wan said, his need for victory is his downfall. Even though Anakin is a better warrior he was never able to out wit his master. He was still a student. Thats why 10 years later when he fights Obi again he says "last time we met I was a student, now I am the master" By then Darth Vader was no longer emotional about Anakin's lost and rage. Anakin was truly dead by then. He was able to get Obi Wan then even though by then it was Obi's choice
I been waiting on this. Glad to see Wellz get his payoff for sticking with Obi-wan. To this day, I still think about the Twin Suns episode of Star Wars: Rebels. The next series up for Disney+ is the Andor series.
Ya know how LeBron and his super team lost to Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs in 2011? That's this. It's arguably the greatest going against another Legend, and that Legend just happens to have his number. Obi trained Anakin from his youth. He knows everything about him. Not to mention, as strong as Vader is, the suit limits him always.
GREAT analogy... that Mavs team was sneaky good, they beat THREE championship squads that playoffs (they beat the Spurs and SWEPT the defending champ Lakers to make the Finals), had 2 first ballot HOFers and a likely third (Dirk, Kidd, Marion), a DPOY and 6th Man of the Year (Chandler and Terry) and a HOF level coach, plus the coach and DIrk were looking for getback against the team that beat them in the Finals before. Spoelstra was a future HOF coach who was early in his career and got washed strategically.

2 things: 1. Obi Wan is the most accomplished duelist in Jedi history. Emphasis on duelist. 2. Both of them were in their physical prime in episode 3, Anakin especially. Like sidious was pissed about what happened to him. Neither of them were stronger after that.
Vader getting packed like this explains why he was so cautious in his ANH fight. Also even acknowledging his growth since then, since he CLEARLY was still the student in _this_ episode.
For once I can agree with Rob. The light that remains from Anakin existed because his brother Obi-Wan was still alive out there. And when Obi-Wan died the light attached itself to Luke. The moment in the comic when Vader learns Luke's name is intense.
its not really about how powerful obi wan is, no matter what anakin has always been stronger, but the dynamic between them always causes anakin to act irrational, arrogant, this is why anakin has a much harder time with obi wan than other opponents. because obi wan reminds him of what was, and obi wan understands this
Obi Wan's been living in Anakin/Darth Vader's head rent free. And that's been his undoing at both confrontations. There's no question that Vader/Anakin is more powerful. He's just not as wise, and gets overconfident when it comes to his former master Obi Wan. And Vader is obsessed. Even after he "killed" Obi Wan, he wasn't satisfied, checking the robe for pieces of Obi Wan that he probably would have preserved just to keep his own hate intact.
Obi Wan is, at this point, easily one of the strongest beings in the galaxy (only being weaker than Palpatine and maybe Yoda). He has totally mastered the defensive stile of combat, with the only thing ghat holding him back being his trauma and sense if guilt. Once he overcomes that and is able to reestablish his connection to the force he is unmatched. Meanwhile Vader is still struggling with his two identities and is so easily overcome by emotion that he's totally unprepared when the usually defensive Obi Wan goes aggressive on him
Darth Vader never killed Obi-Wan in Episode 4. Before Vader had the chance, Obi-Wan became one with the Force; Obi-Wan lifted his lightsaber and closed his eyes, clearly preparing himself to become one with the Force. Then Vader swings his lightsaber, passing through Obi-Wan's suddenly empty clothing. If you watch closely, Obi-Wan gave himself to the Force just before Vader struck. Because of this, and it's the same as what we saw at Yoda's passing, they just left, and no one killed them. That skill was what the Force Qui-Gon Jinn teaches Obi-Wan in the caves of Tatooine.
As nice as it was to see qui gon, it was pointless should of been training since episode 2 or 3 and already escorted Leia home. Any plot holes, or just me here. But are we to assume qui gon finished his training to become a force ghost as to why Kenobi can see him not or simple plot hole?
I am no nerd on the source books and other novels for Star Wars, but I know that even though he wasn't the Jedi with the highest count of Midichlorians nor the best Jedi overall, he was indeed one of the most powerful of his era due to the connection he was able to achieve with the Force in those moments of need. I think it explained that he was so in tune with the force and that is what made him so powerful. After all, he was the Jedi Master to Anakin Skywalker and subsequently the Jedi that defeated Darth Vader and rescued the old Anakin Skywalker at the end of his life to bring him to the light so he'd die in peace. It's fucking beautiful, I know! Haha
Sidious pretty much confirmed that Vader only lost because he was conflicted. You can even visually see it and hear it. Anakin’s face is in the blue (light side) with us hearing Hayden’s voice. And then it flashes red whilst we hear Jame’s voice. Vader couldn’t bring himself to kill Obi Wan.
I noticed that in the fight Darth Vader appeared hesitant and afraid. He knows Obi Wan is strong with the force and is capable of destroying him. It’s sad to see Obi Wan when he called to Anakim with tears 😭. When his helmet got slashed, didn’t you hear Darth Vader’s double voice
Crazy to think about how strong Anakin really is. This is just a fragment of how strong he was going to become if he didn’t make that stupid jump that gave obi wan the high ground. He’s only partially connected to the force with what limbs he has left. He was growing stronger by the second. Strongest character in Star Wars easily. Or at least is potential’s higher than anyone else’s by a long shot.

