    Wow so cool... I would love something like this, my income is spent mainly on rent and other bills, but 3 quarters goes on rent.. me and my dog would be very happy in that, and the cat... great home, I love it ❤

    How many dogs do you have? Why are there 9 in cages in the back?

    You keep saying "winter mode". I don't think that's much of a justification for condemning the dogs to living in those crates. And why so many? Just have one or two & treat them like family & not freight...

    • @Quantonas
      @Quantonas 11 місяців тому +7

      Our dogs travel in the crates (crates keep dogs exponentially safer while traveling),eat, and sleep in the crates. Otherwise, they spend their days running, hunting, training, swimming, sleeping in our bed, and being dogs. My dogs have FAR more stimulation and engagement than 99.9% of the pet population. The fact that you think they are "condemned" to these crates shows your ignorance. These dogs are our lives. We travel all over the country for their benefit. For our dogs. Your uninformed opinion based on a 20 second clip on the internet is hilarious. Carry on with your ignorance.

    how do you keep your hot water heater from freezing since it is open to the outside

    • @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters
      @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters  12 днів тому

      It is always on since we live in it so it stays hot and won't freeze. There is a way to close some valves and drain the water out of the water heater also if you are looking for that option. You should always winterize your trailer if you don't use it in the winter.

    This is my first year living in our Lakota during the winter as we are living in ours to build a home. What do I need to do to ensure the water doesn’t freeze and what is the heating you used for your tanks underneath?

      Here is a video of how I made my horse trailer livable in winter conditions.

    That may be recalled a 3 horse trailer but it is in practical sense a 2 horse trailer and the inside door between the living quarters and the horses should be opened towards the living quarters, not towards that inside stall.

    • @Quantonas
      @Quantonas Рік тому

      It's a stock combo trailer (and 14 ft of stock area at that.) It could fit 5 horses comfortably if we didn't have the sliding gate pushed back for the dog are (which is seen as storage in the video because winter.) And the door doesn't open into the stall, it opens into the ✨️MIDTACK✨️ which is where the dogs are in this video because winter.

    That is no way For them poor dogs to live. How would you like to live in a cage like that and can’t even turn around in there. Dogs are family would you cage your wife or mother like that? That angers me. Everything was cool up until I saw that.

    • @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters

      OMG don't comment on something you know nothing about.... Our dogs do not live in their crates they sleep in them and they love it and yes they can turn around in there just fine and they all have beds... Our dogs are out daily and run up to 5 plus miles day due to our lifestyle. Our dogs are very athletic bird dogs that don't sit cooped up in a house all day getting overfed and sleeping on a couch 22hrs of the day, that is not how dogs want to live....

    • @Quantonas
      @Quantonas Рік тому +5

      Crates are the safest way for dogs to travel. I've seen a lot of dogs lost due to riding loose when car accidents occur. Our dogs trave and sleep in their crates. They have a TON of room in them, and perhaps you could take a minute to think that maybe a 30 second clip on social media isn't the entirety of their (or our) lives. If you watch almost all the other videos, you'll see our dogs doing their jobs. Above, he says they run up to 5mi a day but honestly we can and do hit 15 miles on a semi regular basis.
      Keep your ignorance to yourself and you won't feel so silly in public.
      All the best to you.

    What is the length of the livestock area? Do you use the front area as storage and the rear for the horses? Im trying to figure out how many horses you can fit in just hald the stock area to store the fourwheeler in the front section. Thank you

    • @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters
      @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters  Рік тому

      We have a floating gate so we have options that we can use to adjust our livestock area. We have dogs and dog crates in the front of the livestock area and horses in the back. Our livestock is in 12ft long and we usually travel with 3 horses in around 6 or 7 feet in the back. We normally load our 4 wheeler in the mid tack area with the ramp.

      @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters thanks for the reply. That's really good to know. The one I was looking at has a 14ft livestock area and I was worried I should go with the 16-foot instead. It's nice to know I could still fit three horses in the rear compartment of a 14ft area. The trailer looks really similar to yours except it's a smaller living quarters at 15ft. Any advice you have or recommendations are welcome. I'm still planning it out and after speaking with someone over at the manufacturer, it's looking like I'm going to need at least a 4500 series truck which explains why you have a 5500 to pull this.

    • @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters
      @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters  Рік тому +1

      @@wrokjon you can never go wrong with more stock area. We wish we had more but we live in this trailer. When it comes to your truck just pay attention to your trailer tounge weight and your trucks payload weight, make sure they work together. I would lean towards tripple axel because it should help with the tounge weight issue. It's not cheap or easy to own a 4500 or a 5500 because it is comercial truck. It is hard to insurance for them.

    • @wrokjon
      @wrokjon Рік тому +1

      @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters I'll have to call the manufacturer again to verify but when they gave me the tounge weights to two similar size trailers, one being double and the other triple axle, they both had an empty trailer hitch weight of around 4600lbs. I was surprised as I thought the triple would be lighter as well. At 4600lbs, I'm not sure I can make it happen with a 3500 since even a base model only has around 5500lbs of payload. I would think these trailers loaded are north of 5000lbs on the pin weight. I would rather not get a commercial truck like you said but I would also hate to get a 3500 and find out it's not going to work.

    • @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters
      @RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters  Рік тому +1

      @@wrokjon Yeah it sounds like it is going to push the limts of a 3500. My tonge weight is 6000lbs but that is also if I was fully max loaded. I'd say worst case we are around 4000lbs. Most of the time we don't travel with water in the tank but sometimes we have too. The other issue is we travel with around 4 to 5000lbs of payload on the truck so it adds up quick.
