Disappointed by the torso articulation. Should’ve added an ab crunch with the diaphragm
Funnily enough, the armor in the box art is not the Extremis Armor, but its predecessor, the Pentagon Armor. It's funnysad that not even Hasbro can avoid falling into the pitfall of conflating both suits.
I feel like you're the first person I've seen who's actually mentioned this. I've seen so many people refer to the Pentagon armor but call it the Extremis armor and it bugs me lol. And yeah, Hasbro really couldn't pick artwork of the actual Extremis armor for the box? Not sure what's up with that.
@@JoeysEpicChannel Also wanted to point out that the pentagon armor was what the original toybiz modern iron man figure was based off of.

I think figure's based on the Model 24 suit. I was looking through those issues yesterday and they line up with some references I found.
@@jt6924 though it was based on an earlier, less recognizable pre-Adi Granov version of it.
Those eyes look so real like there's light shining from the inside out
Ab crunch would have put this figure over the top.
Looks like a really nice upgrade, the helmet is the only part in which I slightly prefer the old one tho
I wish they make that pentagon armor in the box art. Bulkier than the extremis.
The one thing that older figure still does better is the color scheme. We'll probably get a more vibrant repaint at some point of this new figure.

But he didn't. You know Hasbro are doing this shit on purpose, right? They put out an initial release with a less-than-ideal but still passable color scheme, and then a year or two later they release the version that probably everybody wanted in the first place.

Shoulder pads too, I wish this new figure had the pegged-in shoulder pads with move in and out like the old figure (akin to the newer Wolverine figures with shoulder pads)
I'm sure a repaint is coming out just like they did with modular iron man
The colors on the first version look way better IMO but the new one is definitely better overall.
I wonder if anything can be done to carve out the plastic inside the lower torso where the torso barbell joint is and the socket in the upper torso to increase the ab crunch
80th cap is the better cap for civil war. He had the dark navy blue suit in that run

This Iron Man design is another one of my absolute best armor looks for Tony Stark and even though he does look so really cool, I still will get the Ultimate Captain America to display him in my own Avengers display with the AI Iron Man, Great review erivera94

Thank you for a great review! Though, I still think this is a bad representation of Extremis armor, and even though Extremis is one of my favorite armors, I will not be getting this one, because looking at it makes me upset.
Another solid review man. I am one of the few people who prefer the paint swirled plastic because it results in far fewer QC paint application issues, and the colors usually match the different parts on the figure better.
Could you please compare him with the recent Iron Spider? Thanks
Marvel Legends has never made an accurate Stealth armor. They really should, as it's a beautiful design with unique boots, gauntlets, helmet, shoulder armor and backpack.
It's anything but a cheap repaint!
Bend the grounded knee at the Bottom knee joint ONLY, keeping the top knee joint straight. Does this give the figure the height needed to straighten the leg up more?

Why is no one comparing him to Iron Spider? That fight scene was paramount to the civil war comics storyline.
This is a low end toy line, you don't get a full body paint job with metallics and a wash because that would punch up the price significantly.
That's how that damn Black Series Cobb Vanth figure became a deluxe figure despite the standard size and amount of accessories.
I'm good with the swirly plastic over paying deluxe price for a standard Iron Man figure.

I'll admit a blind box variant concept would be kinda cool, with this new packaging.

Wow that articulation segment was painful to watch. Those shoulders won’t hold 90 degrees and that diaphragm joint is worthless
No paint and the same repulsion effects we’ve gotten with every single iron man. Once again another Hasbro rip off.
