- Here is the most detailed and exclusive mileage test comparison of both the variants of the 2023 Honda City - Hybrid vs CVT Petrol. We drove both cars for a cumulative 1100 KM to find out the highway mileage difference between both cars.
Ek baat sahi nahi lagi...Jo aap ne kaha ki Sedan SUV ke hisaab se planted nahi lagti..Isse me sehmat nahi hu. Mera experience ye hai ki Honda city ya koi bhi achi sedan gazab ki stability provide karti hai highway pe high speeds pe. SUV 100+ pe cornering/sharp turn karne me unstable ho jaati hai lekin ye sedan bahot jyada stable hai highway par.

I'll be clear with you Gaurav - It completely depends on the user, if he is a Highway Cruise User Or Uses His Car For Office or City Usage Only. Because a 4.5Lacs diff, if only used in Highway or a mere 3-4kmpl diff, doesn't make any sense. Ideally conclusion would be
1. For Highway Usage - ZX CVT
2. For City Usage - Hybrid HEV
3. For Highway / City Usage - Still a ZX CVT.
Ideally a 2 to 2.5lacs diff is still okay for 4.5lacs is way too much to recover the cost.
And Importantly With HEV - The boot capacity is reduced massively - Ideally with HEV, A Family Road Trip Is Very Difficult, Hence Making It Unusable To It's Capacity.

You are the mileage test king of India. Very detailed review, everytime. But just one suggestion, India is very diverse, so if you could cover those (like hilly terrain from the Himalayas)
The true way and method to compare mileage tests as path and speed were kept same for both the cars and 550kms is a long trip

🌟Regular Petrol Powertrain Is More Than Enough For Highway Uses, If Highway Use Is The Priority Then The Extra Premium Pricing Of Hybrid Variants Doesn't Make Sence
Hybrid is not just about Mileage.. I drive therefore I know..there is a noticeable difference in ride quality between two.. but for mileage.. don't want evil eyes 😅, but trust me your visit to petrol pump will be reduced to almost half if you drive with patience and calm mind.
How is the road noise and wind noise in hybrid.
@@padmeshsethuraman5617 wind noise not felt that much, road noise is ok ok.. Honda city cabin is not known for its noise cancellation that much.

Nothing matches the fuel efficiency of a honda city diesel. I have one and the best fuel efficiency i have attained is 34.2km/l over a trip of 700kms+ cruising at 90-100kmph, ac on, 3 passengers and luggage.
Generally i get 32km/l + on my highway trips. Have driven it 160000 kms+
Try driving 70km speed in cruise u will be blown away

Basically agar city mein zyada run hai toh definitely Hybrid variant lena chahiye. 8KMPL is a massive difference!
Hybrid should have been offered on all trim levels.
Its only legislation that is forcing car makers and people to abandon diesel. Tech made diesels a whole lot cleaner and more refined. If the legislation was there car makers would put money to develop BS7 engines but Gadkari & NGT apni hi dhun me hai.
VW Diesel gate was very bad for the car industry.

Hello , Please do full traffic drive . In the peak hour traffic both morning and evening , run these cars for 2 hours and then se ethe mileage difference. That should bring out a larger gap . Your analysis is good and I look forward to it , but you must do a full bumper to bumper traffic mileage analysis . Because that is the real deal .

City is the car which can be continously driven for 400 to 600 km

At bumper to bumper crawl speeds in city traffic the mileage in hybrid is far better than the CVT because the car runs on battery at those speeds. Highway driving mileages may be similar in both cars because above 80 kmph the hybrid also uses the petrol engine to power the car. Below 80 kmph speeds the electronics in the car decides whether to use the engine, motor or battery to power the vehicle. For normal cruising speeds below 80 kmph or for hilly areas where you rarely get to drive above 60 kmph because of the curves in roads, the hybrid would definitely be the better choice.

Even at 80 kmph hybrid can't run on small battery pack for more than 3-4 kms. Hybrids are ideal for city commuters.

Just disagree with his assessment because I own honda city and in given day when on trips I have driven it for 700+ kms that too non stop with 2 passengers and no one even wanted to take even break because it is that comfortable. And yeah what is this conclusions of us in India that suv are comfortable for long drive man I just hate body roll of the suv makes me tired within 200kms.

It's not the ground clearance that is bad. It's the terrible unscientific speed breakers and potholes which needs to be fixed for the amount of road tax they take

Taxes by govt, now honda city is paying 42% taxes means honda city actual cost is 9.5L at plant and at show room it is 14.5L after on road it will touch 16L ! Id they bring siv then it will touch 20L due to same taxes cars like accord civic are stopped