There's a new animated Star Wars show coming later this year call Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. The show's gonna tell the stories of two characters that you've already met. The animation looks amazing and there's gonna be a fight in that show that you DO NOT wanna miss. You guys have to watch this when it comes out later this year.
All the episodes of kenobi reflect the one through six episodes of Star Wars Episode 1 we meet a force sensitive kid Episode 2 futuristic blade runner type setting Episode 3 anakin /obi wan fight where a character is very badly burned Episode 4 daring rescue from from an imperial facility Episode 5 rebellion escapes by the skin of their teeth even from Vader Episode 6 a defeat of Vader from a Jedi with mercy who left the rebellion because evil doers were really just after him

Obi Wan has proven himself multiple times against many heavy hitters that used the dark side plus no one said Anakin was the strongest. The force was stronger in him than most people and he had the potential to be the strongest.
Nah, YOU haven’t been paying attention. Anakin was more powerful than kenobi in Revenge of the Sith. Which was why he was so shocked that he was granted a spot on the council without the rank of master. He was arguably the best duelist in the order and he was up there with yoda and mace as the most powerful on the council. His emotions made him lose his balance and his hubris is what led to his downfall, NOT his lack of power.

I hate how rob and the others downplay Obi-wan’s powers so much when he has fought and bested powerful opponents like maul and grievous and they cannot except that he has the skills to take down vader without saying that because vader is emotional so he at less power.
Obi-Wan was so underrated and underestimated. The guy was a Jedi Master trained by Qui-Gon. Defeated some of the most powerful opponents. He may not been able to match Anakin's potential, but he was a deadly fighter and Darth Vader was simply no match for a prime Kenobi. Vader was too weakened from his burns and his mechanical body. He may be more powerful than the average Jedi but he was no match for Kenobi who bested Anakin even when he was still whole.
Obi-wan has always shown that being a master of something is different then being insanely talented. He has always been very cunning and quick witted. The way he fights and uses his powers are what make him one of the best Jedi. And wasn’t he also the youngest member on the council? Obi is goatee lowkey. Damn
Anakin was the most naturally talented, he was the chosen one for a reason. Unfortunately, Anakin’s mentality was his downfall, and it ruined his potential.
Obi-man mastered the most defensive lightsaber art he uses that against all the people he fights, all there skills are aggressive with anger obi wan uses that against his opponents

Kenobi is NOT stronger than Darth Vader. Vader loses for two reasons. First, Obiwan is the only Jedi (due to their friendship) that can make Vader emotionally unbalanced. The Emperor senses it at the end. Second, Obi wan finally reconnected with the force after 10 years and had something to fight for.
I’m pretty sure Obi-Wan only won because Vader didn’t expect Obi-Wan to play dirty by attacking his life support. When Vader was caught by surprise he didn’t have enough time to react, and I still think his was still trying to get use his new fighting style in his mechanical suit.
Just to educate some of you people in here. In the comics, between ROTS and ANH, Obi Wan trained in the force so much that he became more powerful than both Sidious and Yoda. He was able to sense the living force in the entire known universe, and made quick work of a Darth Maul that beat Vader to a pulp. He was so connected to the force that he let it control him through his actions and could consistently see into the future. That version of Obi wan is one of the most powerful, non god, characters ever seen in Star Wars easily beats any version of Vader, and is up there with Luke. To the guy on the right. "He can't lose to Obi Wan like that". "That can't be Darth Vader though". You have to realize, Darth Vader IS Anakin Skywalker. Think of it like this. Imagine someone with extreme social anxiety preparing to do a speech in front of hundreds of people. They can hype themselves up, feel super confident, etc. Believe they're going to calmly kill the speech. However, when they get on stage, that anxiety is still there. Anakin has so many childish and conflicting emotions when it comes to Obi Wan that he just can't bury. He may be veangeful, and he may want to destroy Obi Wan, but when facing him, all of those emotions Anakin expeirences towards him just get in the way. Palpatine even said it in the end.
Pat and Rob what a duo. Vader is very strong at this moment your heavily underestimating Obi-Wan he is literally one of thee strongest Jedi masters in clone wars. Of course he’d stand up against Vader. He’s stand up against Maul and Grievous too.
Something to consider is that you have to remember this is the same person that be Anakin that's a big thing because the emperor was disappointed when he found Anakin because he realize Anakin became weaker by losing that fight the only reason why Obi wanting wins this fight is because he out thought Vader that flashback scene still holds weight in this fight Vader wants to win too much so he doesn't consider all possibilities but what he can do Because he believes he can do anything

Obi-Wan beat the most dangerous opponents: Darth Maul, General Grievous, and Anakin. He even took on Maul AND his brother Savaje at the SAME TIME. Yet people still question his power? You gotta be blind. Kenobi was a Jedi Master...Anakin wasn't. Sit down boy.
Okay but you have to understand that Anakin in revenge of the sith was not only stupidly more powerful than Obi Wan but he was also way more skilled. He literally only lost because he was too arrogant and Obi Wan played him like a fiddle.
He only lost to Obi Wan the 2nd time because he hadn't perfected himself in the dark side yet. If Empire Strikes Back Vader fought any version of Kenobi at all. He would win. No questions asked. Canonically he is just that strong and skilled by the time of Empire Strikes back and this version of Vader in Kenobi is canonically weaker.

You notice everytime Vader wants something, Sidious steps in to prevent it. He gets humiliated by Obiwan on Mustafar, so Sidious gives Vader the planet as his homebase. Vader wants revenge on Obiwan, so Sidious tells him to back off. Sidious will do whatever he can to keep Vader pissed off

I think they captured everything about Vader perfectly in this finale. He was always more powerful but he always got bested by his emotions for wanting more and if anyone knew how to take advantage of that it would literally be his best friend, his old master Obi Wan. Even after he buried Obi Wan he calls him “Master” cuz he can never let go of his past until Obi Wan finally let’s go in ANH. My only thing I wished they would’ve done differently between this “rematch of the century” was show Vaders fighting style with the force. In all honesty I’m thinking multiple times Vader could’ve shown intimidation by using his force and swinging his lightsaber down with one hand at the same time. A master of all 7 forms but I think he definitely favors form 6 Niman more in his Vader years. Still happy with the fight it was full of awesome shots🔴🔵. Also shoutout Liam Fucking Taken Neeson for coming back as Qui-Gon Jinn, I love that.

Why does everyone in this channel forget how good a duellist obi wan is? Vader has more raw power but obi wan is one of the most skilled Jedi’s there’s been. the thing it's obvious Darth Vader made emotional mistakes in this fight like he did in Mustafar, in theory when Vader says "anakin" was weak, he was specifically referring to his emotions, he always lost duels when he got emotional, so what is Vader now? Cold and Calculating, which is why he always beat everybody later on. But when it comes to Obi Wan he can't help but be emotional. Just look at how Vader fights in this duel the first seconds, he's using one hand, he's confident, but then as he starts noticing Obi gets serious he's like, "oh shit" and you can see Vader grabbing his saber with two hands, which is VERY rare for him to do. He always one grips it. It shows he's starting to get emotional, and that's precisely what made him lose fights, and precisely why he lost yet again to Obi Wan. All he needed was remain calm and he'd have destroyed Obi very easily, but nope, he lost his shit again like on Mustafar, and that hadn't happened to him in years.
Obi wan is strong in the force but not that strong, nor is he physically strong. His power is how technically sound he is at defending himself while also taking advantage of his opponents weaknesses

Based on actual Star Wars lore, at this point in time, this Obi-Wan vs Vader fight is the most accurate. There's a long period of time directly after Order 66 where Obi-Wan is the most powerful person in the galaxy. That's why it was hard to fathom a lot of the struggles he went through in this show, but they eventually got it to make sense. He was mentally struggling with regret which hindered his balance with the force.

A lot of the comments are saying that Obi-Wan is being underrated and overlooked, which is true. They make note that he's a great fighter and force user and a master, as well as having the experience against some of the best fighters.
You also have to note that he isn't just a great duelist, Obi-wan is arguably one of, if not the, best duelists in Star Wars. Others names are Mace, Anakin, and Sidious of course. He became a master through the Clone Wars, and essentially mastered the ultimate lightsaber form of defense (Soresu), making him virtually unkillable. He's a duel tactician, and knows how to get the W without chasing it (a very Shikamaru-like fighter).
He was out-of-training and past his prime in this scene, and was still able to control the flow of the fight once he gained his composure. Vader is by no means weak, it's just Obiwan is 'that' good.

Anakin is plagued by his past. He was a born into servitude and only had a moment of freedom, but he spent his entire life proving his worth to himself and others.
In episode 1:
- his friends told him his pod racer was trash and that he'd crash and burn. Anakin, of course, won the race, proving them wrong.
-the Jedi Council told him that he was too old to begin his training and that he would not become a Jedi--the look on Anakin's face when they told him that is priceless. He of course did become a Jedi and one of their greatest in centuries.
In episode 2:
-Anakin spends a good portion of the story trying to prove himself to his master while overstepping and screwing up and this all leads to him getting embarrassed in front of Padme's colleagues over security matters. And that's not the worst of it! When he arrives on Tatooine he learns that his mother has been kidnapped by the Tuskens, and when he finds her she's dying. He started doubting himself more since he wasn't the person Qui-Gon said he'd be. Though it was wrong Anakin likely wiped out the Tuskens for two reasons: revenge and to make sure that he indeed learned what the Jedi had taught him.
Anakin would go on to make more mistakes, one of which costs him his arm.
In episode 3:
-Anakin is more confident and is finally listening to Obi-Wan, doing all the right things. Even so, the Jedi Council don't show him the respect he feels he's earned. He was pleased to hear that Palpatine had issued a mandate to the Jedi Council to put him on the council, which of course pissed the Jedi off, as that isn't something the senate had ever done before, but also because Palpatine was ruining years of tradition. They of course complied with the mandate but declined to give Anakin the rank of Jedi Master--his career as a Jedi ended with him only achieving the rank of Jedi Knight. As he told us in the movie, their actions were insulting, and it quite clearly bruised his ego. In Anakin's head he had done all the right things. He had improved the areas he was lacking on in episode two and he was excelling in other areas. He wanted others to notice how far he had come and the only person taking notice was his friend Palpatine. All the council did was give him the cold shoulder. He single handedly saved the Chancellor and Obi-Wan! How much more would he have to give before the Jedi finally gave him his due? Anakin gave, gave and gave some more, but it never seemed to be enough.
Anakin's life in servitude defined him. He always had to prove himself to his masters, and those around them. Anakin hungered for praise. This is the one thing the Jedi could get him to change about himself. He's need for praise is part of his attachment, something Jedi are supposed to be without--remember Yoda speaking to Luke about this while training him?
The emperor knew Anakin's story, and he knew his past is what brought him down. Anakin needed to die so that Darth Vader could truly ascend. Anakin's baggage is what always held him back, and when you watch RotJ, you can see how it played a part in Darth Vader's defeat.
Had Anakin known that his children had survived, Obi-Wan and the others might have been able to pull him back towards the light side of the Force, but that was a gamble no one could make. But the last conversation between old friends, I think we saw Anakin free Obi-Wan from 10 years of guild that had wrecked Obi-Wan. Anakin speaks with the blue hue of Obi-Wan's lightsaber lighting his face, but when he shifts tone, so does the hue on his face, changing from blue to red. Anakin forgave Obi-Wan for what happen or rather took ownership for what he had become, giving Obi-Wan peace of mind, a parting farewell. Palpatine had his doubts that Anakin had truly washed his hands of his past, which is why he brought it up. The fear in Vader was palpable, look at that pause and posture change before responding. That moment was the true birth of Darth Vader, which is likely why we didn't hear the Imperial March all season, as they were saving it for the actual birth of Darth Vader, the one we see in the OT.

Reeva only knows that obi wan was protecting luke that’s why she’s going after him. She also feels like obi wan used her to get away from Vader while she was left for dead.

Of course Vader was going to take an L...he was emotional when fighting Obi Wan this time. At this point he was never fully Darth Vader. That was Anakin's rage and need for revenge that made him fight Obi with emotion! At this point he was still lead by Anakin's pain and need for revenge. Darth Vader is emotionless when he beats all his other foes and that's why he is so powerful. Anytime he fights someone that may pull on emotions from his past (like Luke and Obi Wan) he is weakened.
At this point...just like Obi Wan said, his need for victory is his downfall. Even though Anakin is a better warrior he was never able to out wit his master. He was still a student. Thats why 10 years later when he fights Obi again he says "last time we met I was a student, now I am the master" By then Darth Vader was no longer emotional about Anakin's lost and rage. Anakin was truly dead by then. He was able to get Obi Wan then even though by then it was Obi's choice

It's arguably the greatest going against another Legend, and that Legend just happens to have his number. Obi trained Anakin from his youth. He knows everything about him. Not to mention, as strong as Vader is, the suit limits him always.
GREAT analogy... that Mavs team was sneaky good, they beat THREE championship squads that playoffs (they beat the Spurs and SWEPT the defending champ Lakers to make the Finals), had 2 first ballot HOFers and a likely third (Dirk, Kidd, Marion), a DPOY and 6th Man of the Year (Chandler and Terry) and a HOF level coach, plus the coach and DIrk were looking for getback against the team that beat them in the Finals before. Spoelstra was a future HOF coach who was early in his career and got washed strategically.
Anakin was the most talented, and could’ve been the best. But it’s his mentality that was his downfall.

Obi Wan's been living in Anakin/Darth Vader's head rent free. And that's been his undoing at both confrontations. There's no question that Vader/Anakin is more powerful. He's just not as wise, and gets overconfident when it comes to his former master Obi Wan. And Vader is obsessed. Even after he "killed" Obi Wan, he wasn't satisfied, checking the robe for pieces of Obi Wan that he probably would have preserved just to keep his own hate intact.

Obi Wan is, at this point, easily one of the strongest beings in the galaxy (only being weaker than Palpatine and maybe Yoda). He has totally mastered the defensive stile of combat, with the only thing ghat holding him back being his trauma and sense if guilt. Once he overcomes that and is able to reestablish his connection to the force he is unmatched. Meanwhile Vader is still struggling with his two identities and is so easily overcome by emotion that he's totally unprepared when the usually defensive Obi Wan goes aggressive on him

Darth Vader never killed Obi-Wan in Episode 4. Before Vader had the chance, Obi-Wan became one with the Force; Obi-Wan lifted his lightsaber and closed his eyes, clearly preparing himself to become one with the Force. Then Vader swings his lightsaber, passing through Obi-Wan's suddenly empty clothing. If you watch closely, Obi-Wan gave himself to the Force just before Vader struck. Because of this, and it's the same as what we saw at Yoda's passing, they just left, and no one killed them. That skill was what the Force Qui-Gon Jinn teaches Obi-Wan in the caves of Tatooine.

I am no nerd on the source books and other novels for Star Wars, but I know that even though he wasn't the Jedi with the highest count of Midichlorians nor the best Jedi overall, he was indeed one of the most powerful of his era due to the connection he was able to achieve with the Force in those moments of need. I think it explained that he was so in tune with the force and that is what made him so powerful. After all, he was the Jedi Master to Anakin Skywalker and subsequently the Jedi that defeated Darth Vader and rescued the old Anakin Skywalker at the end of his life to bring him to the light so he'd die in peace. It's fucking beautiful, I know! Haha

Crazy to think about how strong Anakin really is. This is just a fragment of how strong he was going to become if he didn’t make that stupid jump that gave obi wan the high ground. He’s only partially connected to the force with what limbs he has left. He was growing stronger by the second. Strongest character in Star Wars easily. Or at least is potential’s higher than anyone else’s by a long shot.

The animation looks amazing and there's gonna be a fight in that show that you DO NOT wanna miss. You guys have to watch this when it comes out later this year.

Episode 5 rebellion escapes by the skin of their teeth even from Vader
Episode 6 a defeat of Vader from a Jedi with mercy who left the rebellion because evil doers were really just after him

Obi Wan has proven himself multiple times against many heavy hitters that used the dark side plus no one said Anakin was the strongest. The force was stronger in him than most people and he had the potential to be the strongest.
Nah, YOU haven’t been paying attention. Anakin was more powerful than kenobi in Revenge of the Sith. Which was why he was so shocked that he was granted a spot on the council without the rank of master. He was arguably the best duelist in the order and he was up there with yoda and mace as the most powerful on the council. His emotions made him lose his balance and his hubris is what led to his downfall, NOT his lack of power.

Obi-Wan was so underrated and underestimated. The guy was a Jedi Master trained by Qui-Gon. Defeated some of the most powerful opponents. He may not been able to match Anakin's potential, but he was a deadly fighter and Darth Vader was simply no match for a prime Kenobi. Vader was too weakened from his burns and his mechanical body. He may be more powerful than the average Jedi but he was no match for Kenobi who bested Anakin even when he was still whole.

Kenobi is NOT stronger than Darth Vader. Vader loses for two reasons. First, Obiwan is the only Jedi (due to their friendship) that can make Vader emotionally unbalanced. The Emperor senses it at the end. Second, Obi wan finally reconnected with the force after 10 years and had something to fight for.

I’m pretty sure Obi-Wan only won because Vader didn’t expect Obi-Wan to play dirty by attacking his life support. When Vader was caught by surprise he didn’t have enough time to react, and I still think his was still trying to get use his new fighting style in his mechanical suit.
Just to educate some of you people in here. In the comics, between ROTS and ANH, Obi Wan trained in the force so much that he became more powerful than both Sidious and Yoda. He was able to sense the living force in the entire known universe, and made quick work of a Darth Maul that beat Vader to a pulp. He was so connected to the force that he let it control him through his actions and could consistently see into the future. That version of Obi wan is one of the most powerful, non god, characters ever seen in Star Wars easily beats any version of Vader, and is up there with Luke. Put some respect on the greatest jedi of all time

You have to realize, Darth Vader IS Anakin Skywalker. Think of it like this. Imagine someone with extreme social anxiety preparing to do a speech in front of hundreds of people. They can hype themselves up, feel super confident, etc. Believe they're going to calmly kill the speech. However, when they get on stage, that anxiety is still there.
Anakin has so many childish and conflicting emotions when it comes to Obi Wan that he just can't bury. He may be veangeful, and he may want to destroy Obi Wan, but when facing him, all of those emotions Anakin expeirences towards him just get in the way. Palpatine even said it in the end.
